Sorry for not watching all the way through, but within 3 minutes you showed me that the Hades was not what I was looking for. Thanks for your vids, keep them coming.
I love the Tern. There has been one or two in my bag for at least 10 years. I tried switching to the Hades on a search for a more consistently clean release, but it was far more inconsistent for me.
I agree, I've tried multiple star terns and multiple esp hades and hades seems more inconsistent from disc to disc in terms of stability. Terns in the same plastic have all had similar flight for me.
@@nstanz I agree with what you said, but what I was referring to is a constant release. Terns consistently leave my hand how I intend it more often than the Hades does if that makes sense. With the Hades I tend to get more early releases or more grip locks than the Tern. Having discs that consistently release the same is big.
@@BrianWalstad It's definitely you and not the disc though. Not even the best players in the world have a consistent enough grip to be able to blame the disc and not the player. Your grip isn't consistent enough from throw to throw to accurately come to this conclusion, just like amateurs judging flight numbers on discs is pointless.
@@derpderpin1568 I disagree. It's probably different per person, but for me some discs just always have a consistent release. Examples for me are the Star Dark Rebel (old FD mold) and GStar Thunderbird. I can't remember a time they didn't release correctly for me.
@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf The star plastic tern is a little too flippy for me. Takes a bit of touch, or just the right wind. Haven't tried any others yet. Same with my mamba, the star plastic flips right over, but I can actually use the champion mamba when i need to go left. With the halo tern on a flat release, I get a nice S flight with a pushing fade, 300+. Depending on conditions, of course, lol.
@@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf the Halo doesn't really turn. Goes pretty straight before having a stronger fade than the Star Terns. It will hold a turn but it always fades back.
The wave gets similar flight to a tern. Fission can vary from run to run. At high weight it is typically very straight but I found some to be rather flippy. Might also be based on color and dome.
From my experience, the Wave is easier to get cleaner releases due to its smaller rim. For the flight, the Fission Wave for me fits right between the ESP Hades and G Star Tern that were used in the video. Gets more turn than the Hades, less than the Tern. But after about 6 months of throwing it, it flies like the G Star Tern.
Some versions of the Tern show -2 turn (I mentioned this with the Champion plastic). But on the G-Star and Star (plus Innova’s website) it does state -3 turn.

Don’t need to apologize! As long as the video helped, it did its job!
Detailed breakdown and comparison! Love it
Thank you!!
I love the Proto Hades’ I throw. More comfortable than the production run. I feel like all my Terns have been a little more stable than my Hades.
Awesome disc battle! I love both these discs. I have a 6x claw hades and it's probably the most overstable hades out of any plastic I've tried
“Lil Z” Big Z run is pretty stable to os as well. Something like -1/2
I’ll have to pick one up and give it a toss!
For me it’s about plastic quality, I like the grip to slip ratio of the esp more so than the star.
More urethane then the old esp?

I found a 140 class Pro Tern that feels amazing somehow, lol. Feels like Star plastic and it bombs, it has some LS fade that keeps it controllable
I can’t even imagine throwing a Tern that light 😆. Glad it works out tho!
i have the uli/mcbeth ledgestone hades and that thing just flips up to straight. so i bag a esp, bigz, and uli/mcbeth one
My Halo Tern is quite torque resistant, and I only throw forehand.
Great to hear that Halo is torque resistant! How much more than some of the other plastics? If you have thrown the Tern in other plastics that is.

...well now I am brainwashed for sure, hearing "Tern Tern Tern" on almost every throw also with the Hades ;)
Take a shot every time I say the word Tern 😅
I bag 3 Terns: max weight Halo, 174g domey Star, and 168g flat Star. They all fly different. I use the flat one for rollers and tailwinds.
How does the Halo fly vs the others?
@@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf the Halo doesn't really turn. Goes pretty straight before having a stronger fade than the Star Terns. It will hold a turn but it always fades back.
@@michaelmccourt4992 thanks for the info! Definitely sounds like a similar stability to the CryZtal Hades.
Champion Glow Terns are usually very flat and a bit more understable.
Thank you for the great info! 👍
Hades was my roller of choice till Arron Martin team discraft 1985 told me more stable could give me more distance, now I’m using broken in zues
Respect for being able to roll a Zeus! 🫡 I barely have the arm to get it to hold any kind of turn 😅
What about a wave (fission plastic)?
The wave gets similar flight to a tern. Fission can vary from run to run. At high weight it is typically very straight but I found some to be rather flippy. Might also be based on color and dome.
MVP discs are the most inconsistent on the market. Some Waves are as beefy as a Zone OS, some are as flippy as a Rollo. All their discs are that way.
From my experience, the Wave is easier to get cleaner releases due to its smaller rim. @@derpderpin1568I agree. I have a fission that won't turn, just dead straight for 300ft. I put it back on the shelf
Halo Tern solves all this conjecture
for me hades is better than tern. I get my max distance with hades and it is just an awesome disc and for me hand feel is better in hades
I mean they don't have the same numbers. -3 on hades and -2 on tern
Some versions of the Tern show -2 turn (I mentioned this with the Champion plastic). But on the G-Star and Star (plus Innova’s website) it does state -3 turn.
Companies are always tweaking the flight numbers on discs, so wouldn’t be surprised if older runs all say -2 and newer runs say -3.
