Do you guys have any sure-fire methods for beating creative block and staying motivated and inspired for your creative projects? It's always interesting to know what other methods are out there , and who knows, maybe something will help out a fellow creative who is struggling with lack of inspiration or motivation right now.
I really needed to here this, for the past few weeks I really have hit a road block in my creativity. Thanks for letting me that I have nothing to be ashamed of.
@@christianjohnson7223 There's definitely nothing to be ashamed of! We all have creative block many times in our lives. It's hard because as creatives, our creativity is really important to us. It's part of us. But it will come back to you, so try not to stress too much about it or put pressure on yourself. It will come back, and hopefully some of these tips might help you get there.
Thank you, also I've started to worked in a bar almost full time mon - sat, and I have a lot of deadlines delayed. Sometimes is the few time that i got for do the videos, design the animation, render, etc. And I'm losing customers.
that sounds really hard! it's very difficult maintaining a full time job and completing animation projects on the side. I used to spend every spare moment I had when I wasn't at my job or sleeping to work on my animation projects and freelacne animation work, so I know how tough it can be.
Motivation is difficult. With mental fatigue, sometimes it's better stop working and let your brain recharge. Working on burn-out isn't very time effective. I wind up going down social media rabbit holes because my mind is weak and looking for rest. Discouragement is also a tough one. For me personally, I am having a hell of a time getting myself even an modest amount of views/followers on any platform, and I think what I have isn't total garbage so... I have no idea what to make of that. I wonder how many other unknowns are struggling with that? I never see them, I only see the ones that are successful. It is difficult to get failing results and keep going forward. For me, I like to go back and revisit the things that inspired me when I was a little kid. It's a good reminder of what I'm trying to do and keeps me going.
It is really difficult. Obviously, what works to motivate some people , will not work for others. Some people are motivated by money, some by prestige or fame, some just by the joy of creating something. I agree that working while burnt out is not a good idea, which is why I also made sure to say that you need to know when you need a rest. Working while burnt out, especially when it's on your passion project, can drain the passion from it and make it unbearable, and sometimes you'll just end up hating it because it's become such a chore. So it's definitely a balance. Discouragement plays a huige part in draining motivation. Especially when you've poured your heart and soul into something and it seems like nobody really cares. I've seen a lot of really amazing artists/creatives with very few followers on social platforms. I think a lot of it is knowing how the algorithm works, utilizing hashtags and popular search terms and SEO, jumping on fads or bandwagons, as well as just who you know, knowing how to network and getting people to like you and share your stuff. Also, I've noticed people who have worked at prestigious places seem to get a following more easily., But it's also just knowing what groups to share your stuff on, and sharing often. It takes a lot of time and dedication building a following on social media. I haven't had much luck with it either. You're totally right about revisiting stuff that inspired you as a kid. I do that too and it's a great tip. It brings you back to that childhood wonder and the feeling of anything being possible
Thank you, that's so lovely of you to say! Sometimes my productivity dips and it's really hard to get back into wanting to do stuff, and it feels like a serious chore or just too overwhelming to do the stuff I know I should, so these tips help me get back into the groove of it.
I must admit it has been a struggle! Lately I find it so hard to work on my personal projects. I try to at least do a little bit at a time even if it is just planning and gathering resources.
Yeah, all those little bits help if its something long term. A quick sketch is one thing, and not too difficult to just do, but if it's a long term thing it gets hard to keep that momentum, when you still have so much work in front of you ! But yeah its good to even just do those little bits, each bit takes you a step closer to your goal
Wow😮 I really loved this video. I think it's one of my favourites so far! It's really great advice and superhelpful. I love the way you formatted the tips and stuff. It was super easy to follow and understand. I'm sure if I follow your tips my writing will improve ten fold and maybe so will my artiness😂😂😂 I can't wait for your next video.
Glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful ❤ anything you're working on will improve if you just keep at it and hopefully your motivation will get a boost from this !
