I bought the wind burner five days ago. The stove is excellent and I boiled 500mls in the stated 2.5 mins, however I had the same problem with the mug as stated above. It’s a real pain getting it released and I wouldn’t want to be caught in the mountains when this occurs. Otherwise a great product.

I bought one. And the Reactor stove also. And the Whisperlite Universal as well. I like to have good gear.

So, this is a significantly upgraded version of a Jet Boil?

+MSRGear I heard that the pot is aluminium, is that true? and if it is why don't you use titanium instead, boiling water in aluminium pot is very bad for health.

The WindBurner pot is made of hard-anodized aluminum

Hi MSR. I am having an issue with my Wind boiler (now Wind burner). The cup on the bottom rides up and the three pieces on the inside that is designed to keep it tight get jammed on the part where the bottom piece is welded on. Then I can't get it off without jamming a knife down in it and it requires a lot of effort.
I bought it from MEC in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada, but they asked me to send it to them at their cost which is not fair. It is not even close to being a year old and only used a few times. I LOVE the stove system but the cup stuck to the bottom is a problem. What can I do about this?

My Windboiler (now called windburner) did not work and MSR has failed to send me my replacement pieces. The plastic cup on the bottom gets stuck and can't be gotten off without forcing a knife in it or the handle of a long metal spoon. I was in the back country and this happened the first time and it wasn't very good not being able to use my stove as it was winter.
Eventually the cup was broken trying to get it off. As well, the sleve is supposed to come off by pulling back a tab and then go back on but mine comes off all the time now and and is a spill hazard.
I wrote this off as a first production run defect and when I posted her they were quick to respond and offer assistance. However, after their initial contact they failed to ship the replacement cup and sleeve and then failed to respond to my follow up email at first until I called them.
It's been weeks and weeks and after numerous phone calls still I don't have my fix. They say it is the mail service takes time but I live in Canada not Australia and I ship from the US all the time and know how long it takes.
I believe they told me they shipped it the first time, but didn't and when I called them out they then shipped it a second time, maybe, but then again I don't have it yet and weeks keep slipping away.
They would not just express ship. I understand using reg mail to save, makes sense, but after me paying for a defective stove then getting the run around you would think they would step up
I buy MSR even though it is more expensive because hey supposedly service what they sell. Will I have the same issue if my MSR Hubba NX has an issue. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Why even keep making the Pocket Rocket??
This is far and away better!,lol

While the WindBurner series is a reliable all-weather single-pot boiling system, the PocketRocket is a significantly cheaper alternative that can work with a variety of sizes of pots and pans. Which stove is right for you just depends on the person/activity/budget.
