I know many bands from mid 2000 inspired by Les Rhytmes Digitales. This track was more like ahead of its time, and not 80s. They just have a nostalgic touch.

It's a very unusual song, in all the best ways. The video is bold and surprisingly deep given the fact you think its just fluffy toys. Appearances can be deceptive particularly with someone that has depression and a thick veneer of coping we show the world. It's a beautiful project done justice by Nik Kershaw, again another left field choice, but brilliant and soulful.
I watched this video so many years ago and I never forgot about it. Now? I am watching it again and again for about three hours! I like it so much because these are the authentic songs without auto-tune you should find in bar and discotheques

It definitely didn’t get the recognition it deserved like so many other artists around that time (Mr. Oizo, Propellerheads, Junkie XL, just to name a TINY few). My guess is they were too ahead of their time. It’s such a shame b/c nowadays you see so many mediocre “edm” guys blowing up left & right.
It used to play non-stop, at MTV Brazil,during the nineties.I remember always watching this video when I came home from school.I used to feel just like the teddy bear,but I survived.

What the teddy bear does at the end of the video I used to felt it and wanted to do it in 2018 but with the song "Hurt" by Jhonny cash. I don't feel any of those ways anymore, I survived too :)
Or perhaps an autistic teddy bear. Either way, we need to have better understanding and patience for one another in this world. I'm still working on reminding myself of that.
