Doing well, seriously? He is not even able to comprehend the questions and clearly not fit enough to occupy a public servant seat. Poor English (English is a must b/c our official language is English), poor knowledge, poor analysis. Interviewers are only asking GK questions instead of opinion-based questions, he failed miserably at those. Look at other civil-services interviews, candidates are asked very difficult opinion-based questions. GK can be crammed with a few months preparation. They asked fundamental questions from his MBA degree, he couldnt respond. See when he was asked about flaws of Maslow's Hierarchy and Theories of Leadership. They asked him 1-2 opinion/analytical questions, he could not. Interviewer asked him What is yuor take on Civil-Miltiary relations and instead of answering the nature of civil-military in Pakistan, he starts telling the definitino of Civil Military relations.
The commenters may not have been through this process but all of them are sensible enough to spot the unfit people for civil service. This candidate is, without any doubt, unfit for bureaucracy. Don't insult the intelligence of people merely on the ground that they themselves haven't gone through the process.

The panel is asking him matric level questions and they are compelled to. He hasnt taken any written examination so they dont know what to ask him. The way he answers the questions is like he is sitting in barracks answering his commander. You are coming to civil services so at least try to act like one. The questions are more like general knowledge questions rather than actual questions asked in css interview. For information you can compare interviews to other written pass candidates.

Most ppl going into armed forces come from rural backgrounds with little to no English language skills. He probably was introduced to English for the first time at the Naval Academy. It would have been much better for him to have interviewed in Urdu. Overall he is confident but could have been better rounded and more articulate in speaking.

No there are few seats for military only and some solective persons after a long process of military appear in css they might not be able to give exam as you have given but they have other abilities of leadership , personality

One can thank Zia ul Haq for the horrendous standard of English in Pakistan. His Urdu medium mandate destroyed standards of English education in Pakistan. The spoken standard is dismal as can be witnessed in this interview. It would be better if the CSS selection process conducted interviews in Urdu.
