I love this video. We were also raised on meat, potato, vegetable but are now having to cut back on carbs due to diabetes. I also plan meals by the month and find it so much easier than having to figure out each day what to have. We have been stocking out back room with nonperishables for about a year now. We do however have to buy our meat but am considering trying to buy it in bulk. I also do some freezer meal planning and that is a time saver for me using the crockpot more. I also do some dehydrating and canning but not nearly enough. Would love to try some of your favorite recipes and get more ideas from you in general. Thank so much for doing videos that help people.
New subscriber here! I love seeing your freezer and pantry tour. Also, I liked how you did your meal planning on your big calendar and your side notes. I have 3 grown boys and 2 adult girls. Now we’re have 5 grandchildren. WE watch 2 of them on a regular basis. They have favorite foods that we try to also keep stocked up on.
Welcome! And thank you for being here. I try and do what makes sense for us. And good for you for looking after grandchildren regularly. I'm sure they appreciate having their favorite foods at grandma and grandpas.
I just found your channel, and when I saw that ginormous freezer alongside it's little brother I had to subscribe!!! I'm doing a no-spend-uary challenge too. We're a small family of three, but my freezers are stuffed full, so need to eat through most of that. Love seeing all the canned goods, and hearing your hubs helped you with the shelves, so wonderful!! I look forward to seeing some of the meals you've planned. Best of luck getting ready for the 60# of beef!
🤣 love it! Thank you! I definitely feel blessed with all the food we have put away. But it'll all be gone before the end of the year. You'll see more of the meals I've prepared on my Instagram stories....my boys are just too noisy to try and film every day. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing! I’ve really been into watching videos on preserving foods and stuff. We are planning on moving back to NS and starting a little homestead this is making me so excited!
You're welcome! Oh that's so exciting!! Watch all the TH-cam videos!! There's so much great info here. Roots and Refuge farm is great. Seed and Sparrow Homestead here on TH-cam is super sweet too.
Maybe you can try to make that marshmallow fluff! I dont know how it would do in making it rice crispy squares though. I’m thinking of giving it a try myself.
Hi, I found you as I searched for participants in the three rivers challenge. I'm a boy's mom of three along with three grandsons. I hope you hit your 1000 mark soon. Don't forget to use the #threeriverschallenge hashtag to help people find you.
It's a challenge to only cook from your pantry with no buying groceries. But you can make up whatever rules you choose. Check out Jessica from three rivers homestead here on TH-cam and on Instagram. She is the one who started the challenge.

I ended up using the marshmallows and rice krispies for rice krispie squares. Using my own recipe lol But marshmallow fluff sounds good!!

Is this a challenge where you only use what you have? It sounds like a fun challenge.
