I cant believe it after all these years I have found it that one song that kept evading me it was a huge reason why I replayed HZD after putting over 100 hours in...and Im glad so many people enjoy it as well...those vocals man when your going up the snowy mountain....I also had to just stop and listen in disbelief and when Ted kills the alphas man...wow cant wait for the sequel in 2022
I just spent the last hour going through the OST 5 seconds at a time to find this track for those vocals.
the part with the distorted vocals which plays and trails off after watching ted's murder of the alphas was just... so perfectly timed.
Kinda hoping Ted's somehow still alive so we can kill him in Forbidden West but he probably is dead. I'm hoping Aloy visits his bunker and finds his body to confirm his death, and I think that might actually be a plot point since it never revealed how HADES was separated from GAIA but Ted managed to override the Alpha's clearance so that might've had played into it somehow.
As usual, I’m late, but when I saw Ted kill the Alphas in that hologram recording, I don’t think I’ve ever felt such a wrenching feeling in my heart and gut, nor such a need to stab a spear into someone. He really deserves it. How many people died because he wanted to “protect innocents” and wiped out all of humanity’s history, INCLUDING the disease research that prevented millions of deaths and would have in the future, had it been preserved?
@@inquisitorpig5760 the ost of aloy's journey also contains part of the soundtrack of this scene.
Although the murder of the alphas is terrible, but personally it is the destroyed data that hurts me the most. All the knowledge of humanity, all the knowledge, the cultures, erased... millennia of history wiped out.

@Lodai974 Exactly. I literally cried during that scene. It hit me so hard knowing everything that er knew, our entire recorded history would be forgotten completely. It hurt me on a level I have barely felt since. Masterful storytelling if you ask me.
Might be wrong but it also plays after sylens saves aloy from the arena, and when the cinematic ends, after he leaves on his horse

Ah the good part! sounds more intense in the game though, it a bit subtle in this.
Same here. I was enjoying the soundtrack whilst playing then this track started (for the first time). I was wandering through a forest, minding my own business and then I heard the voices at 3:30 and it floored me. I stopped what I was doing and just stood there.... listening. Utterly captivating choice to make for the soundtrack and I've been hammering the whole soundtrack ever since. :)
I know I wish that part was longer.
Yeah, I feel like there's a bit different version, like the one that plays when you see Ted Faro kill the alphas. Wish I could find it :(

i remember climbing up a mountain, the cold in my face... me clinging to keep a semblence of warmth. Visibility so low I couldn't see far ahead. the glint of a wild machines' eyes glow ahead of me. I prepare for a fight. It is a long slow arduous battle but finally I was victorious. I resumed my climb to the top and, once reaching there the snowstorm cleared, the world rewarding me with a glorious open vista.

The Mountain That Fell. God, I choked up when I realized what I was looking at. It was beautiful but so tragic at the same time.
When I heard this music while playing HZD, I stopped moving Aloy in her sprint and was spellbound for a few minutes just listening to it while taking in the beauty of the surrounding world artwork. It is beautiful soundtrack music to listen to in what is one of the best games I've played in my thirty odd years of gaming.
One of my favorite pieces that plays during exploration. I was rather disappointed that prior to the mission that sets this music off late in the game, there weren't many memorable pieces that played during overworld exploration. I love that this one plays after you have learned very earthshattering information (after climbing Faro's tower I believe?), it enhances the sense that Aloy has just discovered something that changes how she sees the world.
CampingforCool41 is this the same one when you find out Ted killed all the alphas? I mean I just finished this game today (I’m really late) and this version just seems like kind of a quiet version while the music in that seemed much more powerful and you could feel the tension and wanted to punch Ted in the face with a block of concrete
oh well i finished the game just a few weeks ago myself :’)
the most memorable game experience i’ve had so far...
I CANT WAIT UNTIL FEB when the sequel is released, fingers crossed for no delays. :D

Kept shooting arrows at Ted's forgotten soul while the holo played in new game+
Saving the little sister for the first time, the death of John Marston, and now the death of Alphas in forgotten bunker are the most memorable experiences in gaming for me. This fantastic piece of music somehow made that sad moment look epic.
John had sad for weeks, this was sad too
