a perfect example of SHEER GRACE and PURE BEAUTY portrayed through Song and Dance... this is an absolutely lovely clip.. thanks so much for posting!!!! malama pono!
My wife and I married in Maui. We had this song included on our wedding video. It is a beautiful song and Ke'a'li'i Reichel is among my favorite musicians of any style of music and among my favorite of all vocalists. I hope to see him perform live soon. When my wife would nurse (breastfeed) our first child, a daughter, to sleep at night, my wife would play the album this song is recorded on. It was such a gentle, beautiful atmosphere for such a touching, loving way to raise our daughter.
More and more, I come to appreciate the Hawaiian culture's respect for the many shapes and sizes of women's bodies. I used to be morbidly obese, but now slightly overweight. I love that there is more than one standard of beauty.
She might be Nona Beamer's daughter-in-law? Keola's wife, Moanalani? I had the opportunity to see Keola and Monalani in Oregon, and she's a beautiful dancer. As for Keali`i - gorgeous voice, gorgeous man - with a beautiful spirit too.
@bqndc Every state has its own distinct and outstanding culture. We just happen to like ours better, but we are wrong to disparage others. That is anti-aloha spirit.
