I was getting my car serviced at the dealership yesterday and I heard thunderous revving coming from around the corner. Couldn't see it because we were surrounded by buildings, but everyone around stopped what they were doing to look around and see what the heck it was. Then we hear it take off and it drives by the service department entrance. It was a clean white x6m, brand new. Say what you want about how it sounds in this video, but in person this car sounded better than any v8 I've heard in a while, and that's saying something because there is a 2013 sl63 amg sitting in my driveway.

Dom Vandelay whether this is legit or not, my uncle has a 2015 x6m and it sounds just as good as you described. Wheels never spin or anything and beautiful carbon fiber all over the inside

I got the twin turbo X6M... it does sound lame..I did a muffler delete and it sounds a bit better. I gotta spend at least $4k-$5k or the $11k Akropovic exhaust system to make it sounds boss.

NinjaWarriorDude I would go with or at least look into eisinmann exhaust of they have it for your car. Really one of the top exhausts out there for any car. Plus they make the oem exhausts for amg and Porsche and you know none of those sound bad

Good or bad sound I'll still take this over any other truck. In my opinion it's beautiful and it's crazy fast plus it's a good driving experience

We once saw this car drive by and we couldn't believe there should be a V8 under the hood. It sounds more like a mix between BMW R6 and VW GTI
i think is sounds awesome , a few exception when change the gears but it is awesome
This thing seem like a superb drive, superbly engineered! Looks good too, though e71 is my favourite one.
The only thing I like about this x6m sound are those farts when shifting, they are insane!
And also on higher revs it doesen’t sound bad at all, but on the lower ones...sounds like a diesel 4 cylinder...
I'm not a BMW fan but I'd definitely drive this

Ever since most of the German brands went turbo, they all sound exactly the same. Same annoying snort when you up shift and same annoying fart when you downshift. Oh how I miss the days of the E60 M5, E46 M3 and E92 M3 motors. I used to admire BMW when they would take the all motor route and all their M cars, not these lousy SUVs, were tuned with precision and feel. Now everything they make, they wanna throw and M badge on it. It's a slap in the face to the passionate engineers at the M division.

Twin turbo engine sound aside, most car reviewers agree, that it's a bear to handle and drive. You almost have to be a stunt car driver to handle this machine at high speeds. In other words, it's like the behive without honey, unless you master it. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but to me it does look impressive on the highway, however. The cost is astronomical and BMW has crossed the line and made quite a departure from it's original concept of "the ultimate driving machine," to this machine! All this aside, your either going to love this vehicle or hate it, there is no gray area here.

I like the x6m, it is a damn beauty! But i would rather have the GLE 63 S coupé. Its got a more roaring v8 sound. It does me well. This one's noise is not that different from the normal bmw 6 cylinder inline engines.

It's a Crossplane V8, but BMW manages the exhaust flow of the V as two separate 4 cylinder banks and it ends up really smooth.
