It is thousands of hours and many years of tormenting practice is what it is, like any other job or trade, the difference is that the product of a musician is one of the most subtle products to be made. Making good music is like spinning webs of beauty and grace in thin air and applying different tools to that air to achieve different objectives and goals spiritually.
Merci pour ce superbe partage, cela m' apaise. Que de talent !!! Cette harpiste est géniale..La façon qu' elle a de 'caresser' son instrument..Ils ne font qu' un..Pur bonheur..
girl you are a virtuoso. amazing talent. thank you so much. it gives me hope that one day i might be able to learn this wonderful most UNDERRATED instrument.. it is the bloodline to the piano and harpsichord. without it they wouldnt have existed.. love it
just beautiful, you used some techniques i haven't learned yet. its so exciting to hear all the different ways you can play a harp. i was rather impressed that you could play and wear a braclet. if i ever forget to take off my earings or my watch it ends up hitting my harp. this must be anther advanced technique i haven't learned yet. thanks for sharing your gift tara
YES!!! My kind of music!! I'm from Ireland, and was trained on the celtic harp and piano..however, I took more to the piano....WONDERFUL!!! Slainte!!!!
@7DarkSayomi Folk harps have levers at the top of the strings that allow you to change their pitch. The harp only has diatonic strings (seven rather than twelve strings per octave, or kind of like only the white keys of a piano). For example, if you want to play a piece with both an F and an F# in it, you have to manually re-tune the string from one to the other by flipping the lever to adjust the pitch of the F string.
Hey, for people who are wondering which tunes these are: I don't know all of them, but here are the ones I do know. I may not be correct on all the spots where the tunes change -- but the ones I've labelled I'm definitely sure on. (They can be found on Anne Postic's album An Delenn Vev (a great album, I enjoy the whole thing).) 1. (0:00) ? 2. (1:15) ? [not sure this is a separate tune] 3. (1:46) Mar fal d'oh hui men demeein 4. (3:00) ? 5. (4:36) The Friendly Visit 6. (5:47) The Kildare Fancy 7. (6:54) ? 8. (8:02) ? If anyone knows the names of any of the other tunes, please share -- I would love to know them.
Superb. No 'gods', no 'heaven', no 'angels' - just a master musician displaying her skills honed over years of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. Wonderful artiste.
Would really like to know this young is...she plays so beautifully and is also beautiful to see...would like to hear more of her playing, and thank you for posting this!
Her name is Nadia Birkenstock, I know this because I got her autograph in a copy of one of her books (Celtic Harp & Song Vol. 1). She has a website, and books and CD's The web site which contains her name preceded by three letters "w" and followed by "dot" "com" -- I hope this helps !
Many many songs, strung artfully together into a medley. Apart from that, I personally couldn't name the songs. Celtic ones :) the harper would know - if only we knew who SHE was....?

After checking other videos on this site, I believe this is Anne Postic. There is another harpist, Lina Bellard, who also is in videos on this site. They do somewhat resemble each other. (Please search for both names and judge for yourself whether my conclusion is correct.)
The irony of having this music interrupted by ads about dying in car crashes, make-up for older women, health rip-offs, is too precious. The beauty of the musicians and the crassness of the ads...Ursula LeGuin has a character come to earth and wants to learn our music, she turns the radio off when she realizes it's all to sell stuff. I guess I need to buy the music to not hear about all the stuff I should buy.
Hello, the girl who play is the very famous Anne Postic, french celtic harpist ! one of my friend !!
Eve
Her soul is on display. We listen to it each night before going to sleep. Have never been so affected and enthralled by a musician.
A brilliant and beautiful young woman making exquisite music, bringing a little Heaven to Earth. Thank you!!
Very beautiful music. So talented - and hard working women, a gifted musician! Thank you!
Simply beautiful feel. The natural flow you have is something that can't be taught.

There is just something beautiful and ethereal in the sound of celtic harp. It creates pure sense of magic and fantasy
Stunning.. I love seeing your expressions when playing, and all the little playful bits you interject.
