Honestly I’m an 81 year old crafter and I live alone, I’ve just found you,I feel as if you’re in the room with me I love watching you you’re like a breath of fresh air thank you 😊
I'm 79 on my own as well x
What a lovely thing to say Josephine, I’m so pleased you found me and I can keep you company. Xxx
And you too Joy. Xxx
I agree! Just like having you in my craft room chatting about all the makes!
I do love your Christmas jumpers and of course everything else you make. A very talented lady.
Thank you so much xxx
Hi Jeanette, oh look at Marmalade isn’t she the cutest 😍. I love sweater number 13 😊.
The grips you brought from the fishing shop are the same ones I brought from Amazon a few years back to help me change all my different ear and nose piercings as they was recommended because you can hold the tiny bars and studs 👍🏻.
I hope you have a wonderful day today xx
Oh what a great idea, I never thought of them for that. I use to struggle with my belly button ring. Xx
I can’t tell you how much I love your podcast. It’s like visiting with a friends. I can’t wait to see Santa’s helper
That’s really nice of you to say, thank you so very much. Xxxx
Lovely chat today! The pajamas look like they should have a bit more gusset definitely! I’m sure you’ll figure it out! Really love seeing all your makes Jeanette! Take care x
It took a while Heather but I got there with the pjs, with a little help from my subscribers. Xx
Lovely makes,lovely fabric.❤
Thank you so much.
Such a lovely Marmalade! I like her pj top and the bottoms will look lovely once you remove the sts and sew it with the long part as the top. You have so many fun plans. I hope that you enjoy this week with your crafting!!
I’ve fixed her pjs now, thank goodness. It was really bothering me I could get my head around how to fix it. Lol
Your demonstration of that lovely stitch was wonderful Jeanette. I used to use this stitch when making octopus for a preemie, as it doesn't have any gaps or show any stuffing. It's worth using it for toys if you can. Thank you so much for the recommendation of the Spencer Wells, I'm definitely getting some. I was making some pixies last Christmas, like you do, and really struggled with the limbs and gave up in the end. I can finish them off now ready for this Christmas. Happy crafting xxx
Hi Steph
Hope you’re keeping well. I did like the under then over stitch. It found it really hurt my wrist. Maybe if I persevered I’d get use to it, who knows. Xxx
Hi Jeanette, Marmalade looked so adorable! Perhaps you can switch out her outfits every new season or holiday. I think maybe her pajama bottoms need a longer inseam from the top of the waist to the bottom of the crotch area. I am so impressed that you’ve already knitted sweater #13. I absolutely love that color combination. (Red & gold were actually my high school colors.). TJ Maxx & Home Goods are my favorite stores to shop in. It’s like a treasure hunt since you never know what you might find. I am really looking forward to our chat next Sunday to plan out our MAL. It would be lovely if Karen could also join us. Again I absolutely did not mind it having to be rescheduled. 💕
Thank you so much Karen, you were very understanding. You’re right about marmalades pjs, I’d sewn them up all wrong, that’s what you get from not reading the pattern correctly. Lol lol
Marmalade is so adorable . I made everything in the book for my granddaughter, including the pyjamas. Whatever you make will be wonderful for her and she looks perfect to me. Just go with it and enjoy the make. I'm in the NW today is Tuesday and it's raining. Take it slowly have a glorious week crafting.. ❤❤
I must admit I do have a soft spot for marmalade. Lol I’m seriously thinking she needs a sibling. Lol lol
Heya 👋 that hedgehog looks adorable 😍 🦔🍄 stop tempting me to buy stuff 😂😂x
Go on you know you want to. Lol lol you could make a long with us. Xxx
Oh Jeanette, I had to chuckle at the pyjama trousers that seemed to be everyone's dream of long slim legs and a dainty bottom - however, like many of us, it would seem they needed shorter and wider legs and a less-than-dainty bottom! 🤣I look forward to seeing Marmalade (hopefully with her modesty covered) in her finished PJs. Love your vlogs!
Tim was rolling around the living room room in stitches when I showed him, he’s a very brave man. Lol lol. 😂
Jeanette it kinda looks like the trousers have two fronts rather than a back and front. The back needs extra room for the bum. I know you’re an experienced sewer and would spot that but thought I mention it. The fabric is amazing x
Yes they were all wrong. Lol I’ve unpicked them and put them together but right this time. Lol lol
Marmalade looks so lovely, def unpick the u part crutch and one needs to go in the leg the other way round right sides together
You make me so happy…..love all your plans!
Oh thanks so sweet, thank you so very much. Xxx
A while ago I did start to make Marmalade and some of her clothes - I very rarely abandon anything I’ve started but I did find the clothes very frustrating - they are probably languishing deep in a naughty corner somewhere…..Well done on everything you’ve done - an amazing amount of work.
Honestly sue if I hadn’t shown her off to you guys she would also be in a corner. Lol lol. But I’m glad I persevered as I got there in the end. Xxx
@craftycleggscreations You're putting me to shame. I did pick up a couple of pairs of forceps from the fishing tackle shop. Ridiculously, it's about 5 mins from my house, I've only ever been in it to get new crabbers for the grandchildren. Thanks for pointing me and others in the right direction - I already put them in use this afternoon - for stuffing a donkey!
What a lovely cosy catch up Jeanette. Just what was needed on a cold wet blustery day!! You are such a natural, it's like having you sat in the room with me!! 😀
Thank you so so much xxx
Hi Jeanette. I love your cheery down-to-earth podcasts. Thank you so much. Marmalade is really cute and I love the colours of the yarn in your dishcloth. x
Thank you xx
Hi Jeanette, wow, you’ve been busy. Love everything you’ve done in July so far. I’m down in Wiltshire and the weather today has been like winter. So wet and windy and depressing. However, I’ve been looking after my youngest grandson today and this morning he had a good nap as he’s got a bit of a cold. So I sat down whilst he slept and got on with my eldest granddaughters knitted ballet cardigan, watching the rain through the window. What a way to spend a Monday morning? Xxx
It’s like winter here in the NW. I’m currently sat with a blanket on knitting. Xx
Thank you Jeanette love all your makes I am so tempted with the advent jumpers love the colours for no 14. 😊
Oh you should do them, there really easy once you e done one or 2 and they look so nice when there finished. Xxxx
Jeanette you are giving me the perfect nudge to keep trying on my Christmas in July projects. I’m a rather novice crocheter and all (yes all) my projects are giving me grief!!! Even the new knitting technique is throwing me off annnd the hand sewing project (a Japanese technique) is questionable 🤨. We are travelling in northern BC,Canada (Prince Rupert area) and rarely in service so I am often relying on instinct and the vague instructions. Oh boy, wish me luck!
Oh and that badger is adorable! Thank goodness it isn’t November and I’m trying to accomplish these for Christmas. 😂
Oh it sounds like you have a lot on your plate I do hope you manage your to finish something soon, keep at it you’re get there. Enjoy your travels it sounds bliss. Xxx
Well Jeanette you never fail to surprise with all your work and ideas. I look forward to your next vlog to see your progress xx
Thank you so much. Xxx
It’s been over 110+ in California and it’s too hot to be anywhere outside. I’ve been busy, made a hair crochet scrunchie, learned to make crocheted wrist warmers, read a full novel and cooked food. Love your enthusiasm in the things you make, I enjoy you and your vlogs. Hello to hubby Tim and pup Zack.
Oh my goodness…. Now that’s hot 🥵 Isn’t it a blessing we have crafts to keep us occupied? Unfortunately here in the UK we stay indoors to keep out of the wind, rain and cold. 🥶 I guess it’s exactly the same predicament to be in just the opposite ends of the scale. Xxxxx
Jeanette thanks for all your chat. Marmalade is lovely. Hope you get her PJ bottoms sorted.🐇❤️
Thank you so much. Marmalades pjs are all sorted now, thank goodness. Xx
I like getting excited to see the progress in your crafting. Enjoy your evening.
Thank you so much. Xxx
That was an excellent demonstration, I couldn’t work out how to do that So thanks and my word you have done a lot all ready xxx❤❤❤
🥰🥰
Hi Jeanette I love your little marmalade she came out beautifully x
Thank you so much Julie xxx
I like marmalade’s nightgown, the feet do make pj’s difficult she looks beautiful just put the bow on and I’d call it a finish. The dishcloth is lovely, the cotton you used really worked out nice. Love your note book ideas the fabrics and note let’s are adorable, enjoy your week love and hugs xx
Thank you so much Anne. Hope you are well, have a great week xxxx
Another great video you do brighten my day. All your makes are so nice. ❤
How kind. Thank you so much xxx
Just love your chat, you are so easy to listen to.
That’s so kind, thank you xxx
I was having a wonder round TK Max yesterday and saw all the lovely notebooks. I was good and resisted. I have a few unused on my shelf x
I’m obsessed with notebook and paper napkins 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ lol lol
Hello Jeanette!! So many beautiful projects and I am excited about them all! Marmalade is looking so cute. I know you will figure his pants out!! Your sweaters/jumpers are coming along beautifully! I wish I could knit one myself. One day I will sit down and take a try at it. I am more than excited about the Christmas hedgehog!!! Oh how marvelous it is!
The teas all sound delicious! I love berries! Rhubarb is delicious when in season. My mom has a Steawberry Rhubarb Custard pie recipe that is devine!! The tea sounds really good!!
I cannot wait to see the notebook covers! Your teasing me!! Lol😂
Looking forward to your next video!! Enjoy your week my friend!!
I haven’t tried any of the new teas yet but I will do this evening after dinner, I wish I could have it with a slice of your mums strawberry rhubarb custard pie. lol lol
Oh yes, they work great for stuffing amigurumi legs and arms also. Great buy.......
I love them already. Such a useful tool. Xxx
Hi Jeanette!Wonder whether we could all join with you in a 'hedgehog' make along in various crafts(Doesn't have to have prizes etc as it might be too much pressure on you getting prizes etc)just for fun?Just an idea🤔Thanks again for your enthusiasm 🤗
I think it’s a fantastic idea. I’ll have a word with my friend when we FaceTime and Sunday and maybe we could get an hashtag so we can see everyone’s makes. Xx
Good evening marmalades trousers you have sewn the short length as gusset and it should have been short legs and longer length for gusset so the trousers will only be half the length of yours
look where the opening is for the tail on pattern and it will help you see
Hope this makes sense
Love your vlogs x x
Made perfect sense. Thank you so much, I’ve managed to put them right. Xxxx
I love that hedgehog❤ That crochet stitch you showed is known also as the YUYO (yarn under, yarn over). Lots of people use it for amigurumi because a) it looks great and b) it's tighter, so stuffing can't show through. It can be a problem for people who are prone to tendinitis in their wrists because the hand motion is different from the traditional YOYO stitch. As always, I really enjoy listening to your ideas and thoughts and explanations. You are a bright light in my day..
I do like the YUYO stitch but it does hurt my wrist. I think I’ll be sticking to my YOYO which I normally use just because of the pain. Xxx
I haven’t attempted the trousers for Marmalade as they look weird ! They are a funny concept. Loving you future MAL plans xx
I put them together all wrong Lindsey. Thank goodness for subscribers advice 🥰
I agree with an earlier comment regarding where you went wrong with the trousers. These are probably joined incorrectly. The trouser legs should be very short so the fabric needs turning around so that you have the long length (currently your trouser legs) as the waist. If you can't visualize this, take another look at the finished item in the book. Marmalade needs that extra fabric to go around her tummy. The gusset will need to be quite large for that area which is currently where you inside leg seams are. Hope that is starting to make sense to you. Also, I am loving the look of the knitted hedgehog. I have never knitted a toy before but fancy making this as part of the MAL in August.
Thank you for you help Natasha I completely understood your explanation. I have managed to put her pj bottoms right and she said she’s very happy I did. Lol lol
@@craftycleggscreations that's great news, well done. Glad I could help
Oh my goodness Jeanette those fruity teas look amazing! I was in London earlier this year and I visited the Twinings tea shop. I treated myself to some Apple, Cinnamon and Raisin tea which is really yummy. I also get a Gin and Tonic green tea from Fortnum and Masons. It has been tipping with rain here in Devon so I have stayed in for most of the day and started crocheting a wavy blanket with some Women's Institute yarn I get form Hobbycraft as it's been that sort of a day.
I’m so over all the rain. ☔️ I love our home but even I’m bored of being indoors.
Timothy and I live our trips to London.
We have so much we want to do but we just can not risk leaving little Zak at the moment. It’s a double edge sword for us right now 😟😟
Hello Jeanette… I’ve finally got round to having a go at making marmalade…. I’ve looked at the pyjama bottom pattern and I think you’ve sewn it upside down…🤔🤔the long bit is the body and the short end is the leg… I’m hoping I’m right and that helps…if not, I’ll be in strife when I get round to making them..!!!!💕
Thank you so much Sue, I read your comment this morning and went and unpicked the and yes your right I’d stitched them together wrong 😑. Xxx
An easy mistake, as usually the legs are the longest..!!!! So glad we got it sorted… love your enthusiasm with all your crafts, especially all the toy making at our age..!!! And no, we are never too old…💕💕🤭🤭
Hi Jeanette, I'm sorry you're disappointed with the pj bottoms but without seeing the pattern I can't advise, lorraineball7683 has advised you. You demonstrated crochet stitch used in the head of Santa's little helper very well, and the finished stitch reminds me of Moss stitch in knitting. Jumper 13 is great, you're keeping up with knitting 3 per month, but how you're going to do everything you plan is beyond me 🤣 x
I agree with you Maureen. I always over plan. Lol lol I get so carried away. lol lol
Hi Jeanette. I love to watch your work. Unfortunately I think you have done what so many of have done before. Get a piece of calico and try the pants again. I think you have joined the legs together instead of the crutch. The crutch should be the longer seam and the leg should be the short one. good luck on the remake. Bye from Queensland
Oh I’m glad I’m not the only one 🤨
lol. There unpicked and this time thank goodness they are right.
Poor marmalade she did look very peculiar in them 😂😅😂
@@craftycleggscreations Glad I could help.
Hi Janette, your crochet demo was very clear and useful. I love doing crochet that way on stuffed things as it’s a tighter stitch and the stuffing doesn’t show though. One of my pet hates is seeing stuffing through the crochet 🤣. Marmalade is just beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your Santas little helper. My yarn arrived today to make a start, but not sure when that’ll be. Thank you for the recommendation 💕
I agree regarding seeing stuffing through your work. Looks awful in my opinion 🤷♀️ xx
Hi Jeanette, I have been trying to contact you regarding the sparkly yarn. But to no avail. Marmalade is supercute! She looks fab as she is. Your Christmas dish cloth looks elegant, real christmassy!. Your advent jumpers are beautiful Jeanette, in both colourways. For 13& 14. I have been crocheting granny square angels. And thinking of making the Christmas tree. Mandy xxx😊
Are you on instagram Amanda? I’m having problems with my emails for some reason 🥲
@craftycleggscreations hi Jeanette, no. I'm not on instagram or Facebook ect. Xxx
Could you add a waistband to marmalades pyjama bottoms to lengthen the body (in the gingham would look nice).
I’ve unpicked them and put them right. Thank you for your input. Xxx
Hi Jeanette, You always ask if we're all well, just letting you know I'm fine thank you and I had a lovely weekend with my family watching England play, like you I really enjoy the international tournament's. ⚽ I love your Santa's little helper and when I do amigurumi I mostly use the over, under stitch it is so neat. I have a question if you don't mind? I've used yarn art jeans before and love it although I purchased it from abroad and it was quite expensive, could you please tell me where you purchase yours from? I would really like to get more. I thoroughly enjoy all your vlogs and your Christmas in July vlogs have encouraged me to get prepared for Christmas myself. thank you. 🤗
@@SonshineandSweetpea I’m so pleased you enjoyed your weekend. I’m really enjoying the football, tbh a lot more than I thought I would. 🤷🏽♀️. The yarn art jeans yarn is amazing ( I think ) and so so affordable. I’ll leave the link for you for where I purchase mine from. www.katsiscraftythings.co.uk/products/yarnart-jeans-50g. Enjoy the semi final tonight. Xxx
@@craftycleggscreations Come on England 🏴 ⚽️ Thank you for the link Jeanette. 👍🏼🤗
I just love watching you. I was wondering if you could share where you got the Santa's Elf pattern, please
Of course here is the link www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1257471855/. And hurry it’s less than half price at the moment. Xxx
Hello Jeanette ❤ what a lovely episode!! I’m wondering, with Marmalade’ trousers, if you could use some stretch ribbing (like we have on cuffs of windcheaters or sweatshirts etc) and attach that to the top of her trousers to lengthen them and make them stay up around her tummy? What do you think? I love your gift idea with the notepad - I’m thinking that it could be the same one that I downloaded last week - on Instagram? Have a wonderful few days and enjoy your summery weather - says Elizabeth with all her layers on in Tasmania 😂
Thank you so much Elizabeth for your advice, thank goodness I’ve managed to correct them, I’d sewn them up all wrong 😑
yes you night constructed upside down i think the leg bit is the top bit but Marmalade look cute
Yes you’re right. Lol lol Thank goodness I’ve managed to correct them and they fit perfectly. Xxx
Can you add a band around waist to lengthen the stride? Marmalade is adorable!!❤😊
Great episode as usual. Is it the focus folder you’re making? I’ve got the pattern 😊
Yes it is. I really hope I can do it. I love how versatile it is and great as gifts for my friends. Xxx
Those are called “hemostat” clamps in the US. Many uses these days … 🙄 but I love YOUR use of them!!
🥰🥰
I think they may be upside the crutch piece I’d unpick the u bit
Now I haven’t a clue but have you stitched the leg seam as the gusset and visa versa? Her legs are short, well the bit the legs would be on, and the gusset is quite long.
Yes you’re right. I’ve unpicked them and sewn them the right way up. 😜
Can you contact the designer/author of marmalade? If you get it wrong what chance is there for us? X
Dear Jeanette, the trousers are sewed wrong. Open the inner leglines and the short bodyline. Then put one leg into the other leg ,rightside on rightside and sew the short curvy line together. I hope, helping you. Excuse my foolish vocabulary. 🧶🫂Claudia
Thank you so much Claudia, I’ve managed to correct them. Xx
❤you sure have got a lot done🎉🎉🎉
Love ur dishcloth,,,,I have that pattern and never knit it,,,yet,,,,😅
