  • So I would like to preface this video by stating that I’m not some well versed mechanic but rather just some dude in college trying to do it myself. That being said, I may have labeled some parts/components of the engine incorrectly. The point of the video is to show the location of the knock sensor for this model because I was unable to find any other video.
Changing out the 2 knock sensors DID fix my P0330 code.
The Vehicle that I am working on is a 98 Camry V6, however, I believe the model type is the Camry (XV20), which years range from 96-01. Don't quote me on this, you'll just have to check.
There are plenty of videos that can help you remove the manifold and all the steps leading up to it. Once that is removed, you should be able to tell what to do next from my video.

    • Ratchet 1aau.to/tgr/1AX...

Why did you replace them what were the symptoms so i know if mine are bad because my car its not going in to over drive past 45 miles and ive seen videos where they replace that to fix the issue

Hey nice vid man. I have a '01 Toyota Camry V6 with 137k miles and I got a p0330 knock sensor code. Took it to the shop and got the sensors, wire harness, gaskets, and coolant pipe replaced with OEM Toyota parts (the 2 sensors and wire harness). Everything was fine on the way back home until the check engine light came back on giving me the same exact p0330 code. Any idea why this issue persists?
I don't know much about cars apart from basics. Did a bit of digging around and heard somebody had the same issue at 216k miles.
"the engine you may have carbon build up on the intake valves which can cause the fuel to spatter when it hits the face of the valves an cause detonation and make the knock sensors off"
My car has 137k miles, do you think this might be the reason, dirty valves? Any other reasons why I keep getting the p0330 code? Thanks.

Did your car run weird or anything? My car runs good when cool but as it warms up it looses power and blows black smoke out the back, the only code is the knock senskr

If I remember correctly there wasn't as much power while the issues were going on and I felt like I got it back after the fix. But I don't recall having any black smoke issues.

What part did you go with? I'm trying to save money, but have heard negative reviews about some of the cheaper knock sensors. Just curious what yours cost and what brand they are. Thanks
