I picked up the 8p for me, my wife and two small children. Know what that little closet nook is perfect for? A kids potty area in the middle of the night! A small rug under a portable toilet with a hanging lamp and it was perfect.
I agree with the tightness especially at the corners. I also have an issue with the tightness of the fly as the final corner is attached to the pole with the clip. I have used mine twice now. It is difficult to put up solo, easier with 2, much easier with 4 or 5. I stayed dry in a rain overnight, only wet area was just inside the door where it dripped into the tent when I opened the door. I had a small rug there for shoes anyway, so it didn't bother me and the windows with the shades zipped up stayed dry. Overall, I am going to enjoy this tent. Just wish it was easier to pitch alone. Happy Camping. And thanks for your review.
Jennifer Ligsay bad idea. It’s gonna smell really bad. We thought of this too but there’s no ventilation in the closet area so you’re trapped with the smell. Get a 7 foot tall changing tent and put it just outside the tent 🤙🏼 cheap and works great!
$600 here in australia mate ,lasted 1 downpour the fly needs to be lower down as wind forces rain up under the fly then it pours in throungh the mozzie nets on top
Thanks, this video was really helpful and I decided to take the plunge. Went for the 6-person variant which is still plenty of space. Looking forward to trying it out next week!
I'm sorry if this sounds silly. But does the tent come with the Rain fly? Or do I buy it separately. New to camping with my kids :) I appreciate any advice ! Thanks
The tent base measures 13ft by 6ft. I'd suggest getting a slightly larger tarp than those measurements so you'll have an easier time folding it underneath. I, however, did not have a tarp of that size lying around, so I simply used two tarps side by side underneath and that seamed to work okay.
Got this tent today and set it up. the door pool is 2.5 in too long. no matter what we did it would not go into the "hitch", also the closet poles bend significantly, there is no way to place the pole into the bottom stake. thank goodness my Husband can fabricate new poles. This may be the reason for the sale pricing. it was 349 and we paid 140. it does look like a good sturdy tent though for our needs.
You have to undo the extra zipper around the door, thread it thru, unzipped, the hitch it,then you can zip the pole into its pouch. Hard to explain. Gave me a time when I got it too

I haven't had it in any huge storms or anything. Still would recommend a tarp underneath and to keep items from pushing against the sidewalls when it rains
Seeks common for folks to recommend a Sealer. My REI brand rents were flawless in rain. I never used a dealer. However, Coleman is cheap and a big dark room model (kinda similar) we got is roomy for my family. I’ll look at dealer options since the PNW gets rain often enough.
I hate being hard on postings but ... (I'm a seasoned camper at 53yrs old) you bought a tent with creature comforts i.e. the door. The closet. And you complained about those things and the fact the closet is too far from the door... and it has no screen porch. Why did you buy this tent? Buy a tent with the things that you desire in a tent. Try a different one...
If you stay in a tent with sustained 40 and 50 mile an hour winds and maybe Gusts even a little higher. then you'll understand what the guylines, tie downs are there for. Without them your tent is going to get crushed and collapsed and torn apart. I made sure they were all tied down really good with heavy stakes and I actually put a couple of extra lines up and weighted the tent down and I managed to stay upright and 50 + mile per hour winds.just barely though.
Stick the Velcro on the door my man so the wind does not blow it in. Oh...you wish the closet was closer to the door? Geez...take your shoes to the closet!

Great idea!
Used this tent in severe rain for three days. Super heavy winds. Fully staked it only broke one line. Quick fix and it held.
Awesome! I've only used it in light weather. I might have a seam slightly coming apart on a corner, but all in all, really like this tent!

Agreed! Great tent. A lot for one person to put up.
Just ordered the same tent. We plan on using the closet for a bathroom with a camping toilet.

Love this tent. Camping at MB state park with it, poured rain in the middle of night and not one drop got in.
William Murray Awesome!! Glad to hear it!
This tent it the best i went camping 5 years with it before it gave in .

Just got one. $67.67 at target. It's on sale... Can't wait to try it my self.
Ray Aguas that’s a fantastic deal!
How can anyone complain about a tent that costs $150? It is amazing that you can get one so cheaply that lasts more than 2 months.
I've been pretty impressed with it!
Can you camp without the rainfly...or is it required for the guylines?
very good review thank you!

Not a silly question! Yes, the rainfly is included!
@@mattrittgers Thank you so much :)
what size tarp did you need for under this tent? Thank you for taking the time to do a review, very helpful.

thanks for the info.
I like the other 8 person one with light and fan, but ONLY because of the color. The blue and teal just bugs me.. i own this one none the less
can this be put up by one person?
I've done it by myself most times. It is tricky when windy, but doable!
There are no replacement poles for the fast-pitch tents so be extremely careful.
That's good to know! I have a 10+ year old Coleman 4 man tent that I've had problems finding some replacement poles for as well!
Wow, that's a dealbreaker!
The poles are pre attached to the hubs.
That's correct. The top poles, but not the side walls.
Thanks so much for this video. :)

Sounds like you may have gotten one withe some manufacturing defects, or perhaps you've accidentally switched two poles?

what kind of bed you have looks goog?
Edmond Jr Dontigny it’s a raised queen air mattress
is this made by polyester or nylon?
I'm not certain. Sorry!
What should be the size of the tart? Plz someone answer

Good in Rain?

Room divider can be removed?
Yes. Very easily.
At 150 bucks Looks great value for money...
hi! Love your review but you need to slow your camera because it gave me motion sickness trying to watch it!
"Car camping" ??? Who came up with that?! Camping is camping. Period!
It means you can’t use it for backpacking because it’s too heavy… so it’s called car camping.

Try a different one...
Thanks for watching!
I’m watching a review on this tent, so I’m thankful for the pros, and especially the cons, of it. I don’t see any complaints except for your comment.
My only gripe is the ropes/ tiedowns tripping kids
Not to mention tripping me! :D Most tents with rainflys will have this problem I suppose...
