The way that the first movie's Leo and Don's belts ride really high is actually how their belts were in that movie, so while it does look a little strange, it's accurate to that movie. In SOTO, their belts were lowered down to a more reasonable level.
So…I preordered my set, paid more money for the same figures and accessories, and have to wait longer to receive them. What a flawless business decision, NECA 😂

Every time I watch these reviews of the movie figures, it makes me want to go back and watch the movies for the millionth time! I guess I know what I’m doing tomorrow 😆
Ya know, I really wish neca would stop with this exclusive b.s. and allow the rest of us who would love to own these figures a decent chance by going through bbts like they do everything else. All that happens when they go this way is that scalpers swoop em up and sell em on the secondary market for like a 200-300% mark up. Really takes the fun out of it for me, I don't know if anyone else feels that way.

Very nice. I've pre-ordered the four-pack and accessory pack as I prefer the look of Leo and Mike's faces in the accessory pack. Nice to see the comparison between the first ones. The criticisms are definitely valid. Bring on TMNT 3 now :)
Valid frustrations about them appearing on shelves way before the preorders go out. But I will say this, I'll always keep preordering bc it's been amazing to not have to stress about the hunt anymore lol
Great review Mad Hatter! People that got the 4 pack should definitely have gotten this earlier. But this does give people another opportunity to buy these! These figures look amazing!
As much as I like the Secret of the Ooze figures of the Turtles myself, I would've preferred giving the Leonardo figure the head sculpt with the stern face expression that was included in the accessory set instead, and the holsters on the belt of the Michelangelo figure should be longer some so the cord won't go through the slit holes. I like how the Michelangelo figure had been given the same shell that was given to the Donatello and Raphael figures. Of course, that is how it was done to the costumes that were remade for the second film. The same should've been done to the Leonardo and Michelangelo costumes that were made for the first film. I hope the Secret of the Ooze figures of the Turtles will also be made in the 1/4 scale with the bandana tails made out of cloth fabric.

Awesome review as always ! When you switched the heads I thought maybe the SOTO body worked better with the 1st movie head as the paint job looks darker, grittier & more detailed. I think the only head sculpt that really makes me think of the sequel is Dons, that face is perfect.

The Dockshore Club insert was announced from the beginning, was one of the selling points. They talked about it in the video Pixel Dan did with the NECA guy a few months ago. No excuse for NECA, the four pack pre-orders should have been first priority. Anyway, mondo review as always dude.
I don't have any of the movie turtles as of yet, but the comparison shots really helped me decide to go with the SOTO versions. I kind of like the heads from the first movie better, but the bodies look way better on the SOTO versions. Plus they are a lot easier to find right now.
Just my two cents but neca does still deliver other preorders before they hit target with the toon line. Also I’m expecting that the four pack will release earlier than 1st quarter. I think they just gave a estimate for the cushion just in case. Again just my two cents. Love the videos

Used to be you got your stuff early, now they know they got your money so they're just still trying to sell to everybody else. Hatter, I go to my local Walmart and I find a Tmnt turtles 2-pack...the first movie pack of Raphael and Michelangelo!!! 😄 So no SOTA pack(s)!!...now I could never find any of the original movies TMNT turtles 2-packs so this is good. But now I have to hope I can find the other pack. My store has the splinter & shredder pack and the rival ninja master 2-packs.. thankfully I got those and was able to screen for quality. My lone find was solo and way back in the display. I asked an employee and he said there was chance more could show up🤞 let me finish the OG set. I appreciate the review. I love comparisons especially when people take time to look and talk about the differences. Hey in time you'll have the best of both worlds so enjoy👍✌️
Michaelangelo was probably my favorite in the tmnt movie trilogy. I still wish Leo had more scenes. I wish the accessory set wasn't so high now I would've been had it if not for these damn meddling bills
I just pre-ordered the SOTO Accessory Pack from the Neca store for my original movie Turtles. I didn't feel like getting the SOTO 4 pack figures nor do I plan on getting the separate 2 packs.
I'm over here watching these video at 3 in the morning I was looking for this pack at my Walmart and they don't even have them I might have to try again this week or next week I just really want these guys since I miss out one the first batch of the movie figures
Crazy thing is the 4 pack was 30 bucks more. I pre-order them and picked up my figures from Walmart and when I got them from Walmart it only cost 126 after-tax

It's likely more to do with the shipping crisis that its now speeding up but different things are showing up earlier than others due to no company being able to hit their release windows the last 2 or 3 years, it's likely these were meant to start showing up around sept/oct but hit a lil earlier and the 4 pack I could see starting to ship around the same time the channel 6 pack did last year.
Silly Hatter you weren't first to order these, it was WALMART who paid NECA first lol. I screwed up not getting the accessories pack bc I didn't think I would be able to use the new heads. Also your 1st movie Raph head looks different than mine. Mine looks more serious since I got the Walmart 2 packs they released last summer.

Man, I wasn't sold on the SOTO Turtles due to their supposed similarities to the first movie releases, but after seeing them side by side, the details on the SOTO set frankly blow the first ones out of the water! (In my opinion.) Might need to snag the two packs if I ever see them here in Canada. That default Leo face is super funny looking, albeit accurate. I don't think I could love that face for my favorite Turtle!

The movie Turtles here in Canada in stores have kinda dried up now that GameStop isn’t restocking them so at least there isn’t a chance I will come across them in the wild cause that would make me mad. I think the paint and shells are the only difference besides heads. I just got the accessory pack to do the head swaps. I figured the bodies will be to similar. I do however will but the tmnt 3 figs when they do it but never got the sdcc version so will have to wait for the Walmart versions 🥺
Is the NECA TMNT2 accessory pack coming sooner than expected?? I heard from Randy he said the Turtles 2 packs are touched up compared to the 4 pack. don't get why but thats what he said.

I used to have the 1/4 Raphael with the hat and jacket, but I never got it back , that is the ONLY 1/4 tmnt that is no longer available anywhere of course
It might be as simple as the four-pack is being timed to release with the accessory pack, and they need the time to get those ready? Just speculation, but who knows?
So basically they put up the four pack first but these are coming out first so technically the four pack is the rerelease? And plus the four pack is to expensive anyway and these combined will probably be cheaper because yo don’t get as much but don’t you only get a fire extinguisher and a slice of pizza with a hole in it for Raph and a back drop right? If so yeah there cool but I would not display them with those accessories I would use there weapons and put them in a fighting pose and I probably wouldn’t have enough room for the back drop. I will probably just get these and the accessory set if I can but if I can’t get the accessory set it’s not a big deal. Also you earned a sub.
I'm curious but optimistic, since Neca has said that release dates are basically meaningless with the way things are going. Hopefully that means we'll be getting the four pack earlier than expected. But I was hoping to snag at least an extra Leo, so I'm hoping the two packs will be more obtainable than most of this stuff. Not expecting another Hatter miracle like with the farm two-pack.
Spent half the day hitting up multiple Walmarts (about 10 of them) here in San Antonio Texas. Scanned the upc at majority of them and said they had some in stock but were no where to be found at the store. Geez I hate exclusives!
So, just a suggestion. When you hold a figure close to the cam, get a piece of cardboard or use the front part of a notebook rather than your hand for a background. Also, I hate the new elbow joints.

Im good with buying two sets, original release would be displayed and the special release stays in package right next to the 1st TMNT movie pack.

Is the NECA TMNT2 accessory pack coming sooner than expected?? I heard from Randy he said the Turtles 2 packs are touched up compared to the 4 pack. don't get why but thats what he said.

It might be as simple as the four-pack is being timed to release with the accessory pack, and they need the time to get those ready? Just speculation, but who knows?

So basically they put up the four pack first but these are coming out first so technically the four pack is the rerelease? And plus the four pack is to expensive anyway and these combined will probably be cheaper because yo don’t get as much but don’t you only get a fire extinguisher and a slice of pizza with a hole in it for Raph and a back drop right? If so yeah there cool but I would not display them with those accessories I would use there weapons and put them in a fighting pose and I probably wouldn’t have enough room for the back drop. I will probably just get these and the accessory set if I can but if I can’t get the accessory set it’s not a big deal. Also you earned a sub.

I'm curious but optimistic, since Neca has said that release dates are basically meaningless with the way things are going. Hopefully that means we'll be getting the four pack earlier than expected. But I was hoping to snag at least an extra Leo, so I'm hoping the two packs will be more obtainable than most of this stuff. Not expecting another Hatter miracle like with the farm two-pack.

Spent half the day hitting up multiple Walmarts (about 10 of them) here in San Antonio Texas. Scanned the upc at majority of them and said they had some in stock but were no where to be found at the store. Geez I hate exclusives!

So, just a suggestion. When you hold a figure close to the cam, get a piece of cardboard or use the front part of a notebook rather than your hand for a background. Also, I hate the new elbow joints.
