    The guy at the Dark Brotherhood sells levelled magic arrows. Keep him alive and he'll keep selling you more powerful arrows as you level up.

    Unfortunately, I did not choose Armorer as a Major Skill for my high and mighty Altmer. He chooses not to soil his hands with manual labor.

    Stealth archer is pretty bad without leaning hard into poisons and alchemy.

      You can stack this with a weakness to poision 100% the same way you would weakness to magic. As well, poisions can get to some insanely high damange numbers and durations.

      That's because magic is actually good in Oblivion, unlike in Skyrim, where it's trash. So if you want to attack at range, you're just going to cast a spell.

    I've been replaying oblivion recently without armorer and it's been nice to have a place to burn extra gold, plus it helps to RP being a regular at Rohssans, having her repair my kit and training a few levels here and there with her/what little I can on my own and just now at level 29-30 i hit journeyman armorer and it played out like this extended little lore arc over the course of the run which was sick
    I was absolutely ate up with gold from all the random stuff I did this time though so ymmv

    I followed a very useful tip from UESP on my "master save". You can spellcraft a Fortify Skill (Armorer) 100 for 1 second on self, you cast this and immedietly use a repair hammer and you will use it the same way a Master in Armorer would use it, aka it will never break and since this is a Fortify Skill and not a flat bonus, you still get experience by repairing gear so eventually you will naturally get the skill to 100. The only caveat to this is getting restoration high enough to be able to cast this custom spell.

    • @exantiuse497
      @exantiuse497 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The reason you want armorer up is not to save repair hammers but to reach level 50 (needed to repair magic items) and 75 (allows you to repair to 125% instead of 100). Fortifying armorer doesn't give those perks, it needs to be leveled for real

    • @UberMedic7
      @UberMedic7 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@exantiuse497 Im aware of that, hence i didnt mention the perks. This is just good way to level up armorer without having to pay any gold for new repair hammers

    I would have fortified my agility skill as it would have increased the damage for not only the bow but your sneak and security skills which sneak being part of your build obviously would be an added bonus.
    When choosing main skills to control leveling I always pick the one I use the least or the hardest to level from each attribute unless I plan to use it, such as Hand to hand, Block, Restoration, Security, Acrobatics, Mysticism and Mercantile.
    When picking the attributes to increase by +5 at the class selection I always go luck and whatever benefits me so that the first 5 levels I can choose anything then after level 5 I always choose luck to increase both loot and crits.

    This is only tangetially related, but ive been trying a mod that gives powerful enchanted items to humanoid NPCs. So now the bandits actually have gear as good as yours if not better, provided your high level enough. Makes it possible to be one shot by bandit archers that have arrows with weakness and elemental damage on them. Lol

    Not being able to repair enxhanted gear until armorer 50 is infuriating. It makes me reluctant to use my best gear for the roughest fights, which feels like some kind of game design antipattern.

  • @andreapareti324
    @andreapareti324 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Wow! I didn't know that the damage stat in the Inventory screen took into account Skill and Attribute increases as well! I thought it just took condition of the weapon into account, and then the formula would shake out the real damage by using all the other factors to calculate the result; definitely further emphasizes how weak non-Magic builds are, but I think it's then even less of an excuse that the devs didn't catch this and rebalance accordingly!

    this video could've been titled more accurately, since you didn't really make a full argument for why armorer must be a major skill, but it was fun to see an update for this guy. tangentially, your comment about having 94% spell effectiveness was misguided since you were only wearing greaves at the time. not that it matters, i'm sure you would've figured it out anyway

    • @theoldknight85

      Haha I saw that, I was hoping no one else did. Still, my spell was 22 damage with my actual 88%!
      Also, not being able to repair my gear is a tragic. I can't imagine why you would want to go through the headache of needing to level armorer so much.
