1 year ago I was top comment after we lost 1-0 to Montreal. I had said how we should sack Vanney and "get a real coach". I was wrong. He proved me wrong, this team, this incredible team goes down in history with the best coach to ever handle a team. Thank you, Greg Vanney. Thank you, Toronto. CHAMPIONS OF MLS!
It was probably your emotions reacting to the loss, but even with that loss last year, I have found that Vanney is a coach that can quickly learn from his mistakes. He certainly made the right choices tonight and out-coached Schmetzer.

Schmetzer gambled by placing Jones in left back, changing Seattle's very solid defense that worked well over the last month or so. Also, he didn't adapt quickly enough after the half to adjust to Toronto's attacking and counter-attacking pressure. Still, Seattle played a difficult game, and major props to Frei for keeping the team in the hunt.
It's been 5 days now that I keep watching these highlights. I just can't stop watching them. I was born and raised in Italy, but because my mom was from TO I started following TFC since day one. I still remember watching games at 2/3 am on terrible fields with football lines. But I always believed this championship had potential, and this club just as well. Finally in 2012 when I moved to Toronto I could've start following TFC at BMO. Call me crazy but I always believed this club was always really trying to be great. They brought us De Rosario, Frings, Julio Cesar, Defoe, Bradley, but when they did the impossible with Giovinco, that's when I knew we were gonna start a new chapter. I'm not surprised we won, I'm surprised of how much we dominated the whole season. This is a letter of love to this club. Go Toronto Football Club!
Watching this team's turnaround has been amazing. For the better part of 10 years, TFC were absolute basement dwellers. The job of head coach was a veritable revolving door. They made countless changes in the front office. The roster changes were innumerable. Then one year, they finally clicked, and made it to the playoffs. They crashed out in the knockout round, but they finally had something to build on. The very next year, they were MLS Cup runners up. Now they're MLS Cup champions. Well done, Toronto Football Club!
Not only did they win, they did it in such a dominant fashion. Seattle never had a chance from the the first whistle. Every player on the field played like a man possessed! When we lost last year I told my son it was for a reason... so that the triumph this season would be all that much sweeter. The whole season felt like fate. Winning the Canadian Championship, dominating the league with a record breaking season, winning the Shield, battling through a dicey two rounds of the playoffs, and capping it all off with a revenge win of the Cup in resounding fashion. Being a season seat holder from the beginning makes this win all the more special. From worst in the world to best team in MLS history is an incredible thing to witness. I already can't wait to see TFC continue these accomplishments next year in Concacaf and the 2018 season. Repeat champs!!! Go Reds!
As a canadian football/soccer fan im 13 i was really little watching this but i will never forget the experience watching giovinco and bradley in there primes play for us. This was my favorite season and match of all time. unfortunately the glory of our team is coming to an end but i still really love it and will always watch TFC in their ups and downs.
This is one of the most electrifying MLS finals in history, Stefan Frei was unstopable at goal. And the whole TFC team had worked at their hardest to the championship. TFC and Canada deserves the championship, I don't care what anyone says, any American league shouln't make fun of the Canadian teams as we are equal. Congrats TFC!

I've been following the Sounders since 1974. I watched us lose to the Cosmos in Soccer Bowl 77. I have also been a life long Seahawks fan sine their start in the NFL. I've been following the Sounders since 1974. I watched us lose to the Cosmos in Soccer Bowl 77. I have also been a life long Seahawks fan sine their start in the NFL. I know exactly what it's like to watch a team that took decades to win. I am happy you guys won a championship but you have only been in the league for 12 years. Don't act as if you have suffered. LOL! My sounders sucked tonight but it's just a game.

Yes the Argonauts won the Grey Cup in the CFL a few weeks ago..but that's a 9 team league strictly within Canada vs a 22 team league spanning 2 counties.
