oh oh! steal that steel pinion! i can't get over how nice and floaty that jump is for your rigs. soo smoooove! oh nooooo! foiled by the pinion again. arrrgh! nice run anyway!
The Fire Team was opened today, but also midwest (east IA), was pretty deep snow and pretty cold for its maiden run. Can’t wait for some of this snow to melt.
@ 2:03 did you do anything with the throttle? I'm assuming you pushed forward a tad to brake? Nice driving! I have one in the mail, really have nowhere to drive such a beast but I did it anyhow. Even in Mich.
Yes I did. If it’s over rotating backwards smack the brake some to get the inertia from the wheels to stop rotating and the car should begin to level out
The motor mount screws were loose. There’s like 4 or 5 that hold it in place. I ended up loctiting them and tightening them down and replacing the pinion and it has been fine since 🤝
What is your take on owning this vehicle for about a year now...a lot of TH-camrs say they sold it or stopped playing with it for a number of reasons....one being the heavy weight of the DBXL..2..mostly the maintenance cost of keeping this vehicle exciting with upgrades. Which is almost twice as much as upgrading the XRT OR KRATON. But mostly they are saying too many things on this 1/5 scale go wrong after some months...and the expense of repair..they are swaying me to go with the new ARMA OUTCAST OR XMAX. Just want your honest opinion because do like the truck in general....🤔
Yeah they aren’t that fun. They need another 400-800$ to make them fun and durable. When shit breaks it is WILDLY expensive even for replacement parts. I sold my DBXLE like 6 months ago and I don’t regret it one bit. Traxxas 8S bashers are a pain in the ass to work on btw. And while yes many clowns on TH-cam will argue that plastic flexes while metal chassis bend. Plastic will flex and then it will snap in half. The new Arrma 8S bashers having the 7075 aluminum chassis are good to go. And the Arrma 8S vehicles are wildly easy to work on and maintain compared to Traxxas or the DBXLE
@@midwestern_rc Typical Arrma fan boy... 1. You don't purchase a DBXL-E for bashing! (That's what Traxxas is for) You buy it because it's the baddest lookin buggy money can buy and because they're an absolute blast with a simple pinion change. 2. Arrma's are a nightmare to work on 3. Parts aren't cheap 4. Plastic flexes and METAL BENDS! (All metal)
With the stock radio right? If yes. When they’re both on the radio and the car. Play with the AVC dial. Turn full left and full right. For some reason that usually connects mine

Man i just bought some tools and grubs to leave in the car for moments like these 🤣
Yeah for sure I’m gonna buy a few more 16T pinions just in case. Also putting a max 5 on this soon can’t wait to see the results 😬😬

Same. Looks like within the week we should be seeing snow melting conditions. I’m just hoping we get like one dry warm ish day
the Fireteam can't wait either! look at. just LOOK AT IT! see? 😅
I can’t keep my CVD pin from coming out. I just ordered an upgrade from DDM. Hopefully this fixed the problem

So what ended up happening to the pinion ?? Did it wear out or did something else happen ??

Awesome to hear, just bought a dbxle and love the content you put out with yours. Keep it up! 🤙

@@_savageasfck_ Arrmas are a dream to work on. I’ve owned many many RCs and I prefer Arrma (and team corally) for good reasons.
@@midwestern_rcAgree to disagree... Like Talbot says tho.. Whatever puts the biggest smile on your face is the right choice

I can't get my Hand controller to connect to the car...can you help me and tell me what to do? It's got me boggled. No steering and no throttle.
