- They say that once you try anamorphic - it's hard to go back. Well, we paired, what is our first ever cinema lens, the @SIRUIImaging 75mm T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic lens with the Sony A7SIII and it did not disappoint.
Two and a half days spent with our lovely family, led to some casual shooting around Paris, France and gave us gave us more of a locals' insight to the city. We really wanted to avoid the tourist attractions and the overshot areas. We wanted to bring those little details, the character and the real charm of Paris to life. In all of its beautiful, cinematic, anamorphic glory of course.
We were travelling super light, no gimbal and not even a decent tripod, so all of this was shot handheld and manually focussed on the lens itself (no rig).
Oh and a word about the SIRUI 75mm T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic lens - simply stunning. The quality it delivers is outstanding, the flaring is so pretty but not overpowering, the colour rendition is epic and literally ZERO focus breathing. We can't wait to dive in more but this lens is a BANGER.

Hey! No we didn't, no film emulation plugins at all - just some LUTs. We use the conversion LUT from Slog3 by Joel Famularo - the Phantom LUTs, but unfortunately I don't remember the other LUT that we used for styling and we are currently travelling (the project is at home) so we can't even check! Sorry about that. So glad you enjoyed the video though :) Thank you for watching.

Thank you Matt! They really do have some great lenses and to be honest - the fact that you can get a 1.6x Anamorphic lens with this sort of image quality for like $1500USD or so is just mind blowing. You will definitely be seeing more shot on this bad boy :D

Beautiful video 15 years later and Im still kicking myself about Paris. We flew from Dublin to Charles De Gaulle, short stop then on our way to Honeymoon in Mauritius neither of us thought to stop in Paris either way for a couple of nights !
Oh nooo! You definitely should have stopped, even if it's just for 2 days. It's a very unique city, there's a LOT to it, good and bad. I guess that's what makes it special though. We can't recommend it enough - you have to go when you get chance.

@@TRIOStories thank you, hello there! well, ive had better months, but i am still around :D (maybe thats TMI, sorry) just trying to figure it all out, had to take time out from editing, what ive recorded im not happy with, so that might have to be redone if i can't salvage enough of it! still a bag of nerves trying to record... i gave myself a self care day the last 2 days, i needed it, sad and built me the starting's of a lego town hehehe!!!! i will get back to the grind when i can face it ;)

Thanks so much for your comment Luke! Sorry for the slow reply, we somehow missed it. So this was shot on the Sirui 75mm 1.6x Anamorphic lens. It's the Sirui Venus Series. As for the frame rates - it's a mixture of 24fps and 60fps for the slow motion elements.
It's not 75, it's 35mm

what's unseen about the most cliché, touristic places that exist in Paris ?
The shots of the man blowing the leaves, the pidgeons, the dad taking his child on the back of the bike, the people in the metro. PLUS shot on Anamorphic. We felt it wasn't your usual Paris travel vid, sorry you don't see it. A lot of people do. ☺️
