Thank you for the video, my Onn TV is exactly the same as Westinghouse, all the components are the same and even the part number is the same. My TV doesn't blink when turning it on but before it went black, I also heard the buzzing noise. Just ordered the new board from Ebay today. I hope this fixes the problem!

this is great, I was just given an Onn 70" Roku TV. Same issue. unfortunately, only used China sourced boards available now, however I have examined my power board and it seems as if I have a swollen capacitor on that backlight circuit, so I am going to attempt to repair my power board first. I have replaced capacitors on several monitors and an Element tv with good results, so for $9 I am willing to give it a try.

@@85Grave well, no success. I replaced the bad capacitor, and it did test bad, but still no joy. I don't have access to a led tester to verify the backlight strips are ok, but based on some watched videos, its fault is more like a board so I went ahead and ordered a board from Ebay, $74 plus tax, I'm crossing my fingers I will have success

It's been a while and yes it was the big board. You turn the TV on and have a black screen you use a flashlight and shine it on that screen and you can see the menu. I REPLACED THE BOARD AND TV works. Like yours, mine also was the big board. A year ago the cost of the board was $99.00
Definitely appreciate this 🙏🏽 it worked for me and was only 5 mins to change cost 42 dollars online. They said all serial numbers had to match but new one I got didn't just the model of it. 70 inch JVC roku tv I have thanks again.

If you could help please, I have now replaced all 3 boards that came with a Shop Jimmy kit, still turns on briefly then black, what would the voltage be at the connectors that go to the LEDs, I want to make sure the new supply board is good first, then I guess it would be the LEDs??
Ordered mine just now. Started buzzing a couple days ago. Then screen was flickering. My warranty expires this month. lol. They are sending me a digital gift card for the full purchase price of the TV. They said to keep the old one. So shit why not fix this one and move it to the game room, and jump up a size this black friday. Awesome video dude.
Thanks! I found a TV in the back of a Lamppost pizza asked then if I could take it. Had the same issue. Ordered the part and it worked! I did get a little shocked by the old circuit board when I picked it up after it was sitting around a while. Other than that success. Thank you thank you!

I honestly don't know a darn thing about tvs lol, but I've had my Westinghouse tv for about 4 years. I also recently just bought a humidifier, although it was never pointed towards the tv, my children alwaysssss play with it lmao smh.. anyway, the nozel was pointed towards the tv for like not even 2 mins, anyway I put on a show for my daughter & noticed she came out of the room & started whining, wanting me to pick her so I was like "what the heck happened to your show?" And when I walked back into the room the screen was black! So I was like wth. Anyway, the screen is black, but you can still hear the audio. And when the light reflects onto the tv, and you're standing at the right angle, you'll be able to see the Home Screen. I'm really wondering if I should try this out lol. Looks pretty simple. And really saves me from buying another 65 inch tv.
Go for it!!! If you can find the part now I guess the place I linked on here stopped carrying it...it's really simple!

Hey, bro I have I 65 TCL that just went black I have sound and I can see the image if I put a flashlight to the screen, I think is the leds, I also see the same screen flash when I turn it on.

I’m having the exact same problem. We had a power surge. I don’t have a power button on my 70” onn tv. Crushed. I’ve done the unplugging. Sad. Only a year old. I need to check if I have warranty with Walmart. I can’t find my receipt.
You might be able to contact Wal Mart and have them look it up....the part that I used in this video was an "ONN" part so if you have to fix it it shouldnt be too much trouble
My 70in onn ruku started doing this last week.. I've tried all the resets and got it to come bCk on once and now it's not working again.. Hopefully thus work for me..

Yes it is! I've seen a lot of comments that the part is no longer available which sucks. I'm thinking about taking the new board out and testing it against the old board to figure out what went bad and try to help everyone just fix it on the component level
i've got a 50" Element from walmart...does the same thing...but...holding a flashlight up to it while blackscreen i can see vertical lines with black splotching...has almost the exact same circuit board in the middle as yours does...didn't see any other accessible boards on the back even though i know there has to be some somewhere...probably sandwiched in between...found scorched dust so i know it got hot...lady i got it from keeps her home hot and stuffy...hoping that part will be the fix as well though i suspect LCD damage from the heat...yikes

What about Onn 75 in power supply?
If I remember correctly from when I was looking for this, it's exactly the same or the part is actually ONN. To me the best way to tell is a visual comparison of the components and connectors. Yes I just checked the link I had posted for this video...it's out of stock at the place I got mine but it is an ONN power supply that I replaced mine with in this video and it works.
Also how could I tell if this is the problem or if it's the LEDs?
Most likely ur lights won't come on at all since it leds came on then went out is the tell for me good luck this gentleman hit it on the head
I totally agree most TVs are coming from another country, and they are shitty, they are throwaway TVs. Unfortunately, I do not have your knowledge of deciphering what part is not working. Although most of what I’ve been seeing on TH-cam is it is a back light problem that causes no picture but voice. So, I’ll probably end up just buying a new, cheap, throwaway TV. But I did enjoy your video.

What is it called when I order it
My Onn 75 flashes and sometimes I see the Onn logo. If keep trying to get it to come on and it will come on with a great picture..I can turn it off and as quickly I turn it off and the turn it on again,I will have a picture. If I leave it off for more than a few minutes it does the same thing and just flashes. When I get lucky and it comes on I have a great picture so I think it is the power supply. What do you think? Thank for any help.
Keep in mind I am not a TV repair person I just figure out my own stuff but what I would do is when the next time the TV seemingly won't turn on, you need to look real close at the screen maybe even hold a flashlight up to it and see if you can see the picture just really dark in other words see if the TV is actually on and working but the screen is not illuminated. That will tell you if it's an LCD problem... But at the same time this does sound like a power supply problem either way. It could also be something very simple like a bad outlet so try plugging it into a different outlet the reason of that is because inside those outlets there are prongs that the plug goes into and if those get loose you can get intermittent connections so try the little stuff first power outlets power cords if it's detachable etc. If those are fine and you can find a power supply cheap enough to make it worth the risk of changing it and that possibly not fixing it, I would say the chances of a new power supply fixing it are very high.
@@85Grave I did all the steps that are on TH-cam that is put out there and none work. I can sometimes hit the remote power button and tp my surprise the Tv is on and has a great picture.

I have a tcl brand tv. The screen went super dark but still is visable (barely) I replaced the power supply but no luck. Any idea what else could be causing it?
That sounds like the LCDs! These TVs are back lit by LCDs so if you can see the screen but it's dark that tells me that the lights themselves arent working Ive seen videos about that also and it shouldnt be too hard to fix. I should have stipulated on the video that I'm not a TV reoairman at all I just happened to figure this one fix out

I have a 70” Westinghouse Roku tv and my Tv Works on the cable input. But it goes to black screen on all the other input’s Including the built in apps like Netflix Any chance anyone knows what the problem could be It had a 1 yeah warranty and 2 weeks after warranty expired the tv started screwing up.

Damn! Strange how these things go bad weeks after the factory warranty runs out same with my TV in this video.... as for your problem have you tried the unplugging for a couple of minutes and then plugging it back in and then also the tv reset with the remote that's in this video?

What tv do you have? If it's a smart TV you probably just have to download those apps to it the way we do for our phones.

@@abrahamanham if the LCD lights are going out the way to tell is to hold a flashlight up to the screen to see if you can still see the TV picture display. If you can see it and hear audio, then the LCDs are definitely out the question then becomes why are they out. It's most likely going to be this power supply!

Dude I’m trying to find out what’s wrong with my tv still. I was just playing games with friends, then all of a sudden my tv screen stops and slowly turns white. Now it looks like a bar code. Do you know what could be the problem and how I could be able to fix it so I don’t through it out.
