  • September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month! This week, we welcome Elena Ratner, a gynecologic oncologist, to talk about this cancer that was once thought to have a dismal prognosis. We discuss what you need to know -- your risk factors (including your family history and genetics) to how to reduce your risk (from breast feeding to birth control pills). We talk about the symptoms you need to be aware of to detect this cancer early, biomarkers for high risk disease, and when to see your doctor. Finally, we talk about advances in treatment -- the genetic mutations that guide therapy, and how personalized medicine is even more effective and tolerable than before. You can catch more of our conversation on the radio or on our podcast at Yale Cancer Answers (see link below).

Thank you again Dr.Chagpar for taking preparation to make video on hereditary cancer. I enjoyed this video so much. 'Who can reduce ovarian cancer ' this topic I liked much. Also I became surprised to hear that every 25000 women have to diagnose! Really it's very importan to know about ovarian cancer. I am so sorry Dr.Chagpar I could not attain in premier. I did a wrong in calculation time according to our country. When I saw that I could not attain really I became upset. Again this one is great video as well.

I learnt from your lectures that men are also in risk for breast cancer if they carry BRCA mutaion. So if you can make video on paget disease please do this. Because in our country people are not used to hear this & maximum don't know about this. May be it's in another country too.
Another topic I would say about palliative care. How does it work for breast cancer especially, is it hospice or not. If these idea will be appreciated by you please make video on these topic.
