Thank you for your reply. I will find the other video. You do really lovely embroidery. Would love to watch more of you stitching. I just ran across you today. I really like how you transfer your design with a needle. Makes a thin line. I like that. Have a wonderful day. 🌸
I love your video! because you show us exactly everything about the embroidery! And I love you show us how to end up each color in the back! Beeutifful job and Great video!👏👏
Thank you for your reply. I'll be checking your future videos! I appreciate when people explain and show every detail of how they do their beautiful work! I wish I could embroider as good as you! I get so frustrated when I try because my embroidery looks pretty bad!🙈😀 maybe some day!😅
I don't care if you made mistakes we all do. I was told by the woman who taught me how to do bobbin lace that no one will know where you've made your mistakes. And my mother in law favorite saying was a blind man would be glad to see the difference. I know that doesn't go in today's PC coach or but mistakes happen . And it's beautiful
This is the 1st of your vid's I've watched, thanks so much, I cross stitch mostly but every now and then I want to embroider, my theme is birds mostly or nature and your work has encouraged me to give it a go. Please keep the vid's coming, thank you.
I just stumbled onto your video. It's amazing and your work is gorgeous. What type of material is that you are stitching on? It looks like linen and can i purchase the fabric online? (I'm in the US). Thanks for sharing your beautiful work, talent, and instruction.
Aww, that is very sweet thank you!! The fabric is a cotton or polycotton. I use uncalled fabrics, so it was probably a shirt. It might tell you in the first video
Lovely embroidery and excellent tutorial. Makes a person feel they are capable of doing this themselves. I found the music very distracting, intrusive, and irritating though. I wanted to turn the sound off but had to keep it on to hear your comments.
Hi Ruth ! I really like your vids but also think it would be nice to see the first stitches in more detail. You did say it's the stem stitch but I would like to see more in detail your technique ( like explained for dummies XD ) since your completed work does have quite a nice finish to it. Something I have yet to accomplish! Thank you!!!!
Valeria Paciocco Thank you for taking the time to write. I have since realised that it is not very clear, so I have made one video of a lotus flower stitched in real time and a wagtail in the same style as the chaffinch. I am also going to do a series of beginner stitch videos in the near future, so hopefully your questions will be answered, but please feel free to ask more. Have a great weekend
that's AMAZING !!!! you are a real artist !!! i've never done embroidery . i do cross stitching. after your video i am looking forward to try!!! thank you so much for the video )))
Hi there, the eye is stitched in back stitch with straight stitch on the top, the beak is stem stitch and the head back is stem stitch as well, does that make sense? There is no long and short stitch in the bird at all. Let me know if you are still stuck. Happy stitching :)
Sylverlilly Use whatever works for you, I would call it stem stitch because they are lots of lines of stem stitches pushed up together, it looks like long and short when the sections are small. Does that make sense? Thank you for the comments though, they are all greatly appreciated

Me inscrevi no canal !
Even at a quarter speed it isn’t all that clear how the stitching is done. If you could do a really close up of a few stitches, then cut and bring us back in when the section is done it would be more watchable! Congrats on the bird though, I’d love to see a Robin!
Hi Ruth! Thank you for this video, it is very helpful indeed. Especially for the beginners like myself. Only I have a question: what do you use to apply the sketch on a fabric, please?
+Adventurous Voyageur I am so pleased you liked it. The sketch is done with a tracing using dressmakers carbon paper, there is a video called Transferring the Design in Embroidery. Technique by Craft Jitsu that goes before this video and will explain it fully
+Adventurous Voyageur I am just uploading it now, so if I have done the right dance to the internet gods, hopefully it will be up this evening....if not it might be a few days :)

Beautiful work! but I couldn't watch the whole video because it was way too fast! to the point it hunted my eyes! i wanted to see how you were stitching but it was imposible with all the fast movement!
would like to learn to embroider just like you, I know little, thank you very much for your video.Your work is really beautiful, Your work is an art created in thread
This is not what I would call a class as it is far too fast. For beginners like myself could you slow down please? I would love to be able to do this but this video is not what I need at all and it is a shame because if this video was done properly it would make a great class. Please consider beginners when you are doing your classes as we want to learn as well as the more advanced among us. I have not done this type of craft since a child so I consider myself a beginner again.
Gracias

I appreciate the feedback, I got a lot of comments about the speed, so I did another on stitching a wagtail and also one in real-time of sewing a lotus flower.
I like how it’s just a nice British woman talking about embroidery while there’s just rock music playing in the back
Had to switch off didn't like music at all. So agitating
I don't like the music at all and it's not necessary to have constant noise in the background. So many people ruin their videos that way.
It’s like someone hijacked they’re music, goes from acid rock to the theme music of fantasy Island

My heart melts at 8:50 when you describe the feathers as "quite fluffy". Cuteness overload.
thought i was the only one who noticed that :)
You have convinced me to try two strands with a finer needle. Your work is perfect! Thanks for sharing your method of tracing, too.
Sharon Opstbaum Thank you so much! I can be very persuasive ;-) I would love to know how you get on with it

Thank you, you are very kind.
It would be much more helpful if you did the first 4 or5 stitches slow, then speed up
HIon
I can't see anything on how to do this. Its way too fast. Maybe several stit hes slow so we can actually see what is being done.

If you separate your threads first and then line them back up I find they don't knot so often.

Why you decided to duplicate the fabric?
It adds stability to the stitches and makes them less likely to wrinkle the fabric. Thanks for the question. Xxx
