Yes kenneth here again ! Good to here details often missing from other bio's of Gauguin , namely about his ear cutting and the time spent with Van gogh , the fact that they remained in touch by letter 7 finally that he suffered severe periods of poverty and hunger .

Good job with the wording for a young audience. A good example is why his wife needed him to leave. Plus omitting his questionable activities on Tahiti.
Still, there's a quite a bit of strangeness.
I am interested in HOW you wrote a age-appropriate bio on Caravaggio. Lol!! I will need to watch the one next.

Gauguin did not die in Papeete, Tahiti, he lived in Iva Oha in the Marchesas from Sept 1901 to his death in May 1903

@@mikeityike thanx for the reply! I know this may not be the place, but re: one of your other vids, Caravaggio has been deeply suspected of gruesome acts, himself, to aid in his artistic 'endeavors'.

Joan Miro and Rene Magritte are worthy subjects. And not so mentally challenged. It is important students do not equate artistic genius with suffering, depression etc. It leads to unnecessary trouble and destructive behavior in search of inspiration etc.

@@cherylcampbell9369 right you are! I think his paintings of the Tahitian young women should be "Exhibit A" for the prosecution

@@cherylcampbell9369 I try to expose my students to as many unsung s-heros of the art world as I can that have given us so many amazing works. One of my personal favorites is Lee Bontecou. I love her work.

Kenneth again . Mention of his health & sexual disease causing a dwindling of his well being ,the taking on of an offered wife or ( to become a pseudo muse of sorts because he spoke little tahiti language as did the girl knowing little english ) of aged 13 , demonstrates a clear connection with the primitive in him he wished to explore . But this as a ' noble savage ' approach which was noted to identify with anyway before he got there from his time spent peru ! We owe a lot to him for putting art amongst the people & less of the institutionalised version's promotion of the products of artists as seen in galleries & now beyond the reach of ordinarily placed admirers , meagerly financially endowed , & so of the general public fraternity .

Hi Kenneth, yes I would have loved to include a lot more information about Gauguin but these videos are for my jr. and sr. high art class students that have at best about 7 minutes of attention span. Those darned cell-phones really diminish their ability to focus on anything for more than a few seconds. Plus, I have to walk a very fine line about explicit sexuality issues and given the time constraints it seemed prudent to exclude some themes. Thanks for the feed-back, I hope you enjoy some of the other videos too.

Is this the speaker you could find to narrate this video?

Haha, sorry Kim, I'm stuck with the voice I have, combined with my dyslexia it makes it hard for me to read. I make these videos for my high school art class because I can't find suitable videos that are 1. Narrated 2. Short enough for their very short attention span 3. Not full of inappropriate material. I've never been compared to a crow before or is that a raven,,,I never could tell the difference. Take care, be well and maybe we'll see you again!
