    If there's a song for the feeling - 'I want to cry but I can't', its this. Absolutely wonderful.

    I love your music! It’s so cool to see other bands writing math-rock style jams.

    Why is Japan so much better at the Western sound than Westerners? It's insane. Just one amazing band after the other. This is so far down the rabbit hole at this point, I think I'm just home now.

      No western sound. Just sound

    • @thelastmanonearth2631
      @thelastmanonearth2631 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@neidermeyer9361 - Rock and jazz were both created in the west. So if you're playing rock and jazz, you're playing western music. Very, very straightforward stuff here.

    • @neidermeyer9361
      @neidermeyer9361 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thelastmanonearth2631 It's a pointless discussion. Yo could trace rock roots all the way back to Africa. Music is not an invention of any human. It has been there all the time. No west. No east. Just music my friend.

    • @thelastmanonearth2631

      @@neidermeyer9361 Yeah, I remember my first semester of college too. Unfortunately, when you grow up, you'll realize that it's all of these "constructs" that are the actual constructs. I'm not interested in tracing sound all the way back to its neanderthal roots. The guitar-driven rock music coming out of Japan today originated and was created in the West. It's literally an objective fact. You're welcome to try and twist reality to make yourself feel smarter, but it's not reality. So...

      @@thelastmanonearth2631 When you say "West" you are using a construct, the one you are talking about. If you want to know the facts, search for it, don use words like "West" which is not supported in nothing actually factual. "western music" is your own construct my friend.

    Someone called this "math rock". What is that?

    • @Vopodop
      @Vopodop 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Think progressive alternative, or something along those lines.

    • @seanmooney4113
      @seanmooney4113 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Fantastic question. As far as I can figure out, it's called math rock because of the overall complex rhythm and how it changes its timing. Like it's working to some sort of mathematical precision.
      Basically, it's a distinct style of prog rock. And its fucking awesome.

      math rock is a genre that i just cant get over. from what i know, it comes from post-hardcore, prog rock, indie and minimal. i believe it originated around the 1980s in Japan. It's got a more western derivative known as "midwest emo" which i also really enjoy. it's characteristics are complex time signatures, alternate tunings and a shit ton of tapping.
