I love Galleries Lafayette. Even if I buy nothing, the store is shopping heaven! BHV and Printemps also. The dome at Printemps is beautiful. There are loads of fun stores all over and I just love looking. Looking forward to your new series!
Bonjour…Please offer a video on best places to live in Paris, showcasing the most affordable to the most luxurious and the safest areas. Merci beaucoup.
Thanks, I can't wait to shop! I'm flying personal item only on the way to Paris and bringing an extra carry-on bag for the way home so I can really take advantage!
Merci beaucoup pour cette splendide et superbe information culturelle pour acheter en France et les magnifiques magasins de la belle ville de Paris, thanks a lot for this magnificent information for buy in the wonderfuls stores of the lovely city of Paris
Dear Les Frenchies - I went to Paris a month ago for a 5-day business trip. Two months prior, I subscribed to your channel and found gems of info I couldn't find anywhere! Can I just say 5 days still isnt enough to immerse myself to the French culture - and I cant wait to go back!! Thank you so much for all the content you do ❤
I'm not a shopper and bought nothing when I was in Paris in July (well...except wonderful food and delightful visits in museums and sites). However, I still love following along on your video.
My husband and I are going to Paris soon and I have watched several of your videos. They are very helpful, bc we are only there for a few days and they have helped me to narrow down everything from how to take the metro to the best places to eat. This video discusses shopping... I only get a one time chance to shop for an hour or so. Where would you recommend that is most affordable ??
I was just in Paris last week and picked up some white and blue house numbers at BHV! Down in the hardware section lower floor. Love your videos Antoine and Colleen. My wife and I kept our eyes open all 10 days hoping to run into you filming one of your videos. Maybe next time
So, I'm back from my two days trip to Paris. It was absolutely amazing. Better than I expected. Please show to people Parc Les Buttes Chaumont. It's so interesting and beautiful. Montmartre, Marais, Latin district were fascinating. Older people playing boules, French chic, variety of people, delicious cheese, street musicians ... I want back!!!
This vid was so informative. We just back from France. We only spent one day when we got in from London and one day when we returned from AIX en Provence. We were in Port Grimaud, St Tropez and AIX. We did get the chance to eat at Chez Savy as per your recommendation. Coming back in a couple of years to spend a month in a few places in France. Will definitely do some shopping in Paris before we return to the states.
Thank you! It was a nice nostalgic video, I lived in Paris for many years and your video is very good for the addresses and places to go shopping. I used to go rue des Canettes and rue du Four, the boutiques were incredible but there must be much more good places now.
Love your videos! I have to disagree with BHV being comparable to JCPenny! It is a higher store more like Macys. BHV is actually connected to Galeries Lafayette, maybe owned by the same company? I love the food floor in the Galeries Lafayette. They have any and evrything one could ever need or want!
Iwas going to write the same thing. Though BHV doesn't carry the high end designers brands, it's nothing like JC Penney. In fact, they seem to have taken it up a notch since it became part of the Galeries Lafayette family. If you're looking for bargains, don't go to BHV thinking you'll find them there. But the lower level is worth perusing. That's where my husband heads while I look around...it's filled with all sorts of things you'd go to Home Depot for and more.
I absolutely love your videos. You’ve given me a few ideas of new places to try. However, as a frequent visitor to Paris, I was surprised that you omitted the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré/Rue Saint-Honoré from this video. I know that the Champs-Élysées area (more specifically the Triangle D'or) is popular for luxury shopping, but in my opinion the top luxury shopping in Paris for clothing, shoes, and accessories is actually on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré/Rue Saint-Honoré.
This is great! Do you know the most decorated areas for Christmas in Paris? Or best shopping/eating during the holiday season? I've heard that Christmas markets are great in Europe, but didn't know where they were. Thank you and take care.
Not the video I needed LOL. I started watching your vids a couple of weeks ago. Maybe next year I'll make it to Paris. I'd probably spend everything on fragrances. I started quite a collection when I bought a lot for my mother from France perfumers. I do mean thousands of dollars. I want to go to the Grasse area
I am new to the channel and I just absolutely love your videos. I am planning my first visit to Paris and your videos have been so helpful. Since I am planning to stay at an Arb&B I would like to know the names of the Supermarkets and your recommendations. I love going to the local grocery store when visiting a new country. I usually look for local spices, coffee, etc.
Hi,,, We’re coming on march 21 to 24, hope to see you, we have your travel guyid, we’re from California beach community,,, capitola, please look it up and come see us , and thanks for all your videos,,, we’ve watched almost all of yours,,,,
Did you make a past video on shopping for butter in groceries? I’ll be there soon and want to bring back about a kilo of a really good brand of French salted butter. Also the best mayonnaise to make eggs mayonnaise.
So cool, J'adore Printemps Dept. Store and shopping in St Germain/les quartiers latins. Paris is epic for shopping where one can spend a little too much money, because there are so many gorgeous "things".
With todays luggage drama and the ease of moving around Paris, how do you recommend bringing trinkets and souvenirs home to USA? Especially French chocolate and macaroons? I have a extra small suitcase to fit inside a regular carry on that will be virtually empty on the way there. I thought I can fill it and still be able to carry both on for the trip home. Also would consider shipping home. I’m sure it’s pricey??? Any thoughts? Also, what are current COVID requirements? You two are adorable! I love your videos! Can’t wait until we come next May!!!
I’m sorry, I’ll be traveling to Paris in couple of months, and I will be bringing a lot back home! First and foremost - don’t buy your ticket with any transfer, just fly directly - that will help! But even with a drama - there’s no way I’m going to Paris and coming back home empty handed! Chocolate is coming with me, as well as some clothes and souvenirs! So thank god and Les Frenchies for this video!
I was in Paris a little over a week ago. I went to the FedEx store and sent myself my shopping trophies. I didn’t have to keep up with anything. Everything arrived on schedule and unbroken. I’ll do that again.
I am a new subscriber.. wonderful video.. Very helpful. I Came across your channel when i was searching for some informative video.. I am excited and nervous as i will be coming to Paris for the 1st time in 2 weeks and do not speak French.
Les Halles has certainly improved from the white monstrosity that it was in the 80s. Love the shops on the south side of St Germain. Thanks guys for a great video. 🙏
Love today's vlog! As someone who loves to discover different areas to shop when on vacation, i think you did a marvelous job of highlighting the various neighbourhoods and their specialties!
Having had a nightmare experience on my 2019 trip of trying to change Metro lines at Les Halles I am NEVER going in there EVER. I liked Monoprix which is a bit like Wilcos in the UK,depending on the location the store can be more or less upmarket. I know that's not exactly high end shopping but more my level, lol! This time I got to walk down the Champs Elysee but it wasn't a bit like Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face.😏 At the top end most of the pavement was up like they're going to repave it so that was not chic at all then further down it just seemed all tatty and a bit ropey, but I was tired so that influenced me.
I enjoy your videos. I've just been to your city but I definitely did not want to shop! I wanted to explore around and see all the places I missed first time round. I mostly succeeded but there is a few to justify another visit if I get the chance! I loved going on the normal local buses (thanks for previous advice on how to use navigo card) it was better than a Tour Bus as the normal bus goes off the main boulevards and into the neighbourhoods where people actually live. It's so enjoyable to go into local neighbourhoods and there are usually really great independent little shops selling artwork, scented soap etc just like in the big stores but much more fun to find and seek out.
Always ask the locals, they know names and prices particularly in Paris. They will ask you if you want true French or imports. I sont anything anywher close to American when I travel. Antique shops are pricey, stick to the fairs and antique meets on the outskirts of town.
I am so confused. I have heard from many people on these you tube channels, not to bring backpacks because they can get sliced. I just saw that you have a backpack. Please advice me I know to put it in the front when we are on the bus but my husband wants to have it on his back
Backpack on back screams "tourists". Be careful. Because you cannot see behind you if someone comes to steal anything out of your bag. I'd rather wear some crossbody bag, that I ll have in front of me: always within eyeshot, uneasy to grab for thieves.
Even on my first visit to Paris, I didn't like GF, it's too crowded and the Chinese tourists were throwing away shopping bags on the streets. I am not sure how I stumbled onto Le Bon Marché, but it's a better shopping experience, and it's the first department store in the world. It's a league above GF and Printemps (I only like the Louvre branch of Printemps). I would go as far to say that Le Bon Marché is the best department store in the world, following it are some of the best department stores like Daimaru and Takashimaya in Japan, Nordiska Kompaniet in Sweden, KaDeWe in Germany, Harrods in the UK, Paragon in Thailand, and Paragon in Singapore.
@@LesFrenchiesTravel Thank you! We got engaged in November 🥰 I can’t find any dresses I like in Australia so hoping to see what Paris has to offer when I’m over there in June.
Two notes to add: 1. The Galerie Dior is open and is a wonderful place to see the history of how Dior started in a magnificent building. 2. If you shop at the Bon Marche and need to get the process started for the tax refund, note that they do not accept just a picture of your passport and need you to present your passport in person. I had to go back to my hotel to get my passport and return to the store; a bit snooty.
@@LesFrenchiesTravel Well, in the 5 places that I shopped at, only Bon Marche required the original passport. The other stores were okay with just the picture in my phone. :)
You forgot to mention Marne La Vallée shopping area with La Vallée Village… Probably best shopping experience in Paris For thrifting, behind BHV, many thrift shop or Guérissol in almost every arrondissement
The Paris Flea Market, Marche Aux Puces de Paris Saint-Ouen is also great for antiques/vintage furniture and objects.
I love Galleries Lafayette. Even if I buy nothing, the store is shopping heaven! BHV and Printemps also. The dome at Printemps is beautiful. There are loads of fun stores all over and I just love looking. Looking forward to your new series!

Thank you 😊

I’d love to hear about affordable shops in Paris for everyday shopping like Monoprixe or the French Pharmacies. Loved this video too!
Thanks guys. Great work.

One of my favorite part in a trip... a must watch... 💙💙💙

The most beautiful sight of Paris is on top of the Samaritaine.
Interesting. Quite true. But not for the « artists » at Montmartre. That was in another time. Today only for tourists.

The BHV men's store had a wonderful designer space. I bought my son a few pieces at the Sandro dept. Not JCP prices, though I wish
The indoor Mall at Place d'Italie has a wide selection of more affordable shops, and a large Carrefour. Printemps has a branch here also.
