Holy shit , u guys were so amazing at the bowl!!! Could not BELIEVE you did "three".. it was my 15 year old's 1st concert , and -- no joke-- "Flood" and "Here come the abc's" were both my kids' first favorite albums .. and remain so to this day. Thank u SO MUCH for giving me a way to get my now-teenagers to still hang out with me.. 💟❣️💟
I just popped on "Don't lets start" a few days ago. First time in years i thought of these guys and now this. Unreal.
Tmbg was one of my first concerts and totally my favorite band in high school. Love those guys so much.
My first adult concert was They Might Be Giants in Lincoln, MA. I was 9 but it was 1993, I was happily raised on all their non-kid music. TMBG + Tim Heidecker =

I don’t question anyone disliking Zappa and/or his music, neither are for everyone, but I have no idea what Flansburgh found so “toxic” about his interview with Terry Gross. He was entirely cordial, even with her more presumptuous questions and judgmental premises (and I say that as a fan of what she does too). What was so objectionable?
We sometimes get confused when we get a bit older. Maybe he’s thinking of a different interview.

I checked out the Terry Gross interview with Zappa, he was a bit arrogant, but it wasn't nearly as rough as the Gene Simmons interview.

I listened to the Terry Gross interview w/ Zappa and didn't find it appalling as They said it would be.
Total let down. The Gene Simmons interview makes up for it though.

I listened to the Terry Gross interview with Frank Zappa because of this episode. He does the interview to promote his book and one of her questions was if he cheats on his wife with groupies. I’m surprised Frank even finished the interview. Anyways, love the show. Ciao
Terry sounded like she was interviewing a criminal. No wonder Frank was a little short with her. Good to know FZ would have been fine with the COVID confinement era.

Dude- my first live show was the Monkeys show too, Dubuque Iowa. Herman's Hermits and Gary Puckett opened. I got mono. Those guys were like the pop-music version of Johnny Appleseed, cultivating the ears of gen x'ers for future classic rock radio stations.
