Listen to the backstage production videos when she guides other girls on how to sing their parts. She not only delivers the lines perfectly, she can also imitate each girl's voice very close. It makes it seem like she can perfectly sing the whole song alone, but she chooses to be in a group and let each other girl to shine in their parts.

Soyeon’s voice as distinct as Bom’s. There’s no mistaking it as long as you’ve heard it before. And I bet the nasally tone and huskiness + vibrato that Soyeon and Bom share prodded Dara’s heart. But you can also hear Soyeon’s ability to mimic others’ voices in it as she plays on the other 2ne1’s original singing voices too. Such a dynamic vocalist.

The live audience votes for their favorite singer and then the scores are somehow calculated in the rounds they win and compared. Its all based on votes from the live audience. They win by continuing to get the most votes and the King/Queen battles all the upcoming new singers. the longest running king has won 9 consecutive rounds, and by that point most people already know who the singer is. The way she dished out hard truths to the audience and the contestant showed her frankness, her passion and respect for this industry. I then saw another segment where she was coaching someone on their performance & she was really good. I’m definitely a fan now.

Oh mah gawd I’m so impressed she’s a leader mainly rapping but dude I’m melting her vocals too it’s so beautiful. Soyeon is beautiful and talented. I didn’t know much about her until I saw the segment where she was as a judge on a talent show. The way she dished out hard truths to the audience and the contestant showed her frankness, her passion and respect for this industry. I then saw another segment where she was coaching someone on their performance & she was really good. I’m definitely a fan now.
