My first car back in 1980 was a 58 Fairlane 500 2 door post, with the 352 Interceptor and a automatic transmission. It had the factory 4 barrel carb, and duel exhaust.it had plenty of power. One day in front of 2 of my brothers,I power braked and turned the car around in the middle of the road.My 1 brother asked in amazement, how did you do that?.I answered Ford Big Block.
My '58 Fairlane 500 Sedan Interceptor Special had the same engine and transmission setup but sadly those are long gone out of the car along with the Interceptor Special decals and holders that had said emblems on them replaced by normal Ford parts. It was restored in the 70's but someone botched it so when I restore it (which I am starting it now) it'll get modern upgrades including a 428 Police Interceptor backed by a heavy duty 4 speed. Has the same rear end as this Ranchero, big 9 inch though just a standard one side spin and not a posi. Glad that I found this video as it gives me insight to what the engine was suppose to look like. Thank you for sharing this!
Beautiful !
That is one beautiful Ranchero I like the 3 speed with overdrive

Beautiful car
I love this year..I also love the fact that you don't hear it coming from a mile away..
Car is clean
My pop had one that was wine colored with 6 banger and auto. Gutless wonder.
No cigarette lighter?
