Not just a dance, it’s the lesser know English martial art of Broom Fu. It was last used in anger at the battle of Agincourt and was outlawed after because only the English could perform it due to our superior rhythm and sense if showmanship. Seriously though fantastic sir 👍🏴👏🏴👍🏴👏

didn't know I was missing this in my life! lol I LOVED it.
In my youth I was a professional dancer in London. Some of the male dancers I worked with had been in films like Fiddler on the Roof and Song of Norway. These dancers were great and some of them were 'specialist' dancers (doing acrobatic flips and donkey-kicks) but they would have been very hard-pressed to compete with this guy. This is an extremely exhausting and technically difficult thing to do. Hats off to him.

He's still going strong. He's squire of Anonymous Morris, and you can see him dancing in some of their videos (though doing a morris dance rather than a broom dance)

💥 That Should Be An… Olympic Event💥
We do something very similar here in the mountains of North Carolina at our barn dances. We gather multiple couples onto the dance floor but there is always one extra male who dances with the broom. As he’s dancing with the broom everyone else is dancing with their partner in a big circle around him. Inevitably at some point he will drop the broom either by accident or on purpose. The on purpose part happens when his favorite girl is near where he’s dancing. When the broom hits the floor everyone has to change partners and he will snatch up the one he’s after and dance her away. Think of it as speed dating but with a twist. 😂 This whole thing plays into the superstition that when a broom falls and hits the floor there’s going to be a wedding. And also why at some country weddings the couple will jump over the broom to seal the deal.
What a wonderful tradition. I'm pleased to tell you that this young man married another dancer and they actually did a double broom dance at their wedding!

It’s actually traditional. We used to see this sort of thing when the Morris dancers were around, usually at Spring fairs or fetes in the country.
