    I found a 2012 storm with only 4700 miles in 10 years. One owner prior to myself and they had put the Triumph Turing gel seat quick detach backrest and Triumph saddlebags. I found a good screen on Amazon and with some tinkering, great protection an No buffeting. I added British Customs Hogslayers, removed the cat, removed under seat air channel and dropped a K&N in the air box. Then had it Dyno tuned. 😄😄😄 all day long. Average 40 mpg mixed riding styles. THIS IS ONE FANTASTIC BIKE! (All this is on my channel also), OH and i took off the crappy little name plate and ordered the LT tank badges.

    I wanted one of these bikes and there was a dealership near me, they kept giving me excuse after excuse about test riding it. They went out of business, I never got to ride one, but found a great deal on a Road King, H-D every since!

    • @MotorcycleAuthority
      @MotorcycleAuthority  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My friend had a similar experience with the local dealer. They also would not come down on the price. Given the thunderbird was new old stock it should have a deep discount. We ended up driving 8 hours to New Orleans. Then the tried to add a bunch of fees to the price. We finally ended up buying out of Houston 5 hours away. Lol, He almost bought a Harley too. I can’t argue that’s the road king is nice!

    • @MotorcycleAuthority
      @MotorcycleAuthority  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really depends on the comparison. For me it’s medium sized compared the larger Harley’s and the Rune. Even the MotoGuzzi California 1400 seems bigger. By engine size it’s not small but the overall feel seems medium to me. I think that is a compliment to triumph having a 1700 seem like that. So, medium it’s probably not by engine size. lol, thanks for the input.

    • @MotorcycleAuthority
      @MotorcycleAuthority  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnfreeman4292 I sat on several Thunderbird Storms. They don’t all have the same seat. Some allow more legroom from the rear of the seat to the controls. It has a lot to do with how far back the back of the seat goes. The seat also makes a difference on the Harley as well. It all comes down to distance between controls and back of seat. Some dealers still have new old stock that you can sit on.

    • @9parasqn656
      @9parasqn656 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MotorcycleAuthority I just feel the 1700 was made simply to be the 'biggest' twin at the time like there was some kudos in it. It is way over-heavy and modern machines can get similar power and torque with a much smaller engine. For me, 1300 / 1400 would be a perfect balance between weight and power - even more so if it were a triple !
