Hi Mike I have a 350 Saturno in Sydney have had EXACTLY the same issue as you have experienced. Occasionally bike will misfire then stops. Will then restart and then performs fine for a while. I have checked fuel delivery, have substiuted the elctronic ignition box with a known good one from my 500 Saturno. Have cleaned the carburetor in ultrasonic cleaner and replaced all jets and o rings. Still cant get to the bottom of it.
Mine only did it the once. The problem went away after replacing the fuel filter so I didn't give it much further thought. The obvious things to check are wiring/ loose plugs/fuses. Fuel tank breather/fuel tap blockage and ignition coil/plugs. I had a bad coil on my Guzzi once that took months to find.

Mike, what is the brand name of your replacement in-line fuel filter? I cannot find a mesh filter like it.
