Today when my Husband was released from the hospital he brought home a box of Elastomeric Pump supplies and flushes so I needed to get familiarized with this procedure. There was instructions that they gave us at the hospital but there was an instruction sheet in the box with all of the supplies. It was nice to be able to find some videos on this. I'm subscribing and saving these videos until I get familiar with this procedure.
Definitely different than how I was trained . I also have to flush with a herpin lock after my saline .

Where I am receiving my training, sterile gloves are not required as a no-touch technique is used after the port is sterilized.
I am curious as to why you do not aspirate. Where I am taking my schooling, it is mandatory. Is this a policy specific to my authority?
