I'm kind of wondering what was the point of the magical charms in the first place. Ladybug learns to make them out of nowhere, hands a few out, and half a season later Shadowmoth learns to destroy them out of nowhere. We're right back where we started.
I think is a thing from the point of view of the writers, they believe that's is enough with that un the papper, but when you see it in the show it doesn't enough. Another option is that they put it because they needed a excuse to gave Ladybug a upgrade/power up.
I mean maybe it was to show that the powers are endless and also in time breaker they said that mr pigeon would go to misour rat but they gave him a charm
Exactly what's the point next season we'll have mari, alix, luka and and alya coming up with an idea to stop hawkmoth again giving her a powerup again and then chat is in the dark and not getting enough screentime again.
About Tikki's hunger, while it was out of blue, I had a thoughts about the fact that Plagg is like that all the time, always craving for cheese, sometimes risking being discovered (wich ultimetly happens), etc. And since Tikki is, in theory, same level Kwami, you could expect she has similar apetite. But she stops herself on daily basis, tries to be reliable and eats when Marinette gives her sweets, not going to activly look for sweets on her own. So, with freuduan psychoanalisys, we can say it makes sense that "repressed" apetite can sometimes intensly burst out to the point of Tikki losing control over herown decisions, while Plagg being as greedy for cheese as he is, won't burst out because he doesn't bottle it up. Problem with that is Tikki should burst out (or at least show some hints of it) earlier giving that she lives in freaking BAKERY.
Good point of view, but yeah the lack of hinting and such, does make it more out of the blue. But tbh, miraculous doesn't have the best writing, so maybe that was a part of that or just plainly looked at once in a time type of joke, if that makes sense. Plagg does get a big amount of cheese time to time, so it does make more sense from that perspective why Tikki would act up. ^^

this would actually make sense, but none of the other kwamis get food even when they use their powers. Like think of all the times trixx, kaalki or sass used their powers and didnt eat anything after. I bet the only reason this episode exists is because astruc thought it would be funny to make tikki a crack addict also the kwamis are basically gods who are immortal. It doesnt really make sense that they'd need food at all aside for as a fuel for their magical powers.
I think tikki doesnt have an enormous hunger in general, like plagg. It's just a minor aspect of her, because of the yin yang philosophy, plagg has the urge to consume because he is destructive, but tikki have it in a lesser extent because they are present in each other. I think the main reason tikki got out of control is because she is separated from plagg, who should balance her out. I would like an episode where plagg gets one of Tikkis trait but very over the top, so ladybug have to intervene
I agree, the episode was definitely overhype and I wish they have done a little more to the story like Tikki’s human form, the Lucky Charm about to crash Earth, and just the emotional tensions itself because how was Ladybug not freaking out that her charms can no longer protect the former Akuma? I feel like that was a miss (But she probably overlooked it because Tikki was making her extremely hungry, but I wish we still saw some form of freak out at least)

@@Bezaliel13 The trailer kinda did already spoil everything? The broken charms were spoiled. Astro Cat was spoiled. And Tikki's ravenous hunger was spoiled. Nothing really impactful happened in this episode, it kinda felt like filler. And of course, it's normal for trailers to present episodes as more dramatic as they seem, and I didn't really have high hopes for this episode, since most of the time, the trailers are all dramatic, but when the actual episode comes, it's a bit underwhelming.

Honestly, I just feel this episode was not as good as people expected it to be. (No hate, I still like the episode, but the spoilers made it seem like a huge episode with a lot of plots, so it’s a bit underwhelming). I was super hyped about it being released, and the spoilers made it even more exciting. But Tikki using her powers didn’t last very long, in fact only a couple minutes. And I also thought this episode would be rather longer than other episodes, because from the spoilers, there’s kind of a plot: Marinette’s Family get’s akumatised -> Cat Noir and Ladybug fight them -> Ladybug backfires because of Tikki’s addiction of sweets??? -> Tikki uses her power by herself -> Cat Noir transforms into Astro Cat and saves the day -> Marinette pep talks Tikki -> The duo fight the villains again -> They win -> (What I hoped was that the ending included Ladybug having a sincere talk with Cat Noir and thanking him, but they ended with some paper crown scene??? It was cute, not gonna lie) But the episode was very rushed (In my opinion), and there were some scenes which could be dragged longer to let the viewers actually feel what’s going on, and to make the episode more in depth, and more character development for Marinette’s family. Unfortunately, it wasn’t really done very well. This episode had a lot of potential (like what Smarty Pants said), but it was underwhelming to me. Long comments are my reading specialty but anyway the episode is actually boring in my opinion so little happens in so much time I was trying not to fall asleep because it couldn't stick to 1 plot point like Tikki being super hungry Marinette entitled arrogance makes her believe that she knows tiki better than anyone Her family is fighting over marinettes life because there's only 2 reasonable people in her family Tikki having a human form shitmoth breaking akuma charms like goddamn pick one and to it for more than 3 minutes is that so damn hard
The thing with the Mega Akuma was complete bullshit. Like, what was even the point of the Magical Charms? It was actually really interesting how they attempted to delve into the elemental concepts governed by each Kwami. Magical Charm made sense as an upgrade/variety to Lucky Charm, as an aspect of the elemental Creation Magic governed by Tikki. It makes sense for the past Ladybugs (canon/noncanon) too, particularly Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, for her strength enhancing belt. Ladybug’s Creation/Good Luck Magic should’ve kept progressing to gaining a deeper understanding of how her imagination/subconscious influences the form her Lucky Charm takes and progressively become more deliberate with what she’s able to make. BUT NOW WHAT!?! The Magical Charms are basically pointless now. It was such an interesting use that now has little to no meaning. The Shadowmoth’s counter to the Magical Charm wasn’t even connected to Nooroo’s elemental concept of Transmission or Dusuu’s element of Emotion. He just concentrated really hard and made a “Mega Akuma” that can suddenly break literally any Magical Charm, without any apparent limit. A little focus is nothing in exchange for that. Even if you wanna say he concentrated on his “intent to transmit his desire into his targets” but not only was it an underwhelming pep talk with reward that feels unearned, but the power is just an exact copy of what he already does, not an interesting application of “Transmission” or “Emotion”. An actually creative workaround/upgrade for Shadowmoth could’ve combined the effects of the two elements in each Miraculous to create an Akuma that used Transmission Magic and Emotion Magic to infuse Akumas with the ability to heighten and exacerbate the emotions of anyone within a certain vicinity of it, resulting either in the target separating themselves from the Magical Charm long enough for it to Akumatize them or overloading the target’s emotions to the point where it temporarily destabilizes the protective effects of the Magical Charm. Also, when the hell will Chat Noir get an upgrade that works with Plagg’s element of Destruction? Maybe the ability to destroy intangible things or conduct Cataclysm through his Bō?
I know, it is still a kids show, but i always hope for a better quality. Sometimes i'm feeling like watching one of my old 80's He-Man Episode. Most of the episodes don't do anything relevant to the story and are ending with Gabriel/Shadow Moth angry shaking his hands in the air with a loud *insert Skeletors voice here* "I'll get you next time, Ladybug!". The protective charmes were a nice addition and now Shadow Moth can destroy them by putting concentration and energy in it? What's the point of inventing them in the first place? And why do the producers have to make Adrien as Cat Noir a side character in some of the episodes? Espescially after Hack-San and Rocketear he should have trust issues with Ladybug. Honestly, i hope we could get a better thought out Season 5 with a ongoing story
It's not that it's ridiculous it's that it's so stupid to hand a 14 year old a motorcycle and act like she's mature I mean she can't even control herself long enough to sit next to Adrien more less ride a motorcycle also marinettes definitely broke and motorcycles need gas so I'm not so sure her parents will just hand her money it's the right thing to do or something also what would she even use it for she doesn't need to get to school faster she's close enough to walk going around the city is something she really doesn't need to do because her friends don't live across the city and we've seen that every where she goes she can do on foot also isn't she supposed to be an environmentalist I doubt a motorcycle is helping climate change
MVP of this episode still goes for Plagg and Adrien. It's sad that Adrien saving planet while Marinette was pretty useless was not dramatic enough. On the other hand it was really great to see Plagg being only kwami that isn't scared of Tikki's psycho mode (unlike other kwamis), stays collected and just knows how to deal with it. I will also mention that Plagg usually offers other option to do than dealing with problems. This time he was the most responsible kwami of all. Maybe it didn't felt like biggest episode but I will still count that as Chat noir saving the day while Ladybug is unable to do anything.
…..you do realize that it was always *ALWAYS* marinette saving the day? Not Adrian? Or anyone? Even in the end of the episode where markov got akumatised. I really don’t care anymore I have lost interest ever since they dropped chloes redemption. But at the end it was STILL marinette/ladybug who saved the day.

Both of them can save the day either together or one kinda more than other depending on situation. This show isn't called Miraculous Ladybug. Ladybug was pretty much out of control in this episode. Without Chat noir planet would be destroyed right there. Even Plagg said there are extra reasons why cat miraculous exist. For moments when ladybug miraculous gets out of control like here. And don't bring second round of Talk no jutsu with Tikki because she was able to create first giant cake and Marinette wasn't able to stop her nor get rid of this cake nor transform to destroy this cake. I even need to say word ,,destroy" which was true solution here. Chat noir saved the day here and you can't change my mind. Don't push your thinking ,,always" on other people because not everyone thinks that.

But does chat hour ever get the chance to save the day?or is he always being replaced by Rena rouge, sacrificing himself, even in an episode where it was supposed to be about him. @@Bunnybot12 Rena just started working with them in season 4 and just bit of season 3. Rena isn't replacing Chat noir in any way. Chat is there since beginning and always will be. Rena is more like a spy for them and not main hero.
Watching this episode made me realize why Tikki said Marinette is the best holder she ever had despite everything we've seen. She's just as batshit crazy and two-faced as Marinette lmao
Marinette really got lucky this episode nobody got suspicious about her being Ladybug. First, escaping her family from rooftops twice, then saying to Cat Noir that the akuma is probably at home (at least she didn't say at my home), before correcting to at their home.
It sounds like the actual ones limiting the miraculous's powers are the owners. Such a shame none can or bother to practice, experiment, or learn the full use of their powers.
That's Master Fu's fault for not teaching Marinette what all the miraculous are, how to use them, which to use in every fight, not training her properly, and not telling Adrien about any of this or telling Marinette to teach Adrien(her partner, not sidekick)
Hey I just thought of something, what if Chat Blanc is actually Chat's true potential? Think about it, Marinette managed to get a new suit and new abilities from realising that she has no limits and considering Chat Blanc's ability is "The infinite power of destruction" this may be what he would have access to once he breaks his own limits
@@liamdalemon1525 Maybe, but I don't think he'd be able to throw those destruction disks. Everyone always gets a major power up when a superhero is transformed knto a supervising (think Queen Bee --> Queen Wasp) I think, realistically, Cat Noir will be able to use his cataclysm without transforming back once he is an adult holder (similar to how Hawkmoth doesn't have a timer to transform back after using an akuma). In that sense, I think he will be able to use "infinite" cataclysms, but I don't know if hell be able to throw them or expand them (but it's possible I guess)
It had so much potential. But: -animation sucked -chat noir could have saved the day it was not even adressed like ok nobody is going to talk abt the fact he saved the world lol when chat noir does a mistake it’s always adressed, but marinette for thinking she knows Tikki? -idk maybe because therewere too much ideas the exucation was bad? -for real Ladybug saying ´ at home ´ and not Chat noir realizing bruh
I kinda wish they made this episode a two-parter, and that they changed a few things, here’s a list, starting with what I’d change. 1. Gabriel breaking the charm - I’ll begin by stating that this is an example of why episodes should be released in order, this was a HUGE spoiler for episode 9 since apparently, that’s when Gabe gets his charm. As for breaking the charm itself, it was quite underwhelming, just like Smarty said, all he did was concentrate a lot, but that’s all he did, he should’ve done more. From what I interpret from Mr. Pigeon 72 when Ladybug powered up, she did it by focusing on what her abstract concept was, which was creation, and broke through her own limits of what she thought her power to create could do. If I had to put it into words, I’d say that by Ladybug realizing her her power had no limits, she could create whatever she wanted in order to do what she wanted to the most, which was helping people, keeping them safe from Shadowmoth, which in a nutshell is what the Magical Charms are. Gabriel should’ve done the same, since he only focused on his akuma, and not the amok, the only power he was regarding was the butterfly’s conceptual power of Transmission, so I believe the scene would’ve been better if he actually addressed it. If I was planning the scene for the show, I’d have Gabe have an internal monologue to which he states, “Transmission, it allows me to give powers to other based on what they want, on how they feel, in order to fulfill a TEMPORARY desire. So I must do that here, I must give the akuma the ability to do what I want, let it respond to how I feel, in order to fulfill my LONGEST desire!” something like that, maybe add a flashback of Emelie or something to given the scene some oomph. I feel like it would’ve made the scene stronger. 2. The reason Dearest Family exists - I just felt that Dearest Family existing just because they disagreed on how to raise Marinette and what’s best for her, and to me, that just felt boring. Tikki being obsessed with getting some of the Galette could’ve been ultilized better. If I were writing the episode, I’d have the family see Tikki since Tikki wouldn’t care about being seen since other citizens saw her when she took their galettes. Tikki could be scared and fly into Marinette’s room, to which the family follows her, where they question Marinette, she of course denies that Tikki is even real before storming off. This can make Tom and Sabine question their parenting, over the course of the series, they’ve felt so uninvolved in Marinette’s life, to me, they’re just there, not really fulfilling much besides being parents, whenever being Ladybug would interfere with Marinette’s life, her parents would be concerned in the first part of an episode, but by the end, they seemingly wave stuff off, instead of deciding to look further. 3. Tikki using her Lucky Charm - For the love of god, this was the big hype moment of the episode, the scene that made people who watched the trailer care, but it was all done so bad. It didn’t feel like there were any stakes or tension added because she did that, it just happened, then Cat Noir destroyed it. Super underwhelming considering that Tikki is regarded as the strongest kwami in the Chinese Miracle Box and she used her power without an owner. I’ll address how this could be done better when talking about what I’d do for a two-parter. And now I’m at what I’d do for a two parter, adding another episode could’ve allowed more things to happen and more elements of the first episode to be further explored. 1. Adding more severity to Tikki’s decision - Like I said before, Tikki using her power was very underwhelming, no real stakes and no real tension. To add some tension, I’d have Tikki creating the galette end the first part, with no real way to see how the problem can be solved until the next episode is shown. In the second part, to add some stakes, the writers could make it that the galette is so large, it’s starting to descend into Earth’s atmosphere, which will eventually wipe out humanity, but Tikki doesn’t care, in her sugar crazed state, she’s just “ooh, come to me my giant galette” and could honestly care less at the time at what might happen to the Earth. And with Tikki not thinking straight, Ladybug is out of commission, meaning it’s only up to Cat Noir and Rena Rouge, but in a turn of events, Shadowmoth tells Dearest Family to work with the heroes, after all, reviving Emelie is pointless if everyone dies. During that whole time, Marinette is an active member, making Dearest Family wonder why she was trying to do much and acting like she was so prematurely involved in the problem despite only being a normal citizen. This of course would be a big moment as it’s the first team up between villains and heroes. The tension and the stakes are there, and with the team up, it’s an epic moment. 2. Adding a reveal to Tom and Sabine - I know this might be controversial, but I still think it’d be a good idea. After stopping the mega galette and Tikki being put under control in a secret location in order to deakumatized, the family wonders about Marinette’s involvement in the recent mission, Roland and Nana then head back home as Tom and Sabine confront Marinette about it in her room, telling her that they haven’t been keeping real track of what she does on a day-to-day basis, and put a lot of trust in her when she says she’s fine, but think that because of that, she may have been getting herself into odd or dangerous things without their knowledge. They promise that they’ll try to pay more attention to what she does in her life, before mentioning Tikki again, saying that she can trust them as their parents, so Marinette ends the two parter telling them she’s Ladybug. It would add development of Tom and Sabine’s character, and add more people into Ladybug’s circle of knowledge. 3. Making Ladybug care more about the fact that her charms don’t work anymore - Just like most of the episode, that part felt underwhelming too. All she did was just make more, despite the fact that they can be overridden now, she didn’t seem to show any real, long-lasting worry. It would’ve been better if at the end of the episode, Ladybug met up with Cat Noir and Rena Rouge at night to discuss the matter, they could talk about how Shadowmoth could’ve done it, or how to possibly protect others with some different kind of charm, they can even work on deducing Shadowmoth’s identity since it makes sense that in order to bypass it, he must’ve had one to experiment with, so they can just go over who Ladybug has given a charm to so far, and bam, they find out it’s Gabe, which could then do more for future episodes regarding Adrien/Cat Noir. tikki isn the strongest kwami, since plage is suppost to be her equal, since plagg is suppose to be able to destroy anything... but of course is this show so who cares, this episode is a filler and nothing more... since this episode is filler, everything that happens here has even less weight on the show that usually, that is why marinette no care bout her charms ,etc,etc,etc... my proof? chat did something for onces, and he was "crucial" to save the city, there is no way in hell chat will have any short of weight in the main story of the show. so this is a filler

I think the kwamis affect them physically not their personalities since I think there was once a fan asking about that and it was confirmed? that their personalities don't change
I only really liked this episode for two reasons. 1) Tiki projecting some kind of humanoid shape when she uses her power on her own is fascinating from a lore perspective. 2) Chat Noir flying into space and returning to Earth as fast as he did has the "how powerful is this character" part of my brain going crazy. He had to be traveling at the speed of light or faster to pull something like that off.
I know Cat Noir normally leaves debris when he cataclysms something, but I'm willing to cut him some slack in this case. I can't recall seeing him destroy a lucky charm before. Because the giant galette was created by magic no part of it existed before that moment and Cat Noir just returned it to what it was before. Normally a cataclysmed item doesn't explode. Granted he had trouble with sentimonsters.

Personally, I think “Dearest Family” is one of those episodes that’s meant to be a prelude to something bigger later. Considering that we’ve seen the kwamis use their powers unrestrained many times in the season at this point, I feel like there’s something that will be done with it later, and maybe we’ll get to see Tikki’s powers then. The last bit with Gabriel was also pretty important since it basically confirms that he wants to legitimately alter reality in order to be with Emilie again. Other than that, though, the episode was kind of underwhelming 🤷🏽♀️.
2:15 Here's my idea. Mega Akuma is created by combining akumatizing two butterfly at the same time, so when it encounter the magic charm one akuma destroy itself to destroy the magic charm.
"gabe plans to rewrite realty" when I hear that I imagined this happening chat noir with cataclysm activates jumps up and touches hawkmoth's shoulder, there's an explosion then when the dust clears gabe looks up at him injured and says "you should have went for the head", before taking his ring and making the wish. (he already has ladybug's earrings that's why she's not here)
5:27 That's not impossible that they could produce Tom. We only see these two and not the entire family tree; there may be behemoths mixed in the genes + who's to say that Granddad wasn't a behemoth himself back in his time? I mean as people get older, they do shrink, so it isn't a stretch that Tom came from these set of parents. I also say this cuz my Nana had been a size 8 ALL her life up to the day she died; she didn't give birth to a son like Andre the Giant but came pretty damn close.
Pretty good explanation but there maybe just another more simpler explanation and that is that with these animated characters it’s really all about caricature and chooses a design that looks amazing and fits into what was written about that character and what he or she in any case represents.
I thought it was hilarious astro-cat was hyped up for a month or two, then proceeded to have maybe 15 seconds of screen time. I liked the episode, even if it was a little over hyped. A lot of good ideas but maybe a bit rushed fulfilling all of them. I also believe this episode should have come out later. How did Gabe get a charm? How did Sabine get Akumatized? Seems out of place.
I was wondering the same thing! The episodes that were aired are out of order and it just made the storyline more confusing. I remember seeing this episode and I was like “Gabriel got a charm? Sabine was akumatized? When tf was that??”

This shoud have been two episodes. The Tikki sugar rush plot and the idea that the charms don’t work anymore clash a lot and neither get enough screen time. Okay, here’s my idea: Yeet Simpleman out as an episode out of here and replace it with the Tikki sugar rush plot. The whole episode is about Tikki going nuts over sugar and preventing Ladybug from saving the day, which causes Chat Noir to be the one who gets to restrain the Akuma, while Marinette talks Tikki out of her drug addict episode. Tikki makes the giant Lucky Charm that threatens to destroy the planet and Chat Noir destroys it, before Marinette calms her down and then after she transforms into Ladybug to deakumatize whoever got akumatized. Could be anyone without a charm, most probably a repeat villain. Then, after that does Dearest Family take place, where the plot about Hawk Moth figuring out how to bypass the charms is the focal point. He gets more time and, preferably, a better explanation for the making the Mega Akuma. Goes and akumatizes Marinette’s family and then the episode is mostly just fighting, because it’s a lot more interesting for Ladybug to have to go up against her family, all 4 of them as well, compared to any regular Akuma. And between the fighting, Chat Noir and her ponder on why the charm that Ladybug had given Sabine during the episode, that hasn’t aired yet, isn’t working or if Sabine had lost it or sth. And then after they win, have them be worried about the prospect of the charms now being useless, leaving them back in square 1. Then have the scene with Gabriel being Thanos. (Also, I would’ve said to have more time explaining how Gabriel even got that charm, but it probably happened in a previous episode. Possibly the one where Sabine gets akumatized, because according to the production order, I don’t see it happening in any of the earlier ones.) Imo, apart from sparing us the existence of Simpleman, having gone like this, it would have given both plots a lot more time to shine, but instead we got them smushed in one mediocre episode.
I was kinda shocked that after all those time that SM used his brain to reveal the identities of the other temporary holders (Luka, Zoe, etc) and even made the charms useless in just a short amount of time and He still haven't figured out how Mari's parents and relatives have a charm and didn't get suspicious of her escaping from their roof top twice, Alya getting a permanent miraculous, being able to counter a akuma like in the bathroom scene where she is crying y'kno what I mean, and like not even having the slightest thinking to go and check out the park where Tikki is creating a huge ass lucky charm that almost destroyed the whole earth and didn't even say to 1out of the 4 akumatized family members to check it out I mean- Mari is the only one standing there and screaming to Tikki to stop it like- dude where all your brain go?
Lowkey when I was watching this episode a few things got me thinking - Since Hawkmoth can get an upgrade that means anyone can to so the question is when will Cat get one they can probably use one of his concept art abilities and implement them - What is Sabine power in her akumatized form. -
If ladybug powers is for her to think and create what she wants for her powers, and hawkmoth is for him to concentrate really hard and create something powerful, then probably chatnoir's one is going to be about his feelings I think.
Personally, I loved the episode I did notice your points and on some level I agree but It didn’t bring down the episode quality. However, I think that this episode was the only one to be on par with Chat Blanc, others come close but never match it, and personally here are my favorite revelations: - Kwamis can influence their wielders in more ways then originally thought. - Sass, Baark, and Wayzz being leaders because of their skills is absolutely fantastic (Also, I would hope the Kwami with literal timeline control would be the wisest) - sorry about your family reveal theory for this episode was wrong but glad you enjoyed the episode anyway.

I've always kind of wondered if it's a canon thing for the kwami personality to merge with the holder. I mean when has Adrien ever flirted like Chat? We see Plagg is the one that does that to Tikki, including nicknames. The puns are Adrien though. This is besides the cat like behaviour. One thing I also wonder is since the holders can eat the power up themselves(not a revelation in this ep), can't they just eat to recharge their timer? Is de-transforming and feeding the kwami directly actually necessary?
If Ladybug would come up with a Lucky charm to make other akuma proof and using even more of her power using Alya advice…. Hawkmoth would do the same now using 100% of his concentration and power to make Mega Akuma to break it using Nathalie advice….
It would be a never-ending loop. Ladybug makes a mega-charm to stop the megakuma, Hawk Moth creates a megamegakuma, Ladybug makes a megamegacharm etc etc.
How is it possible we've seen Tikki eating all sorts of sweets and pastries for 3 and a half seasons without repercussions, then all of a sudden she becomes a sugar addict because... that was one especially good gallette!?
The megakuma and, Kuro Neko, Rena Furtive, and the charms are proof positive that our time is being wasted and with maybe a day of hard work (with Gabe spending a cool 2 minutes) if the heroes or villians want to boost their power or change it in some shape or form they merely need to concentrate harder. A muggle who just learned that Marinette is Ladybug had to tell her that her power is that of creation so why can't she just make something that will stop akumas from attacking people.

One problem with rules and discipline: They don't always work like they do back then. If Rolland suggests on dishing out punishment to Marinette whenever she breaks a rule, I can tell you for sure that would never work or not work as well.
Probably the funniest part of this ep was when Marinette's grandfather just starts beating THE MAYOR with a baguette so the Dupain-Cheng family could share the last galette.
One thing I didn't understand in this episode is how one akuma akumatized FOUR individual people with one completely SEPARATE piece of gallete. I know it's possible for people holding an item together, but the Mega Akuma went into what I assume is the last piece of gallete they were NOT holding
Marinette's Nona felt bad on her birthday because she didn't get her an age appropriate gift she thought she was 10 and treated her to a child's birthday, so I think that is why she gave her another gift a few months later
Sass is said on his wiki that he is the leader when the kwami's are inside the miracle box so maybe it applies outside it too? Also Marinette doesn't even listen to Tikki so I don't think she would listen to Sass or any other Kwami.
I think it would’ve been cooler if Gabe had to feed Nooroo in order to break the charm. It would make him “more powerful” after the Kwami ate and add depth for later seasons/episodes.

It would of been funny if the lucky charm hit the ceiling and went back down before unleashing the magic ladybugs. I can't remember her using it inside before, but I know she has.
I hate to say this, but this episode made me hate Tikki not because she loses control one tome, but this has happened so many times in the past, Plaag was literally created to destroy the mess she makes when she is addicted to something. (Why is no one talking about this) They keep treating Plaag like he is the irresponsible one all of the time. He made mistakes but he learned from them. Remember that time where he was so happy that he controlled his power. But no Tikki, the one who lied to her owner and yells at everyone else for being irresponsible is the responsible and perfect. I thought this episode redeemed Marinette a bit because she tried fixing her mistakes which is a first. She also let Cat Noir in and made him an important partner. The scene where they were king and queen together bought the original ladynoir duo back and I hope it stays that way.

Considering this a cycle, it makes me question why she has not controlled it and why she did not tell her owner ahead of the tome so they figure something out. I am mad at how Marinette and Tikki are poorly written by the writers because they both look like hypocrites almost every tome they appear on screen. Tikki always talks about honesty, but did not tell Marinette about this (understandable) and she practically threw the other kwamis under the bus. That is what made me mad, not something that was out of her control. Also, the end of the episode acted like she is totally under control now like nothing happened because of one conversation. This is a serious addiction that will take years to control. I know it is a kid’s show, but in this case, it should make sense. Sorry for being so mad. I just hate how these two characters are written.
In defense of not causing a small Pastry Apocalypse, the Mega-Gallette was outside the atmosphere and got Cataclysm-ed into pretty small pieces. Most bits were probably burned up on reentry.

The episode really was over hyped for nothing. It didn't deliver as much as I hoped. And Ladybug eating irked me so much. Ugh. It sucked to put it plainly
The only good thing out of this episode was learning about Gabriel's deranged plan of creating a new reality because of how this blows so many of the theories about Gabriel's wish out of the water due to us thinking he would wish for Emilie.

I think it's time for miraculous to give the other characters some screentime like it's always about mari yes she has good life, she's good at school, she obsessed with Adrien, she's ladybug what else if they did that we can see the other characters more and the episode won't be rush.

Exactly what's the point next season we'll have mari, alix, luka and and alya coming up with an idea to stop hawkmoth again giving her a powerup again and then chat is in the dark and not getting enough screentime again.
About Tikki's hunger, while it was out of blue, I had a thoughts about the fact that Plagg is like that all the time, always craving for cheese, sometimes risking being discovered (wich ultimetly happens), etc. And since Tikki is, in theory, same level Kwami, you could expect she has similar apetite. But she stops herself on daily basis, tries to be reliable and eats when Marinette gives her sweets, not going to activly look for sweets on her own. So, with freuduan psychoanalisys, we can say it makes sense that "repressed" apetite can sometimes intensly burst out to the point of Tikki losing control over herown decisions, while Plagg being as greedy for cheese as he is, won't burst out because he doesn't bottle it up.
Problem with that is Tikki should burst out (or at least show some hints of it) earlier giving that she lives in freaking BAKERY.
Good point of view, but yeah the lack of hinting and such, does make it more out of the blue. But tbh, miraculous doesn't have the best writing, so maybe that was a part of that or just plainly looked at once in a time type of joke, if that makes sense. Plagg does get a big amount of cheese time to time, so it does make more sense from that perspective why Tikki would act up. ^^

also the kwamis are basically gods who are immortal. It doesnt really make sense that they'd need food at all aside for as a fuel for their magical powers.
I think tikki doesnt have an enormous hunger in general, like plagg. It's just a minor aspect of her, because of the yin yang philosophy, plagg has the urge to consume because he is destructive, but tikki have it in a lesser extent because they are present in each other. I think the main reason tikki got out of control is because she is separated from plagg, who should balance her out.
I would like an episode where plagg gets one of Tikkis trait but very over the top, so ladybug have to intervene
I agree, the episode was definitely overhype and I wish they have done a little more to the story like Tikki’s human form, the Lucky Charm about to crash Earth, and just the emotional tensions itself because how was Ladybug not freaking out that her charms can no longer protect the former Akuma? I feel like that was a miss (But she probably overlooked it because Tikki was making her extremely hungry, but I wish we still saw some form of freak out at least)

Nothing really impactful happened in this episode, it kinda felt like filler. And of course, it's normal for trailers to present episodes as more dramatic as they seem, and I didn't really have high hopes for this episode, since most of the time, the trailers are all dramatic, but when the actual episode comes, it's a bit underwhelming.

yeah, is no one gonna aknowledge that chat noir just saved the planet?
Honestly, I just feel this episode was not as good as people expected it to be. (No hate, I still like the episode, but the spoilers made it seem like a huge episode with a lot of plots, so it’s a bit underwhelming). I was super hyped about it being released, and the spoilers made it even more exciting. But Tikki using her powers didn’t last very long, in fact only a couple minutes. And I also thought this episode would be rather longer than other episodes, because from the spoilers, there’s kind of a plot: Marinette’s Family get’s akumatised -> Cat Noir and Ladybug fight them -> Ladybug backfires because of Tikki’s addiction of sweets??? -> Tikki uses her power by herself -> Cat Noir transforms into Astro Cat and saves the day -> Marinette pep talks Tikki -> The duo fight the villains again -> They win -> (What I hoped was that the ending included Ladybug having a sincere talk with Cat Noir and thanking him, but they ended with some paper crown scene??? It was cute, not gonna lie)
But the episode was very rushed (In my opinion), and there were some scenes which could be dragged longer to let the viewers actually feel what’s going on, and to make the episode more in depth, and more character development for Marinette’s family. Unfortunately, it wasn’t really done very well. This episode had a lot of potential (like what Smarty Pants said), but it was underwhelming to me.

They also didn’t show how Tikki looked like when she was a “fairy”/“humanoid”, which some people were eager to see.

The thing with the Mega Akuma was complete bullshit. Like, what was even the point of the Magical Charms? It was actually really interesting how they attempted to delve into the elemental concepts governed by each Kwami. Magical Charm made sense as an upgrade/variety to Lucky Charm, as an aspect of the elemental Creation Magic governed by Tikki. It makes sense for the past Ladybugs (canon/noncanon) too, particularly Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, for her strength enhancing belt. Ladybug’s Creation/Good Luck Magic should’ve kept progressing to gaining a deeper understanding of how her imagination/subconscious influences the form her Lucky Charm takes and progressively become more deliberate with what she’s able to make.
BUT NOW WHAT!?! The Magical Charms are basically pointless now. It was such an interesting use that now has little to no meaning. The Shadowmoth’s counter to the Magical Charm wasn’t even connected to Nooroo’s elemental concept of Transmission or Dusuu’s element of Emotion. He just concentrated really hard and made a “Mega Akuma” that can suddenly break literally any Magical Charm, without any apparent limit. A little focus is nothing in exchange for that. Even if you wanna say he concentrated on his “intent to transmit his desire into his targets” but not only was it an underwhelming pep talk with reward that feels unearned, but the power is just an exact copy of what he already does, not an interesting application of “Transmission” or “Emotion”.
An actually creative workaround/upgrade for Shadowmoth could’ve combined the effects of the two elements in each Miraculous to create an Akuma that used Transmission Magic and Emotion Magic to infuse Akumas with the ability to heighten and exacerbate the emotions of anyone within a certain vicinity of it, resulting either in the target separating themselves from the Magical Charm long enough for it to Akumatize them or overloading the target’s emotions to the point where it temporarily destabilizes the protective effects of the Magical Charm.
Also, when the hell will Chat Noir get an upgrade that works with Plagg’s element of Destruction? Maybe the ability to destroy intangible things or conduct Cataclysm through his Bō?
I know, it is still a kids show, but i always hope for a better quality. Sometimes i'm feeling like watching one of my old 80's He-Man Episode. Most of the episodes don't do anything relevant to the story and are ending with Gabriel/Shadow Moth angry shaking his hands in the air with a loud *insert Skeletors voice here* "I'll get you next time, Ladybug!". The protective charmes were a nice addition and now Shadow Moth can destroy them by putting concentration and energy in it? What's the point of inventing them in the first place? And why do the producers have to make Adrien as Cat Noir a side character in some of the episodes? Espescially after Hack-San and Rocketear he should have trust issues with Ladybug.
Honestly, i hope we could get a better thought out Season 5 with a ongoing story
I think in France people around the age of 14, can ride some form of motorcycle. So the grandmother's gift isn't that ridiculous.

MVP of this episode still goes for Plagg and Adrien. It's sad that Adrien saving planet while Marinette was pretty useless was not dramatic enough. On the other hand it was really great to see Plagg being only kwami that isn't scared of Tikki's psycho mode (unlike other kwamis), stays collected and just knows how to deal with it. I will also mention that Plagg usually offers other option to do than dealing with problems. This time he was the most responsible kwami of all. Maybe it didn't felt like biggest episode but I will still count that as Chat noir saving the day while Ladybug is unable to do anything.

And don't bring second round of Talk no jutsu with Tikki because she was able to create first giant cake and Marinette wasn't able to stop her nor get rid of this cake nor transform to destroy this cake. I even need to say word ,,destroy" which was true solution here. Chat noir saved the day here and you can't change my mind. Marinette really got lucky this episode nobody got suspicious about her being Ladybug.
First, escaping her family from rooftops twice, then saying to Cat Noir that the akuma is probably at home (at least she didn't say at my home), before correcting to at their home.
Ladybug completely blew her secret identity when she says that the akuma must be at home. Good thing Adrien is the most oblivious person in the world.
It sounds like the actual ones limiting the miraculous's powers are the owners. Such a shame none can or bother to practice, experiment, or learn the full use of their powers.

Hey I just thought of something, what if Chat Blanc is actually Chat's true potential? Think about it, Marinette managed to get a new suit and new abilities from realising that she has no limits and considering Chat Blanc's ability is "The infinite power of destruction" this may be what he would have access to once he breaks his own limits

I think, realistically, Cat Noir will be able to use his cataclysm without transforming back once he is an adult holder (similar to how Hawkmoth doesn't have a timer to transform back after using an akuma). In that sense, I think he will be able to use "infinite" cataclysms, but I don't know if hell be able to throw them or expand them (but it's possible I guess)

I kinda wish they made this episode a two-parter, and that they changed a few things, here’s a list, starting with what I’d change.
1. Gabriel breaking the charm - I’ll begin by stating that this is an example of why episodes should be released in order, this was a HUGE spoiler for episode 9 since apparently, that’s when Gabe gets his charm. As for breaking the charm itself, it was quite underwhelming, just like Smarty said, all he did was concentrate a lot, but that’s all he did, he should’ve done more. From what I interpret from Mr. Pigeon 72 when Ladybug powered up, she did it by focusing on what her abstract concept was, which was creation, and broke through her own limits of what she thought her power to create could do. If I had to put it into words, I’d say that by Ladybug realizing her her power had no limits, she could create whatever she wanted in order to do what she wanted to the most, which was helping people, keeping them safe from Shadowmoth, which in a nutshell is what the Magical Charms are. Gabriel should’ve done the same, since he only focused on his akuma, and not the amok, the only power he was regarding was the butterfly’s conceptual power of Transmission, so I believe the scene would’ve been better if he actually addressed it. If I was planning the scene for the show, I’d have Gabe have an internal monologue to which he states, “Transmission, it allows me to give powers to other based on what they want, on how they feel, in order to fulfill a TEMPORARY desire. So I must do that here, I must give the akuma the ability to do what I want, let it respond to how I feel, in order to fulfill my LONGEST desire!” something like that, maybe add a flashback of Emelie or something to given the scene some oomph. I feel like it would’ve made the scene stronger.
2. The reason Dearest Family exists - I just felt that Dearest Family existing just because they disagreed on how to raise Marinette and what’s best for her, and to me, that just felt boring. Tikki being obsessed with getting some of the Galette could’ve been ultilized better. If I were writing the episode, I’d have the family see Tikki since Tikki wouldn’t care about being seen since other citizens saw her when she took their galettes. Tikki could be scared and fly into Marinette’s room, to which the family follows her, where they question Marinette, she of course denies that Tikki is even real before storming off. This can make Tom and Sabine question their parenting, over the course of the series, they’ve felt so uninvolved in Marinette’s life, to me, they’re just there, not really fulfilling much besides being parents, whenever being Ladybug would interfere with Marinette’s life, her parents would be concerned in the first part of an episode, but by the end, they seemingly wave stuff off, instead of deciding to look further.
3. Tikki using her Lucky Charm - For the love of god, this was the big hype moment of the episode, the scene that made people who watched the trailer care, but it was all done so bad. It didn’t feel like there were any stakes or tension added because she did that, it just happened, then Cat Noir destroyed it. Super underwhelming considering that Tikki is regarded as the strongest kwami in the Chinese Miracle Box and she used her power without an owner. I’ll address how this could be done better when talking about what I’d do for a two-parter.
And now I’m at what I’d do for a two parter, adding another episode could’ve allowed more things to happen and more elements of the first episode to be further explored.
1. Adding more severity to Tikki’s decision - Like I said before, Tikki using her power was very underwhelming, no real stakes and no real tension. To add some tension, I’d have Tikki creating the galette end the first part, with no real way to see how the problem can be solved until the next episode is shown. In the second part, to add some stakes, the writers could make it that the galette is so large, it’s starting to descend into Earth’s atmosphere, which will eventually wipe out humanity, but Tikki doesn’t care, in her sugar crazed state, she’s just “ooh, come to me my giant galette” and could honestly care less at the time at what might happen to the Earth. And with Tikki not thinking straight, Ladybug is out of commission, meaning it’s only up to Cat Noir and Rena Rouge, but in a turn of events, Shadowmoth tells Dearest Family to work with the heroes, after all, reviving Emelie is pointless if everyone dies. During that whole time, Marinette is an active member, making Dearest Family wonder why she was trying to do much and acting like she was so prematurely involved in the problem despite only being a normal citizen. This of course would be a big moment as it’s the first team up between villains and heroes. The tension and the stakes are there, and with the team up, it’s an epic moment.
2. Adding a reveal to Tom and Sabine - I know this might be controversial, but I still think it’d be a good idea. After stopping the mega galette and Tikki being put under control in a secret location in order to deakumatized, the family wonders about Marinette’s involvement in the recent mission, Roland and Nana then head back home as Tom and Sabine confront Marinette about it in her room, telling her that they haven’t been keeping real track of what she does on a day-to-day basis, and put a lot of trust in her when she says she’s fine, but think that because of that, she may have been getting herself into odd or dangerous things without their knowledge. They promise that they’ll try to pay more attention to what she does in her life, before mentioning Tikki again, saying that she can trust them as their parents, so Marinette ends the two parter telling them she’s Ladybug. It would add development of Tom and Sabine’s character, and add more people into Ladybug’s circle of knowledge.
3. Making Ladybug care more about the fact that her charms don’t work anymore - Just like most of the episode, that part felt underwhelming too. All she did was just make more, despite the fact that they can be overridden now, she didn’t seem to show any real, long-lasting worry. It would’ve been better if at the end of the episode, Ladybug met up with Cat Noir and Rena Rouge at night to discuss the matter, they could talk about how Shadowmoth could’ve done it, or how to possibly protect others with some different kind of charm, they can even work on deducing Shadowmoth’s identity since it makes sense that in order to bypass it, he must’ve had one to experiment with, so they can just go over who Ladybug has given a charm to so far, and bam, they find out it’s Gabe, which could then do more for future episodes regarding Adrien/Cat Noir.

I only really liked this episode for two reasons.
1) Tiki projecting some kind of humanoid shape when she uses her power on her own is fascinating from a lore perspective.
2) Chat Noir flying into space and returning to Earth as fast as he did has the "how powerful is this character" part of my brain going crazy. He had to be traveling at the speed of light or faster to pull something like that off.
When Tikki is trying to create the galette, there is some kind of fairy shape in the light. I really want to know what that is.

I know Cat Noir normally leaves debris when he cataclysms something, but I'm willing to cut him some slack in this case. I can't recall seeing him destroy a lucky charm before. Because the giant galette was created by magic no part of it existed before that moment and Cat Noir just returned it to what it was before. Normally a cataclysmed item doesn't explode. Granted he had trouble with sentimonsters.

Personally, I think “Dearest Family” is one of those episodes that’s meant to be a prelude to something bigger later. Considering that we’ve seen the kwamis use their powers unrestrained many times in the season at this point, I feel like there’s something that will be done with it later, and maybe we’ll get to see Tikki’s powers then. The last bit with Gabriel was also pretty important since it basically confirms that he wants to legitimately alter reality in order to be with Emilie again. Other than that, though, the episode was kind of underwhelming 🤷🏽♀️.

We only see these two and not the entire family tree; there may be behemoths mixed in the genes + who's to say that Granddad wasn't a behemoth himself back in his time? I mean as people get older, they do shrink, so it isn't a stretch that Tom came from these set of parents.
I also say this cuz my Nana had been a size 8 ALL her life up to the day she died; she didn't give birth to a son like Andre the Giant but came pretty damn close.
Pretty good explanation but there maybe just another more simpler explanation and that is that with these animated characters it’s really all about caricature and chooses a design that looks amazing and fits into what was written about that character and what he or she in any case represents.
I thought it was hilarious astro-cat was hyped up for a month or two, then proceeded to have maybe 15 seconds of screen time. I liked the episode, even if it was a little over hyped. A lot of good ideas but maybe a bit rushed fulfilling all of them. I also believe this episode should have come out later. How did Gabe get a charm? How did Sabine get Akumatized? Seems out of place.

This shoud have been two episodes. The Tikki sugar rush plot and the idea that the charms don’t work anymore clash a lot and neither get enough screen time.
Okay, here’s my idea:
Yeet Simpleman out as an episode out of here and replace it with the Tikki sugar rush plot. The whole episode is about Tikki going nuts over sugar and preventing Ladybug from saving the day, which causes Chat Noir to be the one who gets to restrain the Akuma, while Marinette talks Tikki out of her drug addict episode. Tikki makes the giant Lucky Charm that threatens to destroy the planet and Chat Noir destroys it, before Marinette calms her down and then after she transforms into Ladybug to deakumatize whoever got akumatized. Could be anyone without a charm, most probably a repeat villain.
Then, after that does Dearest Family take place, where the plot about Hawk Moth figuring out how to bypass the charms is the focal point. He gets more time and, preferably, a better explanation for the making the Mega Akuma. Goes and akumatizes Marinette’s family and then the episode is mostly just fighting, because it’s a lot more interesting for Ladybug to have to go up against her family, all 4 of them as well, compared to any regular Akuma. And between the fighting, Chat Noir and her ponder on why the charm that Ladybug had given Sabine during the episode, that hasn’t aired yet, isn’t working or if Sabine had lost it or sth. And then after they win, have them be worried about the prospect of the charms now being useless, leaving them back in square 1. Then have the scene with Gabriel being Thanos.
(Also, I would’ve said to have more time explaining how Gabriel even got that charm, but it probably happened in a previous episode. Possibly the one where Sabine gets akumatized, because according to the production order, I don’t see it happening in any of the earlier ones.)
Imo, apart from sparing us the existence of Simpleman, having gone like this, it would have given both plots a lot more time to shine, but instead we got them smushed in one mediocre episode.
I was kinda shocked that after all those time that SM used his brain to reveal the identities of the other temporary holders (Luka, Zoe, etc) and even made the charms useless in just a short amount of time and He still haven't figured out how Mari's parents and relatives have a charm and didn't get suspicious of her escaping from their roof top twice, Alya getting a permanent miraculous, being able to counter a akuma like in the bathroom scene where she is crying y'kno what I mean, and like not even having the slightest thinking to go and check out the park where Tikki is creating a huge ass lucky charm that almost destroyed the whole earth and didn't even say to 1out of the 4 akumatized family members to check it out I mean- Mari is the only one standing there and screaming to Tikki to stop it like- dude where all your brain go?

Personally, I loved the episode I did notice your points and on some level I agree but It didn’t bring down the episode quality. However, I think that this episode was the only one to be on par with Chat Blanc, others come close but never match it, and personally here are my favorite revelations:
- Kwamis can influence their wielders in more ways then originally thought.
- Sass, Baark, and Wayzz being leaders because of their skills is absolutely fantastic
(Also, I would hope the Kwami with literal timeline control would be the wisest)

I've always kind of wondered if it's a canon thing for the kwami personality to merge with the holder. I mean when has Adrien ever flirted like Chat? We see Plagg is the one that does that to Tikki, including nicknames. The puns are Adrien though. This is besides the cat like behaviour.
One thing I also wonder is since the holders can eat the power up themselves(not a revelation in this ep), can't they just eat to recharge their timer? Is de-transforming and feeding the kwami directly actually necessary?

It would be a never-ending loop. Ladybug makes a mega-charm to stop the megakuma, Hawk Moth creates a megamegakuma, Ladybug makes a megamegacharm etc etc.
How is it possible we've seen Tikki eating all sorts of sweets and pastries for 3 and a half seasons without repercussions, then all of a sudden she becomes a sugar addict because... that was one especially good gallette!?
The megakuma and, Kuro Neko, Rena Furtive, and the charms are proof positive that our time is being wasted and with maybe a day of hard work (with Gabe spending a cool 2 minutes) if the heroes or villians want to boost their power or change it in some shape or form they merely need to concentrate harder. A muggle who just learned that Marinette is Ladybug had to tell her that her power is that of creation so why can't she just make something that will stop akumas from attacking people.

gabe has akumatized so many people, so many times, that now he just chills in his room, eating a truely massive slice of gallete, just chillin.
One problem with rules and discipline: They don't always work like they do back then. If Rolland suggests on dishing out punishment to Marinette whenever she breaks a rule, I can tell you for sure that would never work or not work as well.
Probably the funniest part of this ep was when Marinette's grandfather just starts beating THE MAYOR with a baguette so the Dupain-Cheng family could share the last galette.

One thing I didn't understand in this episode is how one akuma akumatized FOUR individual people with one completely SEPARATE piece of gallete.
I know it's possible for people holding an item together, but the Mega Akuma went into what I assume is the last piece of gallete they were NOT holding
Marinette's Nona felt bad on her birthday because she didn't get her an age appropriate gift she thought she was 10 and treated her to a child's birthday, so I think that is why she gave her another gift a few months later

I hate to say this, but this episode made me hate Tikki not because she loses control one tome, but this has happened so many times in the past, Plaag was literally created to destroy the mess she makes when she is addicted to something. (Why is no one talking about this) They keep treating Plaag like he is the irresponsible one all of the time. He made mistakes but he learned from them. Remember that time where he was so happy that he controlled his power. But no Tikki, the one who lied to her owner and yells at everyone else for being irresponsible is the responsible and perfect.
I thought this episode redeemed Marinette a bit because she tried fixing her mistakes which is a first. She also let Cat Noir in and made him an important partner. The scene where they were king and queen together bought the original ladynoir duo back and I hope it stays that way.

Considering this a cycle, it makes me question why she has not controlled it and why she did not tell her owner ahead of the tome so they figure something out.
I am mad at how Marinette and Tikki are poorly written by the writers because they both look like hypocrites almost every tome they appear on screen. Tikki always talks about honesty, but did not tell Marinette about this (understandable) and she practically threw the other kwamis under the bus. That is what made me mad, not something that was out of her control.
Also, the end of the episode acted like she is totally under control now like nothing happened because of one conversation. This is a serious addiction that will take years to control. I know it is a kid’s show, but in this case, it should make sense.

In defense of not causing a small Pastry Apocalypse, the Mega-Gallette was outside the atmosphere and got Cataclysm-ed into pretty small pieces. Most bits were probably burned up on reentry.

And Natalie… it’s sad cause the fandom knows exactly the kind of things the show needs but the devs r so airheaded. They need to understand that 6 yo aren’t their target audience..

Like we know nothing about mylene, ivan, alix, kim, max, nathaniel, marc, sabrina and even nino we know nothing about them except for their personality that's all we know.
