Speaking in tongues is something everyone who receives the holy spirit acquires. When you say not everyone receives that, you are referring to the gift of tongues which is different. That is a gift from the holy spirit not the manifestation of the spirit itself (I think). When your spirit prays and you give voice to it you will speak in tongues but that's not the gift. That's something the bible says/encourages everyone as in every believer to do in private as it edifies oneself (I think)
Speaking in tongues can be an aspect of prayer but its not like if you don't then God doesn't hear you. Prayer is simply talking to God. Sometimes you might be making a petition known to him or other times just asking him questions and discussing with him. You need to know what you are saying. That's why Paul says that he prays with words he knows along the the spirit. (1 Cor 14:15)

Sometimes we can't express the words in English or whatever known language we speak so the Holy Spirit prayer can Sometimes help us to recall the words we need to pray in English in order for us to Declare according to the will and promises that we didn't think of before we prayed Spirit lead. No it's a language shared between you and God, it's better to prophesy than to speak in tongues openly, cause no one will understand unless there's and interpreter.

Most prayers I have read or heard sound like sweet simple symphonies. Kinda makes me not want to pray and you cause other believers to faint in their walk. How your walk or your prayer life is with God is fine if God finds it pleasing. The way you put it makes it seem like a person should be perfect. Let the Holy Spirit lead. How pastor put it is a great start. There should be no addition in the matter. Our biggest problem is not letting The Holy Spirit lead.

Is speaking in tongues necessary cause not everyone receives that?
Speaking in tongues is something everyone who receives the holy spirit acquires. When you say not everyone receives that, you are referring to the gift of tongues which is different. That is a gift from the holy spirit not the manifestation of the spirit itself (I think). When your spirit prays and you give voice to it you will speak in tongues but that's not the gift. That's something the bible says/encourages everyone as in every believer to do in private as it edifies oneself (I think)
Speaking in tongues can be an aspect of prayer but its not like if you don't then God doesn't hear you. Prayer is simply talking to God. Sometimes you might be making a petition known to him or other times just asking him questions and discussing with him. You need to know what you are saying. That's why Paul says that he prays with words he knows along the the spirit. (1 Cor 14:15)
Paul also says "I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you". (1 Corinthians 14:18)

Ask God to save you, and wait for him to speak out of you.
Pray out loud about what you need help with and fully submerge your mind in giving all of it up. Your tongue will go into random movements almost so that your words aren’t making sense but you know your heart and your mind are focused on it. Then and only then will you see why the Pentecost do it so much. It takes time and practice. But get emotional when you pray, your are entering the presence of the Almighty.

What does speaking in tongues mean though?
