I've had a rough life. My dad tried to murder my mom when I was 2. My mom ended up abusing me because I reminded her of my dad. I've always been poor and suffered from food insecurity. I've been homeless and hungry. My heart has broken to the point I wanted to take my life and I've hurt myself. But God knows my name and he has a plan for me. He has blessed me with my two amazing twin boys that fill me with life and love. Thank you Jesus. I love you.

I've loved this song ever since I was a teenager and even then appreciated the sacrifices my parents (especially my mom) did for us girls. My mother only had a 3rd grade education because she was taken out of school to help raise her brothers (the youngest at the time being my uncle Harry Lee was only 3)! Education was very, very important to her and you had to be dying in your bed to get a pass at staying home because you were sick. On her hospital bed before she died she explained to the doctor her only regret was not being able to read. The only book she ever wanted to read for herself was the bible and she couldn't; we girls had to read it for her. The story and longing was filled with such passion that the doctor started to cry, the nurse taking her vitals started to cry and so did I! I wish I could have recorded her to play at every school assembly. If I could play her words for the youth today there wouldn't be any drop-outs!

I miss my gramma so much. I wish I showed her how much I care about her while she was here. She took me in when my momma couldn’t. She watched over me while I was learning to play the keyboard for church. I remember she would show me how to keep the beat while I played. I was too hard headed to listen so now I’m trying to figure out how to keep the best at 26. There was no one else Like her. I love her. Sometimes idk if I believe in heaven but I grew up heavy in southern Christian culture so the thought is still there. If there is a heaven, I want to be there with her forever. I miss her so much...

WOW!!! This just brought tears to my eyes. My mother and I are so close...bff. Even though she is not home with me due to her stroke which left her paralyzed and unable to talk, she is still here with me. I still see her all the time. Thank God for the mother that I have. As I was a child in my mother's home, I gave her 100% of my LOVE and RESPECT, as without her guidance I would not be the person I am today...a retired educator with a B.S. Degree and M.ED Degree from Florida A & M University, Tallahassee, Florida. My mother is in heaven now, but I know she is looking down and smiling, as she knows that I continued to live and give her honor and praise for whatever I accomplished in my education and in the workforce. I am elated that I gave my mother her flowers while she was alive to smell the blossoms or roses. I will always remember my mother, as she still lives within me, and I'm 65 years old.

I've loved this song ever since I was a teenager and even then appreciated the sacrifices my parents (especially my mom) did for us girls. My mother only had a 3rd grade education because she was taken out of school to help raise her brothers (the youngest at the time being my uncle Harry Lee was only 3)! Education was very, very important to her and you had to be dying in your bed to get a pass at staying home because you were sick. On her hospital bed before she died she explained to the doctor her only regret was not being able to read. The only book she ever wanted to read for herself was the bible and she couldn't; we girls had to read it for her. The story and longing was filled with such passion that the doctor started to cry, the nurse taking her vitals started to cry and so did I! I wish I could have recorded her to play at every school assembly. If I could play her words for the youth today there wouldn't be any drop-outs!

I miss my gramma so much. I wish I showed her how much I care about her while she was here. She took me in when my momma couldn’t. She watched over me while I was learning to play the keyboard for church. I remember she would show me how to keep the beat while I played. I was too hard headed to listen so now I’m trying to figure out how to keep the best at 26. There was no one else Like her. I love her. Sometimes idk if I believe in heaven but I grew up heavy in southern Christian culture so the thought is still there. If there is a heaven, I want to be there with her forever. I miss her so much...

WOW!!! This just brought tears to my eyes. My mother and I are so close...bff. Even though she is not home with me due to her stroke which left her paralyzed and unable to talk, she is still here with me. I still see her all the time. Thank God for the mother that I have. As I was a child in my mother's home, I gave her 100% of my LOVE and RESPECT, as without her guidance I would not be the person I am today...a retired educator with a B.S. Degree and M.ED Degree from Florida A & M University, Tallahassee, Florida. My mother is in heaven now, but I know she is looking down and smiling, as she knows that I continued to live and give her honor and praise for whatever I accomplished in my education and in the workforce. I am elated that I gave my mother her flowers while she was alive to smell the blossoms or roses. I will always remember my mother, as she still lives within me, and I'm 65 years old.
