7/2024....I love listening to his voice,....it is soothing to my ears. I have purchased some of his books and have been given some as gifts. I enjoy his wit, and family stories. I often agree with his annoyances. I feel we could become friends, as I have the same obsession "to clean up the streets" around my house". Something David has talked about in more recent years, that he likes to do.
motorbikehorseman JR is doing the kind of automatic laughing at EVER THING that David refers to when asked about the difficulty of being taken seriously when one is a humor writer. Also, it's NOT SeDAHris, you nincompoop.
Mr Ross”S laughter was sooo distracting.. I am glad he enjoyed it..but there was something about it..too loud..too overwhelming.. I love David” work. Thank you for sharing. Turn J R”S microphone off.
This is the fault of the interviewer who laughs at everything the author says. Same laugh whether the comments are funny or thoughtful or serious--absolutely RUINS the interview.
His opinion of his father has matured since this interview. Maybe years of therapy brought to the forefront that his father was a huge dick to him….until dementia set in.
Grief Ross has the most awful laugh when it isn't right for him .Has he no idea about the enjoyment for the audience he's ruining ? Clearly not .David Sedaris is brilliant but got to the point when the stupid laugh was just too much ..
He doesn’t prey on them he uses memory and expands on this and “better artists don’t do this specifically “ really don’t know who you have been reading or listening to within your narrow criteria but I fear your criticism is misplaced
@@wcfields547 of course every artistic writer uses really close stuff, it is what is known, but when david's sister who has mental illness turns up at his theatre room and he orders his manager to shut the door on her and he never sees her alive again? and then he uses that? thoroughly dislikeable on several levels, David is very adroit, listenable, but actually, not very nice

I get all of his books out of the library and his audiobooks on CD; so I'm glad that he approves of that 🙂
Brilliant. I'm a lifelong fan
2:51 wizard sleeve - never heard of that term, nor the band.
Me either... I scrolled through the comments to see if anyone said what if meant...no luck so far...
Just googled it ... oooohhhh, now I get it! 🤣🤣🤣
I think it may have been popularized in "Borat" wherein he compares a woman's genitalia with "sleeve of wizard"
If you wanna see a gr8 interview with David - check out The Agenda with Steve Paikin 6/17/2018
Thanks for this- I will look for it!
Thanks; it was a great interview, and very comfortable (as opposed to this particular interview). I just finished "Calypso" so timing is spot on.
@Brecken Alden You're right . . . no one gives a shit
Thank you for the tip. It was a good one.
such a very very funny man
"...I would've been a drug addict who didn't then turn around and right about it." Love it!
And write about it.
Why is Jon Ross laughing when one wouldn't. It's not about you Jon Boy
Yeah, his sporadic, ill-timed laughter is really distracting.
motorbikehorseman Blame the sound guy - Jonathan's mic should not be up at that point.
Seriously!!!!! I want to say STHU!!

motorbikehorseman DISTURBING!
Some people are so overly sensitive about things "Chinese Food". Just suck it up, it's called humour and taste in food for that matter.
Love his books

The more I listen to David when he is speaking off the cuff, the more I prefer his readings and books.
This is the fault of the interviewer who laughs at everything the author says. Same laugh whether the comments are funny or thoughtful or serious--absolutely RUINS the interview.
Reminds me of a gay Larry David,. Think the movie would have been monumental success, for those who appreciate clever wit. Much like "Curb..."
Band name I've always dreamed David Sedaris would approve of? - " Bit's of Barry"
As much as I wanted to hear the reading the host’s distracting laughter kept telling me, move on. 😕
They look like they're floating in space.
Turn Rosses mic off.
His opinion of his father has matured since this interview. Maybe years of therapy brought to the forefront that his father was a huge dick to him….until dementia set in.
This is not one of Jon Ross best interviews... He just seems off, not very relaxed... Next time Jon.

YES! Ross laughs robotically at everything David says, as though he's not listening at anything David says and it's awful.
2019
Why give this chap an interview, this guy belongs on children's television
who the hell is this obnoxious interviewer . . . and how did he get this job? Soooo Annoying. I'm surprised that David didn't address this.
i like listening to him but he is very lucky with his family because he preys on them, better artists don't do this so specifically
He doesn’t prey on them he uses memory and expands on this and “better artists don’t do this specifically “ really don’t know who you have been reading or listening to within your narrow criteria but I fear your criticism is misplaced

"Better artists" ??? How about examples instead of empty phrases 🤣
Jonathan ' me me me' Ross an unwelcome distraction.
"Slave." There, I said it.
@@nd.nowwhat watch the interview...
Interviewer is so annoying lol
Terrible, awful interviewer!
The title's inclusion of "Diabetes" is offensive. And Jonathan Ross needs intense speech therapy. Who is his audience?
You’re offended at the mention of a medical condition, but also mocking someone’s speech impediment?
When your job is to introduce *one person*, learn how to pronounce his name
. . . . "Sedauwis" . . . ? ? ?
@@TomLloyd-18 he has a speech impediment, get over it.
Is Jon's inability to pronounce the letter r an accent or a speech impediment?
Speech issue. He has a lisp.
Why do the Brits hire so many radio and TV personalities that have speech impediments and slight lisps? It's so damn annoying and distracting.
You're damn annoying and distracting. Have a nice day.
@@flaneur5560 So why take your time to even say something to me? DUH! Sorry for asking a question
