I love the idea and the ease of this, but the glossy glare on the ones I've seen has really hindered me from giving it a go. • @DesignBundles
      @DesignBundles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great questions! So to start off with, the laminate is just a thermal laminate sheet you can purchase to use with a thermal laminator, you can grab them at your local office supply or online. You can apply it to almost any hard surface to apply sublimation, but it works best with canvas and wood (coming soon). I only use this method with canvas panels because with regular wrapped canvases, you would have to remove the canvas from the frame, apply the laminate and sublimate, then reattach to the frame. It can be done, it's just not as easy of a process as the panels. Hope this helps! ---Becky

      You could also do it without the spray, the spray is to insure the design doesn't move.

    Sublimation is only for polycoated material so does this laminate sheet allow us to use non poly coated and dark materials?

    • @DesignBundles
      @DesignBundles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Cristina! Yes, the lamination will accept and hold the sublimation ink and can be used on a few different surfaces including wood. This won't make a difference on dark materials since the laminate sheet is still transparent. Hope this helps! ---Becky

    Does it matter what side of the laminate you use, I see some are matte on one side and glossy on the other

    • @DesignBundles
      @DesignBundles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, great question! Yes, you need the side that was on the inside of the pouch, it's usually the matte side. One one side is meant to adhere when heated, so only that side will work to stick to the canvas. Hope this helps! ---Becky

    Also I tried smoothing them out while canvas was still warm and no success.

    Great video! Soooo many questions, though!
    First of all, I'm new to sublimation and am wanting to add so many more sublimation things to my arsenal that I want all the knowledge now. LOL
    (1) Where did you get your canvas board at?
    (2) Heat Transfer Sheets, are those just laminating sheets for your laminator? If not, where can you get these at?
    (3) I'm wanting to do a picture of my kids onto canvas ... do I just print the picture the size I want to my Sublimation printer and then press it on or do I have to have those sheets?
    (4) What's the purpose of the Easy Tack? Is it just to hold the sublimation to the canvas?

    • @DesignBundles
      @DesignBundles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kathy! These canvas panels are from Amazon but I've read you can purchase them at most craft stores also. Any lamination sheets should work as long as they are thermal and not self-sealing. You can press any photo you like on the canvas as long as you have pressed on the thermal lamination sheet first. The adhesive spray is for alignment to keep the image centered and also prevents ghosting. Hope this helps! ---Becky

      Hey Alease, the ink will gas-off when heated, is there any chance you are seeing that instead of moisture? If it is moisture, a pre-press should get the moisture out for you. If your letters are smearing, that sounds like ghosting, are you using any type of adhesive or tape? ---Becky
