"You made people that didn't even know you proud"
Facts Teddy. Knew little about Kambosos before this and even saw what I thought would be holes Teo would exploit in training. He showed up, put Teo on his ass, got back up off the canvas and fought to a victory in Teofimos hometown. THEN handled himself gracefully in his victory and didn't even bother getting bothered with Teo saying he won 10 rds. I'm definitely a fan now and I went into this backing Teo.

Lopez suffered from ego and arrogance and credit to George for the great effort that exploited the poor attitude of Lopez. It was still a close fight and Lopez still performed at a high level. Can Lopez learn from this? I'm not sure because in a relatively short period of time he turned into a jerk and he could not even accept defeat like a man.

Excellent interview by Teddy Atlas, George is so humble, greater things to come he is a true champion, we are so proud of him, eventhough George is born in Australian he is Greek, and on the night he had the Greek and Australia flags on him, as a Greek Australian that made me so proud as our blood and heritage is Greek and he showed so much respect to Greece and his family.

It is obvious what kind of ethos he was raised with.
I'd bet you my left nut that he, like many of us in the Greek diaspora, was raised with the Illiad and Odyssey as bedtime stories, with Leonidas, Alexander and Pericles as heroes. The way he speaks of his grandfather, it is telling of his upbringing.
And maybe it is more important to us in the diaspora, our heritage and identity matters more to us than for the people back home in Greece.
George just happened to end up in the spotlight, we are millions who live and act the values that the world admire in George.
