Regarding the snakes, that one in your video seems to be poisonous as it have a square pattern on it’s back, which resembles either the Riđovka (Vipera Berus) or Poskok (Vipera Ammodytes), most likely the first one as they are more common in that part of country. In the last 20 years there were 3 deaths connected to snake bites in Croatia (in 2006., 2007. and 2013.) but in general, fatal outcomes are considered to be VERY unlikely if medical treatment is carried out within reasonable time. In case of emergency, please call 112. This is the number for all emergency services in Croatia, including the Mountain Rescue Service which can pick you up from top of the mountain if needed.

You inspired me to get out for a evening hiking training session, gotta take advantage of the long days we’re getting now here in Alberta! :) I was also dealing with a mild injury but it’s improving the set backs are annoying but don’t let it get you down !
Also you are using a drone... any resistance or problems with flying a drone on the trail... I want to bring mine in the Fall and have flown it a lot in Germany and Spain when other folks are not around. I have not researched the regulations in Croatia yet
There are some sections of trail that have no drone signs. So I just flew it outside of those areas and where it seemed like I wouldn’t be disrupting anyone. Generally the parks seems to be no drone zones
Well done... general rule is if a snake has a neck it is a viper... no neck= harmless. I assume you do not speak Croatian... is speaking English a problem for you in the small villages?
