I have a Chavez 229 full Ti tanto and have been seriously considering getting the new blue label in a drop point. This video may just be what convinces me
Yeah, the price. I was just looking at a LNIB full ti Kickstop tanto for $299. A full ti street drop point for $199. Another one for $225. Unless you just have to have brand new, I don't see the value. But That's just my humble opinion.😄
These higher-end Chinese made knives aren't selling like they used to 4yrs ago. I remember when you couldn't find a Chavez knife and if you did it was over table and now they sell for 200 all day on the secondary. Spending 200 on a budget version doesn't make sense to me considering if you don't like it you'll be lucky to get a $100 back from it.
I've been trying to decide between one of these or a Kizer Militaw fatcarbon. I work as a stainless fabricator and need something new for general use on the job. What would you get if you were going to daily carry, use and abuse?
Don’t know much about the maker but saw all I needed to see with pricing on their automatic box cutters💸👀I will never purchase an overseas knife regardless of who’s name is (sold out) on it. Im not a budget knife guy but if ever posed with the scenario, it would be a USA made Kershaw
I’m ok with the price…but, steel liners was the wrong choice. Lots of unnecessary weight when the idea is to make your knife customizable. They have some great options for scales like brass and copper. But adding those is going to add some very substantial weight to an already heavy knife. They should have went with Ti liners and clip and keep the steel hardware. Lots of costs on the manufacturing end were cut on this model. Thinner blade, no hollow grinds flat grinds only, and liners with bolt on scales. They could have went with titanium liners and clip to bring some weight down. Disappointing.
Ive always appreciated the design language of Chavez knives. Ive almost pulled the trigger on the scapegoat and the sangre a few times
Recently picked up the Chaves Slip Joint Radiation edition and I love it! Having a Slip joint tanto is awesome!
👊
Got one for Christmas and love it. I always dug Chavez but the asking price is just out of what I’m comfortable spending.
Good job loud and proud, Stick to what you like and to what you know Don't keep up at the Joneses, make the Joneses keep up with you❤
I really enjoy Chavez and it's nice to see a budget line I'll definitely snag some
Pretty excited for the protech auto
That should.be cool

Am for sure considering the G10 version. Just not sure if I want the tanto or drop point
Both are great!
I think you should swap out the scales on those knives, the black one would look great with those micartha scales🤙🏼
👌
$180 for Elmax blade is very affordable, especially, when you consider it is made by Reate. Just my opinion.
That is a good point. I'm just mad I don't get a Ti clip
I prefer pb washers over bearings also.

With mass produced knives like this I totally agree

@chriswebb3018 So true

I would go Chaves. Much more robust

Can I have one 🙏 it’s gotta work one time right 😂
I do need to do a giveaway tho

Have a 228 American made model and wish Chaves still made them or used American Co to make his production models.

Just being a Chinese knife turns me off for some reason. I think they look pretty cool, and I'm a big Elmax fan, though.
Did you write this message on your Chinese made smartphone?
@shanetate8754 I have a different standard on pocket knives
@shanetate8754 also if their were American made smartphones I most likely would choose one.
That clip though
