I love when "journalists" try to say that they're making call of duty more milsim, it's all that I'm seeing from places like GameSpot. How the extra health and .01% slower movement speed makes the game more milsim like even though it's just a full price dlc for the last title

mission starts about 4-10 min of nothing happening as you move from the start position (LZ) to the mission objective. maybe dodging some patrols.
then you spend 5 min on the location getting into position (writing down and calling out stuff). then when all is ready team lead goes.
okey fire on targets in 3...2...1...Fire.
followed by 30 sec of intense firefight.
then 1 to 3 min of a lul as you enter the place scan it for hostile+objective maybe another fire fight or two as you enter buildings.
then exfill.
and now the GM decedes to ramp it up by sending a enemy squad or two as reinforcement that you need to ambush if you wish to win it.

I wish devs would add mechanics to punish sliding lol. Operators loudly grunting in pain as they scrape the skin on their legs off, loud gravel and dirt dragging sounds, falling over if you slide over the wrong terrain, face planting into a door. I’d genuinely be fine with sliding if it was like this

The problem for me CoD was always a little exaggerated but it was telling a War story where you we’re generally the hero. Now it is about cosmetics and micro transactions and season passes. The one thing CoD doesn’t try to do anymore is focus on a good story.

I don't know about that, that's actually one of the few things Cod can pull off, it's story/campaign.
???? the campaign and zombies are very much the only 2 things to look forward too, the other 2 (multiplayer, warzone) are literally only there to make you mad about (blacked out operators)/feel fomo for skins so they can take your money via the battlepass and cosmetic packs

The weirdest thing for me is that this game's selling point is OG MW2 maps on a modern MW3 game. This should have been the case for the modern MW2 and not MW3. I'm too old to understand this LOL
I'm surprised no one has noticed that. Which tells me one of two things:
A) Everyone has a lack of recognition.
B) Everyone is too young to remember OG MW.
@@JohnDoe-wt9ek It's old news at this point. We've known about that since the release because it's supposed to be one of the major selling points. But the second point is definitely correct because pretty sure we got Overpass in OG MW2 and people are still excited for all the old maps. Like if you actually take the time to look at them, they were kinda shit. Had 200+ hours in MW2 between steam and xbox360. The maps in MW2 were good for screenpeeking your buddies on Skidrow, not online 6v6. Except Highrise and Terminal. Should have just done a series of polls to get the most popular 4 maps and put those in with a bunch of other new maps. Favela does not hold up.
A few of the MW2 maps they're putting on a pedestal were already brought back in MW2019 but absent in MWII, same deal with a few of the weapons. I wouldn't be surprised if they intentionally shafted MWII to make MWIII seem like a huge content drop

@Envix_79 I mean story wise,on a pure action standpoint dangling upside down from a helo blasting people in the face or sniper missions etc will always be fun. It's really hard to mess up COD pve gameplay spec ops and standard/zombie survival are always fun

Campaign for mw2 was aight but very nostalgia-baity. Only part I liked was the Sicario-inspired missions, and even then it's sort of missing the point of Sicario lol

I literally grew up playing Call of Duty since Call of Duty 3. I remember it progressively getting better each game title. Black ops 2 was the absolute highlight of my childhood, I literally had hundreds if not over 1000+ hours on that game. Then came Ghosts and every release has been awful after that. I literally only buy Call of Duty for the campaigns at this stage because they have awesome storylines. But I usually end up hopping on Multiplayer hoping for the next title to revive itself to spend 4-5 hours being disappointed again.
The black ops games were peak. I honestly like Cold War.
Agreed black ops 2 handsome my favorite. I got so good I only used double barrel shotgun and throwing axes to troll.. many other trolling methods too like radar hammers and motion detectors , hardened pro, flackjacket, and whatever else was good for hiding in a tiny one room one door building, ended up recruiting ransoms all with heavy machine guns and hardened to shoot through walls at people on the mini map.. search and destroy style.. also ninja defusing Boms with tac knife only...
black ops 3 was the last good cod. It also had one of the best zombie modes with so many maps

@@damndanieINo no no and no. The last good CoDs were pre BO2. Black Ops 2 was overhyped garbage that gets praised by late zoomers and BO3 was beyond garbage. Only the zombies was enjoyable.
The MW cheaters are bad, but what feels worse is when you realize that absolutely nothing you do in it matters because they're just going to put out another one right after anyway. Other games at least have permanence.
This is why I avoided CoD and other games like anything that's NBA 2k, NFL, Madden. They're literally releasing "new" games every year when it's literally the same recycled garbage from the older games, only thing new is the rosters.
CoD never really had permanence tbh. I remember grinding levels for unlocks and what not in MW2, then BO came out shortly after and the grind began anew, then MW3 came out shortly after and the grind began anew. After MW3 I was just done and switched to BF3 and BF4.

I feel like MW19 is the exception, guns felt pretty nutty there. The Oden really sounded like you were slamming large caliber bullets.
A lot of people do, hence the soundpack in MW2022 you can pay like 10-20 bucks for that just gives you the older, better sound design from MW2.

Mw (cod 4) cod2 and WaW were the peak cod games for me. So atmospheric and fun while having so much character.
Yeah cod 2 and bo1 were my favorites. Cod 2 was the best in terns of classic cod while bo1 was the best in terms of post-cod4.

I've been watching COD game play for a few years now and just realized they weren't all the same game.

I noticed that they just utilized all the maps from OG Modern Warfare, and thought no one would notice.
Additionally, its surprising that they maintain sliding and all the other high speed movement functions, when that has been a complaint within COD for the previous two iterations of MW.
Its heavily abused and mitigates any concept of "milsim" that CoD might be shooting for because its infinite in its usage. That and tactical sprint.
But this is the most important issue:
They just reskinned MW2 and called it MW3.
At least the original trilogy had some identity between each other. What I've also noticed is that Activision didn't even give Treyarch or Sledgehammer a chance to make their own game. I think after Cold War and Vanguard, they wanted to strictly keep it to MW. And now that they're rushing MW3 out the door to keep sales up, I figure that its probably going to flop. Hard.
Activision is killing its money making franchise... All because of the concept of trying to make money from yearly releases and microtransactions...
You are so far off the mark with that first line, I don't think it's possible to be any more wrong. They are banking on the fact people recognize those maps because basically every original map they've released for the past 2 games has been dogshit or mediocre at best. They are hoping the nostalgia will bring in sales.
The sliding/jumping aspect was basically gutted in MW2022 and received a lot of negative feedback, hence their backpedaling. In my experience, the shift back is for the best since MW2022 was just full of people not moving because doing so put you at a huge disadvantage, but I suppose that's irrelevant, just giving you context for their decision.
I think they've been going for a milsim aesthetic that they just kinda abandon once they realize they can just make more money by abandoning the idea with whacky skins, but none of the changes they've made have ever made it seem like they were going for a milsim gameplay change, so I don't think it really matters to them.
In contrast to you first line, that last line is spot-on. They just want money. As someone who basically hadn't touched the series since BLOPSII, I had hoped MW2022 would be them finally coming back to form. You know what it taught me?

Same. I loved the mode where you had to survive against waves of ever increasing in difficulty. Eventually had like three or four juggernauts coming at you as well as an attack helicopter. Always died at that point but it was EPIC compared to what they release these days.

Yup. The whole quick-movement idea first ruined CoD back in Advanced Warfare with all that wall-running nonsense. Now it's everywhere in all forms, and ruined FPS games completely. Explains why MilSims and Tac Shooters like Ready or Not, Squad, Hell Let Loose did/do so well.. this sliding 90 miles and dropshotting thing is stupid.

Honestly since MW2 (original) the gameplay has been all about gimmicks and spray n pray. At least S&D still had some time to setup traps and kill zones then, now, it feels no different than TDM. I miss original MW and World at War multiplayers.
