    Picked up my first real wave board last weekend. A 2014 Fanatic quad 76. Once there is some wind in the Netherlands I will be trying these out. Can't wait to get out there again. And try all these fun moves out.

      Jeroen, what would you consider the windy season in Bali? I usually spend time on Java and never ever have I had a windy day there. I'm trying to plan some time in Bali but would like to go windsurfing there.

  • @peterfodor7403

    Thank you Ben so much for this video and for all the other videos (they are AWESOME!) - I recently just wanted to try this move and need some advise: Is it possible to land gu screws consistently in onshore lake conditions with small choppy waves? As this is, what I usually sail in. Cheers!

    • @WindsurfingTV
      @WindsurfingTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes for sure... but it will be a little harder. As you will have to learn how to do the thing i was showing you in the TAKA video... basically Gybe and stay Clew First Swith stance and then pop into it from there.
      If you look at the Wymaroo (Diony does 2 in this video) you can progress to that.
      The hardest thing is to get the 'POP' in that position... feel FREE to send your attempts

    • @peterfodor7403
      @peterfodor7403 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WindsurfingTV Thank you so much for your answer and for the tips. I can do now the gybe to switch stance clew first + upwind 360 ending but without the pop (I have to nail this first with the pop and then the gu screw is the next thing). Be ready for some crash videos! :D

    cant agree more with A N....but please 1 question Ben, i never understood how it works, wave riders go down wind to surf the wave on side shore conditions, ....how do you go back to where you started with a wave fin ? i always wondered...(i am a lake windsurfer, and quite bad to go up wind obviously)

    • @WindsurfingTV
      @WindsurfingTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well Wave boards go upwind surprising well… but it is a different technique. Using the rail not so much the fin. But multi fin boards have a fair bit of lift

  • @peterhofstede2
    @peterhofstede2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice one Ben! Diony doesn't seem to sheet in when he lands the Wymaroo, which goes against the frontloop training tips. Is actually trying to land the Wymaroo counter productive for loop training?

    • @WindsurfingTV
      @WindsurfingTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Watch it again… 😁 …he sheets in a lot… just not on take off!

    • @peterhofstede2
      @peterhofstede2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WindsurfingTV maybe it's the angle, but when his back hits the water his left arm seems pretty stretched out to me.. I guess he does sheet in because the gap between the sail and the board closes, but he is not pulling the boom to his chest. I noticed because in my own attempts i often get my feet hooked under the sail when the board gets airborne and I sheet in. Diony obviously doesn't have that problem : )

    • @WindsurfingTV
      @WindsurfingTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@peterhofstede2 Yep.. well that why alot of people never get their forwards sorted. Forwards are about shifting weight... but just to go back to Diony if you look o landing the board and the sail is closed. But difficult to see what he is doing as he's in the water and behind the sail.
      But i see what you saying.. but keep in mind the wymaroo is done by shifting weight and using momentum to your advantage. just like planing forward should be done... not just pulling in like most people think.

    @Ben: I assume one attempts the GU screw off at the throwing part of the wave as in a wave 360, correct?

    • @WindsurfingTV
      @WindsurfingTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can go for it earlier as you don’t need the kick from the wave to project you in front of the wave 👍🏻

    Can it be done in on-shore? Or only in side-shore wind?

    • @manuwindsurfing
      @manuwindsurfing 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Onshore too. You can basically do it in the wave or outside of the waves. When doing it on the wave, the wave does the pop for you so you can work on your sail only pretty much. Just keep your sail way open until you hit the wave.

  • @thegibbonisreal
    @thegibbonisreal 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1
