    I like how it’s just a nice British woman talking about embroidery while there’s just rock music playing in the back

      I don't like the music at all and it's not necessary to have constant noise in the background. So many people ruin their videos that way.

      It’s like someone hijacked they’re music, goes from acid rock to the theme music of fantasy Island

    I don't care if you made mistakes we all do. I was told by the woman who taught me how to do bobbin lace that no one will know where you've made your mistakes. And my mother in law favorite saying was a blind man would be glad to see the difference. I know that doesn't go in today's PC coach or but mistakes happen . And it's beautiful

You did say it's the stem stitch but I would like to see more in detail your technique ( like explained for dummies XD ) since your completed work does have quite a nice finish to it. Hi there, the eye is stitched in back stitch with straight stitch on the top, the beak is stem stitch and the head back is stem stitch as well, does that make sense? There is no long and short stitch in the bird at all. Let me know if you are still stuck. Happy stitching :)

    • @Sylverlilly
      @Sylverlilly 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ruth Norbury it appears to be long and short stitch to me also but I'm must be confused. I'd use long and short though yours looks perfect

    • @ruthnorbury53
      @ruthnorbury53  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sylverlilly Use whatever works for you, I would call it stem stitch because they are lots of lines of stem stitches pushed up together, it looks like long and short when the sections are small. Does that make sense? Thank you for the comments though, they are all greatly appreciated

    This is not what I would call a class as it is far too fast. For beginners like myself could you slow down please? I would love to be able to do this but this video is not what I need at all and it is a shame because if this video was done properly it would make a great class. Please consider beginners when you are doing your classes as we want to learn as well as the more advanced among us. I have not done this type of craft since a child so I consider myself a beginner again.

    hermoso trabajo, quizás las primeras puntadas en cada parte debiese ser con el video más lento para poder apreciar. Aunque uno baje la velocidad, igual es demasiado rápido. Gracias

    European, specially English embroidery is very demanding.More emphasize on the technique then on the impression.As said in my area: embroidery must be made by very narrow stiches. Unfortunately, I have not managed to see what stiches you have used although the bird is awesome.

      Normally two strands, so I believe it will be 2.

  • @superalicestar
    @superalicestar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    It's a shame that you fast forwarded ('ff') the wrong parts. I wanted to see how you do at least some of your stitches (slowing down the video did't much help either). The part where you pull the thread through the needle, however, could have been 'ff'. ;) But the result is beautiful! :)

    • @ruthnorbury53
      @ruthnorbury53  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I appreciate the feedback, I got a lot of comments about the speed, so I did another on stitching a wagtail and also one in real-time of sewing a lotus flower.
