You can also us white vinegar on real wood but make sure your mop or what ever us squeezed out to the max. I got that tip from some cleaners when I had my 1950s real wood floors redone.
I’m not a professional cleaner, but I clean with baking soda and vinegar. Especially with toilet. After you flush, put a cup or 2 of vinegar, in the tube that fills with water. It flushes out the mold that lives in the toilet bowl. Stops it from forming that black gunk. Also keeps hard water from forming
This doesn’t work for my toilets. That tube puts the water at a hole in the bottom of the toilet. The rim jets are missed entirely. It’s super annoying because I have to fill the tank instead of just that tube.
I use distilled vinegar and dawn in water as hot as I can tolerate (while wearing gloves) for MOST things, and Murphy’s Oil Soap on our hardwood floors. Bona to spot-clean when one of the puppers has an accident. I HAVE used Sprayway to restore some original stained glass that the previous owners had slopped wood stain onto during a renovation and it works wonders but is really harsh smelling. I use Perfect Glass for mirrors and spot cleaning external windows that cannot handle ammonia. I’m curious to try the Zep wall cleaner! I only worry that it might strip paint?
I'm a professional housecleaner for 36 years, I consult installers and manufacturers....they recommend small amount of Dawn in cold water, dry immediately with a dry mop or dry towels to shine😊 edit: this method is safe for all floor surfaces. 😀
@@elisegreen2024 I use Bona hardwood floor cleaner. I suggest you visit your local commercial flooring store. To have natural wood floors and dishes mean natural. I used Bona Nordic Seal and Bona Mega One Waterborne Wood floor Satin finish. I hope this helps.
As much as I enjoy these videos, I’d appreciate comparable stuff to the NO products. (Like the wood floor cleaner: 2 no products but then no suggestion to use instead)
Idk why she said no to bona, worked really well on our natural hardwood floors over the years and they have another one for planks that’s pretty good too
Just don’t use it on stairs because it will make them a fall hazard. I would suggest using vinegar and water because that’s what I used, and it was very economical.
I personally love Bona for my wood floors. Cleans great and they are gorgeous! I use Mr. Clean Freak for my kitchen counters and my stove, does a great job and smells so good.
I live in an old rental house that the landlords do absolutely nothing 😢 would Bona help the old untreated wood floors? I've tried everything to bring them even a little bit of shine and nothing helps them and I have to try and fix thing's myself because I can't and want get a person to redo the floors that they don't do it because by the time I pay them rent on this falling down house, light bill water and my other bills I'm pretty much broke
If you didn’t have it inspected afterwards and it’s a more harmful mold please have an inspector look. Just because it looks clean, and you THINK you got all of the mold off you most likely did not. Especially if the mold is coming from a crack or hard to reach place. If it’s a simple non-toxic mold don’t bother, but when it’s actually a toxic mold please take care of it professionally.
All of these things are full of chemicals there are natural ways to clean. For mold I use a mixture of water with tea tree oil. I spray it, but it sit for a little bit and then wipe it all down in the mold is gone I do not use any of the cleaners on her list at all. Bleach is the worst thing you can use in your home. All of these chemicals are so harmful for you and your family.
Make yourself familiar with the local janitorial supply. Find a good quality high PH detergent, 3M sponges and quality microfiber clothes. A pump bottle of Easy Off oven cleaner (caustic soda) for kitchen grease and muriatic acid for grout. The most important consideration PPE. Use heavy nitrile gloves and googles when using these chemicals.
it's not good for deep cleans and such. Products are only as effective as their intended use. Like using ammonia chloride solutions routinely in a shower will strip off soap scum and grease and keeps it from building up to crusty layer. Or, using a solution of white vinegar with water on faucets for hard water stains will keep mineral deposits from building up, because calcite on faucets will cure every 12 hours or so, so using a light routine clean saves you from a time consuming strip and scrub
I use a little Murphys wood soap. You don't need much with water. Make sure you don't leave allot of water on the floor. Just enough to get the dirt...
Best hardwood cleaner.... is definitely Squeaky Clean by Basic Coatings! Murphy's is ok, but also leaves a coating on stuff that dulls the floor over time.
ZEP cleaning products are amazing. My husband used to work for ZEP. We used to get all our cleaning products for free. I fell in love with the foaming glass cleaner years ago when they were first developing it. We actually got to test some of the earlier formulas. I always tell people "You can't go wrong with ZEP products".
You are soooo smart and correct. I am OCD and cannot stand when people say they CLEAN with all natural products. If it doesn't disinfect than it doesn't clean. Clorox is a must.
I was buying Lysol and Clorox for our children’s church. Some people kept saying don’t use that. Then covid happened and they shut up. My ocd clearly came in handy at that point.
I mean you can clean without disinfecting (I'm sure you feel better doing so since you have OCD), but I agree with you that all natural products just don't cut it. My pet peeve is watching people clean their cutting boards with lemon and baking soda... Those DO need to be disinfected and deep cleaned, and lemon just does not achieve that goal. 😂
@@beetothebop123 I don't use wooden cutting boards for that reason. It's a lot to disinfect. However, if one is going to own and use them, it always helps to dry them in the sun after disinfection for that extra OCD sureness.

I'm sold on Zep product's. The foaming glass cleaner is safe for tinted windows so that's what I use. The Zep acidic toilet bowl cleaner will dissolve years of calcium and lime scale.
There's a generic version of it they sell at the dollar store that works literally just as good as sprayway. I have like 4 bottles of it. It's amazing. Streak free shine Everytime. All my windows and mirrors look brand new. 😂
I use that Method daily cleaner. After I shower, I run the squeegee across the walls and glass. Then I spray the Daily Shower cleaner on. It has been keeping my glass clear and the walls shiny. Even the chrome faucet handles look good.
Why no to windex? Been using it for over 40 years. Imo still the best. For cars and home. Im a clean window fanatic. Tried most everything else. Haven't tried sprayway. What is the advantage?
The method daily shower spray is just supposed to keep the soap scum down. It’s not intended to be used as “cleaner” or scrubber. I use it every night after taking a shower - just spray it throughout your shower or tub - and I have noticed a huge difference in soap scum buildup. I clean my showers & tubs with scrubbing bubbles foam once every 2 weeks.
I used to use a spray (?) after I showered and it kept the scum residue down and left the shower cleaner, water just rolled off, it repelled it so no build up.
Thank you! I never tried Zep products before so now I'm going to give them a try. I love Fabuloso and the fresh scent but lately I've been using Pinesol. I agree about Method shower cleaner--its meh.
Zep products are great but make sure to check ingredients. They duplicate some of their formulations. For example, their calcium, lime and rust cleaner is the same as their grout cleaner just diff package and half the price.

Especially with toilet. After you flush, put a cup or 2 of vinegar, in the tube that fills with water. It flushes out the mold that lives in the toilet bowl. Stops it from forming that black gunk. Also keeps hard water from forming
💯
Careful! Pinesol and Fabuloso are toxic to pets!
I used to work for a flooring company and Murphy's Oil soap is not good, it leaves a sticky film that actually attracts dirt and dust.
so what do you recommend for wood floors??? Thanks Vanessa!
Following this thread for the answer.
That was my question, what to use? 😮
I'm a professional housecleaner for 36 years, I consult installers and manufacturers....they recommend small amount of Dawn in cold water, dry immediately with a dry mop or dry towels to shine😊 edit: this method is safe for all floor surfaces. 😀
@@jessicamorrell4713 Thank you Jessica! Ive never tried dawn on my floors, I'll give it a shot. :)
@@anaarceo8265 go easy. It shouldn't require rinsing. 😊 I literally put about 1/4 of a teaspoon to a gallon of cold water.
The zep blue glass cleaner is pretty awesome too. Great on car windows.
The Zep foam cleaner is bussing!!!! I use it bi weekly to clean doors and baseboards! A staple in my home as well as the Spray away 🫶🏾
Bona works great for natural pine floors. I have a satin finish on my floors.
What to use on satin finish wood floors??
@@elisegreen2024 I use Bona hardwood floor cleaner. I suggest you visit your local commercial flooring store. To have natural wood floors and dishes mean natural. I used Bona Nordic Seal and Bona Mega One Waterborne Wood floor Satin finish. I hope this helps.
@@elisegreen2024 Bona is ideal for all wood floors.
It's recommended by most installers. It's the best one can purchase.
I agree with everything, except the Windex. 😂 I just love windex I think it works great. Old habits die hard I guess 😊❤
I came to say this but seen your comment. I’m gong to stick to Windex
Windex here!
Thank you for the info regarding Recall.❤
As much as I enjoy these videos, I’d appreciate comparable stuff to the NO products. (Like the wood floor cleaner: 2 no products but then no suggestion to use instead)
Idk why she said no to bona, worked really well on our natural hardwood floors over the years and they have another one for planks that’s pretty good too
Bona is the only product that did not streak my wood floors. It’s a yes for me.
@@bonngirl yup and it also leaves a nice sheen
@@ripem1417Charlie?
Just don’t use it on stairs because it will make them a fall hazard. I would suggest using vinegar and water because that’s what I used, and it was very economical.
The ZEP carpet soap for carpet shampooers is the absolute best!!
The scrubbing bubbles foaming bleach cleaner is the ONLY thing that got rid of tough mold in my shower- customer for life!!
You told us two no items for wood floors but not what to use
All of these things are full of chemicals there are natural ways to clean. For mold I use a mixture of water with tea tree oil. I spray it, but it sit for a little bit and then wipe it all down in the mold is gone
I do not use any of the cleaners on her list at all. Bleach is the worst thing you can use in your home. All of these chemicals are so harmful for you and your family.
@@sheilarougeau2331🙄
Lysol foaming bathroom cleaner contains zero bleach and somehow prevents mold i use it on my portable AC.
Be careful Zep is also a very very very powerful industrial product, that’s why it works so well 😅 pls use w caution everyone
I love my Method shower spray!! I spray as I am getting out. Love the smell and never get soap scum. 🤷🏻♀️
Agreed! Sprayed after each day's showers so when we clean the shower at the end of the week there's no scrubbing needed!
Yeah I use it too. I’m not sure who would find it a waste of money. Maybe they’re just not using it consistently or not using enough 🤷🏼♀️
I love it too!!! Works well enough that I don't have to regularly scrub the walls👍
it's not good for deep cleans and such.
Thanks all, because it works well for me too! Soaks up the water so I don’t have to mop up the wall tiles & floor.
So what can I use on wood floors?? HELP ME PLEASE
Not vinegar.
Try remember this, you're not cleaning wood, you're cleaning the finish on the wood. Usually polyurethane.
We use the BONA in my house and I think it works well.
@@SaidAlSeveres I use bona too.
I use a little Murphys wood soap. You don't need much with water. Make sure you don't leave allot of water on the floor. Just enough to get the dirt...
Vanessa great insight and helpful advice..What's the best overall floor cleaner for hardwood and vinyl floors..Please and thanks
Do you have recommendations on what to use on hardwood floors. And how to remove the film that’s left from products that clearly aren’t good on floors
Please and thank you ❤
Vinegar!
@@ChloePoole-fs5zp thank you ☺️

Be careful using vinegar on hardwood floors as it can cause etching on the woods surface!
What is the best hardwood cleaner?
I'd like to know as well...
Me too
Iam using Murphy oil soap and it look good and gentle on vinyle floor but not sure it's rented house.
She's right with the ZEP products it works. As a Custodian
Several comments have mentioned the health issues. Apparently, it's toxic as heck.
Like the people who don’t wash their cast iron skillets or stoneware 🤦♀️
Good advice ,whats good for slate and wood floors?
The shower spray is a lifesaver. I use it every time after I shower and don’t have to clean my glass door often.
It works great for me. It’s not meant to substitute a heavy cleaning but it works well right after a shower when things are wet. It cleans the walls / tub and leaves a really nice smell like you said. If you have a mirror in your shower it’ll clean it and stop it from fogging up. This person doesn’t understand what it’s meant to do
Much appreciated! Actually excited to try some Zep I recently purchased lol
I'm sold on Zep product's. The foaming glass cleaner is safe for tinted windows so that's what I use. The Zep acidic toilet bowl cleaner will dissolve years of calcium and lime scale.
Thank you! I can’t get my hubby to stop using windex for everything. Windows, mirrors, countertops, tub… etc. The good news is he is helping. 😅
Then stop buying it
@@Jas-se1hw Lol! Good idea, However, he buys it himself.
@@Jas-se1hwReally? Do you think the man isn't buying it himself? Smh.

Obsessed with Spray Way! I wish their products were more readily available bc their lemon furniture polish is perfection
There's a generic version of it they sell at the dollar store that works literally just as good as sprayway. I have like 4 bottles of it. It's amazing. Streak free shine Everytime. All my windows and mirrors look brand new. 😂
Thank you many times I just procrastinate on which is the better product to use. God bless you🎉❤
What do you use on wood floors? Thanks for the great info!
I heard you dont want to use any chemicals on a wooden floor so it doesn’t ruin them.. people say to use vinegar and water
Hardwood installation company said use bona
ZEP has wood floor cleaner too
murphy oil soap. veggie based and natural and smells amazing!
I personally would not use Murphy oil soap. We had an installer tell us ammonia free glass cleaner
I use that Method daily cleaner. After I shower, I run the squeegee across the walls and glass. Then I spray the Daily Shower cleaner on. It has been keeping my glass clear and the walls shiny. Even the chrome faucet handles look good.
I echo that. It works for me. Keeps the grimy scum off and actually cuts down on the build up of bacteria. 👍🏻
@@Patriotgrl01 I wasn't expecting much when I first tried it out. Now I do a heavier duty cleaning every other month.
I think she might be using it wrong, since the bottle says daily and housekeepers really don’t come everyday
Method works great but the green bottle is the best one
Why no to windex? Been using it for over 40 years. Imo still the best. For cars and home. Im a clean window fanatic. Tried most everything else. Haven't tried sprayway. What is the advantage?
I’d love to see your cleaning tips and tricks to clean and also how frequently it really is needed
Same! It definitely has reduced buildup for the past few months when I use it after my shower.
Yep! Same. Works great on glass too.
Same! Makes a HUGE difference in soap scum! 🎉
She knows that just doesn't work
I used to use a spray (?) after I showered and it kept the scum residue down and left the shower cleaner, water just rolled off, it repelled it so no build up.
So what do you recommend for wood floors, especially what will sanitize them??
Thank you, thank you so much❤ you sharing. Being retired, I NEED to make sure the cleaning items is worth it's value.
White vinegar and baking soda are king.
Also, ffs stop using fabuloso. It's garbage, full of the worst toxins and doesn't even disinfect.
I have unsealed wood laminate flooring in my kitchen and bathroom areas. What floor cleaner do you suggest that is safe to use and works really well!?
k wait..for the wood floors then what *should* I use?
murphys oil soap in super hot water works like a charm and smells perfect
Thanks! I'll try it!
I love the smell of Murphy's but removes some finishes on wooden floors
She wasn't clear. Whether she referred to the brand entirely or that specific product, which can leave residue and ruin your floors, is unclear. Blurry on my end.
Then what for wooden floors? Murphy leaves residue on floors so I use hona blue one
I worked for Sprayway❤❤Wonderful company
I agree whole heartedly with your opinions on cleaners. I cleaned houses for over 25 years so yea you’re right on. What would you suggest for wood floors? I have a pretty good solution but wanted to get your opinion!!
i use the shower spray while in my shower and it works amazing. it is a “daily” spray so if you’re planning to use it on a shower that hasn’t been cleaned in a while, totally agree it’s not worth it but that would be user error imo
Does nothing. Give it a once a week real cleaning
Works or not, the methos daily spray smells AMAZING. It makes me *want* to clean my bathroom.
I clean houses and highly recommend the method shower spray- it really works to keep mildew and soap scum build up from tile/grout showers! 💯 saves time!!!!
Love all ZEP products!
Sucker. For smell?
I have been using Method for years, the grapefruit for the grease on the stove is bomb!
It smells so good especially the pink one
You said no to mop n glo but what do you suggest to make dull wood floors shiny again without making them gunky?

This is what I came to ask.
@sherimoore8324 someone else said a very small amount of dawn mixed with water but to make sure to dry the floor with a dry mop or towels as soon as your finished mopping. . . . Seems like a lot of work though 🤔
Bona! It’s the safest , i have 95 year old real wood floor and Bona is the only thing i use.
Pinesol, Pinalen or Murphy's Oil Soap
Hmm just a floor steamer and the hot water does a great job if it’s extra I spray with 50/50 white vinegar and water then steam mop

I agree! I love the after shower stuff. It doesn't replace regular shower cleaner but it does help with the hard water deposits and soap scum in my shower.
Brainwashed. It doesn't do anything. Just give it a real clean with a bleach based product. Or barkeepers friend. Really clean.
