    Hi would love the iced tea concentrate recipe please

    • @theconfidenthomesteader
      @theconfidenthomesteader 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's just 4 cups water, boiled, add 20 tea bags, let steep, remove tea bags, add 4 cups white sugar. Stir till dissolved. To can, I used this recipe pin.it/3hP99Tg and added the lemon juice to each jar before canning. Tastes great even after canned.

    Thank you for this video. I love your straightforward approach. Thumbs up for the bonus bean canning tutorial! My mother tells me stories about how her mother would join the uncles who were dairy farmers. Every year they would process two hogs. Mom's task was to can the meat to distribute to the extended family.

    Looks great. I have been wanting to organize my pantry so this was super helpful. I wanted to go to glass as it looks better and lasts longer so definitely gonna get some Mason jars and get started. I will get. basket for kids snacks and bread. I want to get rid of the plastic cereal containers for the kids. Have you found a size that works for cereal?1/2 gallon or maybe full gallon? Do you like the Mason jar style more than spaghetti container style? I saw jars like the spaghetti container style but they were about $5 a jar.

    Have you ever tried canning pineapple zucchini? You still have to buy pineapple juice, but we have stopped buying any canned pineapple. My kids like it just as much as pineapple! I can it in cubes (like pineapple tidbits) and shredded. I use the shredded through the winter in zucchini bread. It is a great way to use up oversized zucchini’s!

    Hi from northern saskatchewan! We run a beef cattle operation and I love canning. I grew up in the Okanagan, and I'm super jealous that you can get pears, Peaches etc where you are. What a blessing! Where do you find the pumonas pectin for sale in Canada? I'd love to find it, as I make our jams sugar free and they never set

    • @theconfidenthomesteader
      @theconfidenthomesteader ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey!! I grew up in Manitoba...not too far from Saskatchewan. Yeah we are far enough south where we are that we can grow both. The southernmost tip of ontario is the same latitude as northern California.... I buy the pomonas pectin on Amazon. It's expensive but you use very little per batch, so it lasts a long time.

    I love this video. We were also raised on meat, potato, vegetable but are now having to cut back on carbs due to diabetes. I also plan meals by the month and find it so much easier than having to figure out each day what to have. We have been stocking out back room with nonperishables for about a year now. We do however have to buy our meat but am considering trying to buy it in bulk. I also do some freezer meal planning and that is a time saver for me using the crockpot more. I also do some dehydrating and canning but not nearly enough. Would love to try some of your favorite recipes and get more ideas from you in general. Thank so much for doing videos that help people.

      @@brittanyragon6033 so Canada's growing zones would mostly be colder than the US...but here we still have plenty of time to grow things like tomatoes and watermelon.
