I honestly don't know how the devs expect ppl to finish game without a guide or some form of walkthrough for puzzles. Knowing to go back to areas, puzzles that don't make any sense, etc. All said i am still really enjoying game. Very bioshock meets 1930s-40s pulp adventure. Indy x Bioshock vibes minus action.
this puzzle literally makes zero fucking sense, this actually seemed to be solved out of pure fucking luck than anything else, all the other puzzles made sense with their clues, but this is like giving someone a leaf and expecting them to get to the bloody moon
@@aegilmoth try to explain best I can, each symbol is in the full set of 4, you need to move to diamond on each individual symbol so if they all aligned by the movable diamond they would make the final glyph like when iron man makes his mark 1 armour it looks like weapon parts til he overlaps them all on the see through paper
I’m so glad the drum puzzle wasn’t randomised every time and I could just copy you,seriously the sound of the medium and large drum sounded so similar to me I couldn’t tell the difference 😂
Yea bigtime, I'm a musician and I'd like to think have a good ear. Those 2 drums are just way too close together for a puzzle like this. How the devs decided this was acceptable is mind boggling to me.
To everyone saying the mural puzzle didn't make sense, here's the explanation: Once you've gathered all the clues (as seen at 19:10) look at the bottom picture. Each of the "words" in the four sections consists of two to three other words. Now have a look at the word "Transformation" at the very top as it is the easiest example. This word only appears "Destined Inevitable Transformation" in section two of the picture at the bottom. The yellow symbol (the "north") is right next to it so what you have to do is turn that symbol below the "Transformation" mural so the relative position matches with the one in your diary. You have to do this for all four words. Once it's done, if you were to turn all four of the circles so that the yellow symbol is facing upwards and then overlap them you'd end up with what you have in your diary. This was definitely the trickiest puzzle but it makes perfect sense. I was almost gonna bruteforce through the 256 possible solutions but stopped after the first 16... only to find out after I solved the puzzle that solution #26 would've opened the door for me. :D Glad I figured it out on my own though.

Haha! Yeah I was close to brute forcing it too but realized it would take too long. In the end it would have probably been faster given that I spent hours trying to figure it out on my own before going on here 🙈
Every chapter I get lost and there’s always just one thing I can’t find I come to one of your vids then keep playing then get lost and coming back I’d rather find it myself but man this game is just too damn good
The mural puzzle is such a logical leap that it's really hard to get your head around. Each of the murals contains one symbol - the diamonds in the circle at the bottom of the page have multiple symbols combined (a phrase). To solve the puzzle you have to rotate the dial to make the "starbursts" all line up with the symbol from the mural in the phrases. So the two dots symbol in mural 1 (transformation) is only in one of the 4 phrases: number 2 (Westlined inevitable/transformation). Moving the needle changes the north, so rotating the needle one step to the right places the starburst as overlapping position 2 For mural 2 there are two phrases with that symbol: • God's blood • Water Animal As the starbursts are already in the right positions (1 and 3) this needle doesn't need to be moved
Great, save for the confusion as to what mural puzzle was #1 in your description. Maybe add "facing murals, I'm calling leftmost number 1 and progressing to the right; i.e. left to right = 1 thru 4."

Thanks for the detailed guides, I used them for some missing secret obejcts but honestly I'm surprised everyone here is criticising the puzzles. Some definitely weren't easy but I found no puzzle that would've made no sense. But maybe they could have made an easier mode with more hints for the casual gamer that isn't playing for the puzzle but for the story.

Dude, I was just saying the same thing. It's the first time in the game I needed to rely on a guide to get through a puzzle. I see the solution and I have no idea why it is correct. I'm grateful for the solution to move on...but sometimes developers are a little too clever for their own good. Great game, though.

The devs can not make logic puzzles for shit. Anyone can make a problem only they can solve or being on the same spectrum of thinking. It is harder to make the logic intuitive yet challenging. These puzzles are hit and miss. Mostly miss.
Seems like "506 East Hampden Avenue", the chieve which should pop when you interact with the music box might be bugged. Didn't pop for me and when I looked up at TA is saw a lot of people having the same issue.

For scenes like the end with the drums, can't you display what the proper steps would be (like Left, Center or Right). Your guides are good, but they're missing the last couple things to make them great.
Holy crap I FINALLY understand this puzzle with the murals..... even after watching vids I couldn't understand the logic behind it.... Harry has already figured out the phrases each one of the numbered slots has to say, plus, each of the dials below each murals has stars inside of it the equal the amount of times each symbol is represented in all the phrases required, so knowing that, and knowing what direction the words move when you move the diamond, all you need to do is line up the words by using the dials so they overlap in such a way that harry's phrases are formed.
Where do the different journal entries at the beginning do come from? They don't help me figure which of the 4 buttons to press, but I guess I won't get 100% for this without them. Yes, I did look at the murals and the journal icon at the upper right appeared... Edit: Does not work, is this randomized?
I feel like such a moron. Got stuck at 97% let all dialogue play, forgotten the thing with 1234 on it in the last room. Last clue I needed. Remember this: do NOT try to think you remembered all things from looking at the playthrough once!! (Stacking both the Win 10 and Xbox One version as this game leaves Game Pass on the 30th of November)
Are the story logs and notes the same? I’m on 97% on this chapter but i have gotten the achievement for finding all the notes?? I only have the 100% dialog achievement left and i’m pretty sure the dialogue i’m missing is in Chapter 6 so i’m a bit confused by this
I know it's been a while. But I had 97% on this as well. I got the final 3% in the last puzzle chamber. One of the symbols is circled with 'Water Animal' written above it. It's easy to miss, but that was what I needed for the 100%.
I almost did a dumb and grabbed the music box before grabbing the postcard. Luckily, if you're fast enough, you can grab the postcard before the music box pulls you out.
So I engage the three gears and walk over to the turbine and apparently it's impossible to get them all to light up if you even mess up once, because the pattern in this video won't work

The games solution for the mural/wheel puzzle is wrong. The transformation star needs to be in the top right, so the diamond for that should be on the left. Having it on the right makes the star sit in the bottom left quarter.

So what the puzzle WANTS you to do it to MATCH the Completed symbols in your Log Book to the Individual Symbols on the murals See Transformation/Metamorphosis only has 1 Star Burst? Well in the Log Book only 1 Completed Symbol HAS that 1 Individual Symbol. Same as Liquid That Symbol only has 2 Star Burst And only 2 Complete Symbols have that Individual Symbol.
I don’t know why but I interacted with everything in the room and the notes aren’t complete. Like in the bottom I only have water animal and numbers 3 and 4 symbols. Where is everything else? No wonder i wandered frustrated all over the room back and forth interacting with everything million times and couldn’t get the solution. Don’t know if it is a bug or i don’t interacted with all (but i don’t think so cause i stayed in that room like 1 hour and interacted multiple times with everything) but that ruined my esperience for this puzzle cause i had to come here and see 😭

For the drum part it’s super easy if you have subtitles turned on, because it literally tells you what drum to hit.

On the turbine gears you have to go from left to right. Otherwise the levers wont engage the gears.
It doesn't work. No matter from where I start, the levers don't engage, it jumps out

I really liked the atmosphere in this game and the controller mechanics were good but the puzzles were tedious and kinda boring.

In the puzzle with the drums when you screw up, Norah is like "Norah, you IDIOT. Just follow the sequence." That hurt.
The turbine buttons once you have messed with them doesn’t work with the 4th button and 7th.
