Defense Attorney is an ass hat he has no other line of questioning besides trying to aggravate this officer when he was doing his job to help mark some evidence. I find this Attorney to be irritating and arrogant. I even noticed the judge becoming bothered by him and that is a BIG mistake. Did he want them to wait till the sun comes up so the scene would really be disturbed with the impending rain etc. they mentioned it had not rained yet so sounds like it was expected. I think Murdaugh went and grabbed another shot gun in the event it may have been used recently and possibly it would have a form of gun powder residue as an excuse if it was found on his hands, I don't know if that's even a possibility. Everyone deserves a fair trial but my gut says he is guilty as sin and a lousy actor. That was definitely his voice on that video and as it turned out Paul's phone was dead which is why he could not delete the video. For someone who has been an Attorney all these years he is pretty stupid in a lot of ways.

A person has to put it out. And the first responder repeatedly told Harpootlian what his job was and yet, the lawyer kept saying, “ you don’t know what your job is, do you?” I guess when the defense doesn’t really have anything to say to a witness, he just walks around acting indignant and rude. “ Harpo” won zero points on this witness.

First defense for most defense attorneys is to attack the processes and procedures of cops, cops' behavior, and evidence tampering when they have nothing else for defense. Most people trust their local cops and trust they follow protocol. Defense attys will throw every spaghetti noodle against the wall, whether true or false, hoping that just one noodle will stick so the jury comes back with a not guilty verdict. For defense attys, their sole purpose is to detract, divide, and push blame away from their client no matter what, again, to get that not guilty verdict. They dont care who they hurt, discredit unjustly, or destroy as long as they win the case. These defense attorneys are doing exactly what most do-go on the attack to save their client and their own reputations.

      You mean direct examination
When it’s the states witness it’s called a direct exam. Defense does cross.
But yes you’re right- prosecutor IS anticipating everything Defense will try to cross examine on.

    • @caroljohanson2807
      @caroljohanson2807 ปีที่แล้ว

@@cateellington4081 defense does cross exam states witnesses
You’re correct though states witnesses are brought out after opening argument the state ,or district attorney as some say, presents its witness
Prosecutors for the state ask their questions
      That’s presenting their evidence
Defense may raise objections during witness testimony
However after the state prosecutor asks their questions
The witness may be subjected to cross examination by the attorneys for the accused, often called “ the defense”
They are allowed to ask questions which may weaken the credibility of witness testimony, challenge the memory or eye witness accounts , or ask about exculpatory evidence ( meaning dies this witness know anything to suggest the accused is not guilty)
That’s exculpatory evidence and benefits the accused. So the defense can try to use cross to soften the states case
After the state presents all of their witnesses and the defense has cross examined whom they choose
The defense presents their case with their witnesses
Sometimes the same witnesses but with a different part of the relevant information to tell defense than what they told state
That’s the truth the whole truth part
Anyway same process now in reverse
Defense attorney presents their case calling their witnesses and state prosecutors may cross examine the witnesses to try to weaken the defense or strengthen states position.
Then after all testimony has been heard closing arguments by state then closing arguments by defense
Defense always has the last word.
Opening and closing arguments are a summary and not to be considered as evidence.
Evidence only comes from sworn statements or sworn exhibits
      Then judge gives jury instructions
Then jury deliberated the facts entered into evidence
      The credibility of witnesses
The judges ruled as what they must find guilty and not guilty on depending on the entire trial and their judgement of the accused
Has the prosecution made a case that this defendant is guilty
      Beyond a reasonable doubt
I’m not insinuating you did not know how it works just a general education for people new to criminal trials
But I think the first poster meant the prosecution was anticipating anything the defense might ask and countering it already in direct testimony
So it looks like “ the defense has nothing “
      Always a chess game

What's stands out for me is the first interview with Alex. He was quick to point out the weird likeable friend of his dead son Paul. He even had that on conversation saved on his cell. If that wasn't enough to steer the investigator to another unknown person or persons that were texting his dead son with threats due to a Boating accident which his dead son faced charges for. He showed no anger ,shock or grief when interviewed right after his wife and sons death. It is as a small cry and then he tried to deflect any accusations towards him. Then I saw the women who testifed he asked her to say the hours he was there visiting his mother. With the caveat a better job at the school where she was also employed. If that information doesn't point all 10 fingers at him along with his history of stealing millions from clients and friends could be a motive to kill his family to deflect from his crimes. Sounds like a ridiculous way to solve financial troubles via murder. He's gotten away for years with his shady dealings. Should we add murder also.

but other than that i dont think they know or understand they got killed and if its a farm they probably shot guns around the dogs and are used to it. so by now that shots that killed them have already been forgotten by the dogs. maybe they are barking at the strangers like all dogs do. and i can hear the dogs making that sad cry noise they do so they are super upset and yeah could actually be the trauma from the horible events or it can be that the strangers are super close and actually messing around the bodies and moving the bodies that sets off the dogs

I think the dogs are trying to tell them something. I can't imagine what they saw.

You all have the rights to your own opinions. I however disagree and I’m not sure why a few of you think that. I’ve worked with many breeds throughout the years and these dogs are known for that. Especially when strangers are around. They are very smart animals and they do sense certain things. That doesn’t mean they’re trying to tell them something other than “ Get out “ though

Why didn't the dogs bark like that if a stranger was out there to murder them because it was Alex before he went to his mother's n come back 🤷🏼🙏

They are reacting to the strangers’ presence all around them.

That’s right, they are use to gunfire, they are hunting dogs, it’s ridiculous the people commenting on feeling sry for the dogs not the victims

The dogs sounds like Bubba's bark! I bet Bubba and Cash barked their heads off when the shots ran out and Maggie running for her life to get away, and Paul already shot and dead. So glad this trial over and they got justice. Life back to back. He'll never get out. He can appeal all he wants, but that video tape with his voice on it and the lies he told "I was not there, I was taking a nap, and then I went to my mama's house." Paul, may have thought I better always video myself cause I can't trust him. He's made threats before. And that night, Paul filmed Cash as an excuse. Cause truthfully, I saw no issues with Cash's tail. I think those weapons were in the back of the golf cart. They have always been in his possession. They are now disappeared. But eventually the truth always comes out in the long run!
