Great performance. In his concertos, Mozart always has a special way to introduce the solo instrument after the orchestra stares the main theme(s). The way the traverso flute comes in Mozart's Flute Concerto in D major is superpeb: flying triunphant, flamboyant and stately over the orchestra.
Then the end. [It was shortly after 11 o’clock in the evening, May 18, 1911.] Mahler lay with dazed eyes; one finger was conducting on the quilt. There was a smile on his lips and he said: ‘Mozart!’”
@@abrahamlincoln9758 yes, something like "Wolferl”. it might be also a dialect variation... Although their music is very different yet Mahler knew that Mozart was/is the greatest composer...he could have said Bach or Beethoven etc.
OMG I love original instruments/practice. The soundscape is so perfect, so intimate. Mozart sounds of his time, and yet so clearly out of his time. Modern forces and practice don't make it so obvious how great he really is.
@@cliffwheeler7357 Hobo is the dutch word for oboe. Marcel Ponceele is a dutch speaking oboe player, so .... hij speelt hobo (he plays the oboe). Is that clear? Beantwoorden

This is so good! But the cadenza.... very musical... but it sounded not so spontaneous.... otherwise this was a wonderful performance! Thanks for posting.

Its a delight to listen to this music! I love the performance of this concerto by this orchestra. Its great to see they used the periods instruments.
Mozart at his finest.

Bravo !!!!! Voila le Mozart que j'aime.....On est à une "académie"....
Gracja, wdzięk i elegancja... ze szczyptą 'wytwornej figlarności' 😉
Takiego Mozarta 🙄 hmmm?! uwielbiam 🥰
So young and so talented...not always "past Is better"!!!
Mozart is infinitely better on period instruments!
Absolutely. The modern piano gives Mozarts' work a "children's tune" quality which the music doesn't deserve.
When the performer and the instrument replica are right, yes it is. This is one of those cases.

I have also heard he may have said "Mozartl," the diminuative inflection.

Così fate risvegliare Amadé dalla gioia e dalla meraviglia 😍
Magnificent! Love the hobo performance of Marcel Ponseele!
hobo? Surely you mean oboe.
Hobo?? 😳

@@GerardvanR Its clear but he should really learn the right word because there is a big difference in English between hobo and oboe.
Yes, I know. A hobo is a tramp 😄
Braviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Bravo!
had to download the score for this one! New repertoire Goal!!!!
the irony of period instruments......the ancient music.....and then there is an iPad on the pianoforte. lol
right??? its so weird. There's a lot of people that do this and everytime I see it my brain doesn't want to accept it for some reason lol

Fortepiano after Anton Walter (not Walther!)
Mozart have used a Fortepiano by Walter, built in 1782. Now in the House of his birth in Salzburg.
wonderful performance. unfortunately the recording engineers missed the boat with the orchestra (the forte-piano sounds great though)
❤
1784
Orchestra: Flute, 2 Oboes, 2 Fagottes, 2 Horns, 2 Violines, Viola and Bass

So few strings and still plenty of sound.....
Alles ganz schön gespielt aber Cembalo finde ich etwas zu leise gegenüber der Orchester.
Perhaps it sounds better in a large parlor rather than a hall.
Das ist aber kein Cembalo, sondern ein Klavier (wie sie um Mozarts Zeit waren).
관현악과 조화가 안되네요
옛날 피아노로 할려면
다른 악기도 고악기로 해야져
Bravo!
