We camp in a CRV and my hardfast rule is that before bedtime I put everything that animals could eat or would be messed up by rain in the front seat at night. Anything of value that could be stolen as well. I don’t ever use plastic tote boxes. They’re generally a pain. I use sturdy canvas supermarket type bags to store most everything. So much easier and convenient to pop them into small spaces in the vehicle. Second most important rule is: The weather man/woman tells fibs. Don’t trust the forecast and assume that it’s going to rain and mess up your stuff. Use a cheap tarp or even a dollar store plastic tablecloth if necessary and hold the edges down with rocks
All great ideas, thanks for sharing your lessons learned! Also, you are right about trusting the weather. I actually packed up a day early because of this and was very glad I did.
Sorry that happened, at least you have a large vehicle to sleep in, I do not so I would be devastated and that would be the end of the trip for me 😢 Thank you for the warning
Even a bad day camping is better than a good day working! I just wanted to share a warning to help others and to keep my channel original and believable. Life isn’t always rainbows and lollipops.
Yes, I would have been wet. I try to show all sides in my videos so my viewers get a realistic picture and are not let down. It’s definitely part of camping. I learned long ago how they can open a cooler!
This is the kind of person who has no business with a TH-cam channel. Not a single thing you said had anything to do with the downsides to camping in an Element. It rained. Stuff gets wet when it rains. It doesn't matter what kind of rig you're in. Also, it's shameful that you put a bunch of food in a fabric tent and then acted surprised that animals got to it. Like you're out camping and you don't know you need an animal proof container if you're going to do that... If you'd have left it in your car, they wouldn't have gotten to it. ... man, have a seat.
Yikes, I’m sorry you were so disappointed! I’m curious if you watched the whole video to increase your level of discomfort or shut it off early? Also, is there any chance of getting you to subscribe so I can get an honest, no holds barred opinion? Thanks for sharing your perspective, happy camping!

They are probably telling their buddies how good the snacks were down at campsite 28!
Idk, but they sure went through a lot of food. Cleaned up their mess pretty good actually!
Best wishes
Thanks buddy!
They are having a party 🥳
They are probably having a heart attack as much as they ate!

Idk that mighta been a squatch!
Yeah, that’s what I said, probably two of them as much as was eaten and how it just disappeared! But, everyone laughed at me.
sorry, how is this "downside to element camping"? its just camping....looks like the element saved your trip...you would have been wet in the tent....
