Absolutely spot on, i was high in the leaderboards on cod4 years ago, i felt like an online celebrity. Join public lobbys friend requests every two minutes people taking pictures of you in their game, then suddenly the game dies and your a nobody. Everybody is just try to be someone. Being recognised by someone for being good at something online is better better than reality. This video hit home
I was in the M40A3 clan for comp & montage making playing Cod4, MW2, WAW, & MW3. Hitting those quad headshot feeds. Hitting switch feeds. Clutching 1v4 competitive SnD games. I remember the feeling you just described like it was yesterday haha. Friend request box was always full. Every game people wanted to party up. People would doubt I was the real member of the clan until they looked at my friends list. Oh shit those were the days. I can say I just got bored & quit before It just disappeared on me though lol. Gaming started to feel like a chore. To always play in comp games & hit clips for youtube videos.
man, be proud of who you are. This is literally called being a living legend. Just because you not big man anymore, doesn't mean you lost your living legend status. You are still the same great guy who rocked the leaderboards in CoD. So like I said be proud, and care not for people who tell you otherwise.
similar story but on minecraft pvp lol. really feel like your the shit grinded leaderboards none stop only played with the best, couldnt stop going for all the leaderboards on the server. then everyone grew up. still on some of the leaderboards years later but definitely not as cool as it was back then lol

When i was addicted i used to play until i was so hungry my stomach hurted my eyes hurted i felt like puking and i also lied to my frends why i could not hang out
As humorous as this is, this is very accurate in showing gaming addiction. I always have a habit of falling in love with a game and trying to be the best in it that it gets to me and over takes my life. I feel this may come from a sense of insecurity I have of myself in not being the best or recognized by others. However, this is the reason I dropped out of college. After many years later, I put that same energy into coding and now at least I make money. If anyone's suffering from game addiction, please put that energy into a skill that can at least make you money, otherwise, unless you're going pro, you will have to depend on your parents and people, unfortunately, will look down on you. It happened to me anyway. God bless.
Im on whole another stage. As for now, and many passed years, i literally don't have anybody to play with. Like, single person at all, for many years which felt like decades. So there's no rivalry feeling inside myself. However, whenever you play game, if you are not playing with your IRL friends, it's either you want to have some joy at least, or prove something to people in your current game session. It may sound unpleasant to many of those who reading it, but I've found solution and beauty in hacking. That way, you can bypass that urge inside yourself, which drives into donating to the game. On the other hand, you getting full joy, because you can accomplish anything you want there. And lastly, you can learn some coding in the process, while making anticheat bypasses for yourself
omg. i actually just started to get into coding.. and then i started playing ark again and im stuck.. again. How did you trade a high dopamine activity for a low dopamine one? im struggling with this.. maybe the course im taking for coding is too slow and boring. idk. can you give me some kind of small guide about how to learn code and earn money?
@@MarceloCardoso-vs7yf you need to stop doing courses, and start to build something on your own, and only then if you get stuck you look for information, how to solve this one particular problem and you keep going. You will later realize that what you coded is shit, but that realization is good. It means that you learn something, then you can learn about good coding practise and stuff. But most important thing to learn is to how solve problems and you wont learn it by doing courses
Josh I think you are simply a competitive person, which is fine. The real progress is in real life "games". You can easily upgrade any skill you want, if you simply put the same effort in those skills.

The saddest thing is that Wojak's full potential can only be expressed in a video game, where none of the achievements actually matter. Imagine if this power could be tapped in to for real life.
What potential? He's just a plain guy at plain job. Don't think you are some movie main character. There no such thing as wasted potential, it's just life. Grow up already.

Bro this is probably the best video I've watched on the recent days and it's probably the second comment I've made on a TH-cam video ever. Keep it up. You earned a subscriber.
“I have to be better than these guys” It got to a point I wasn’t even having fun I just wanted to be better than my friends . So many months wasted because I’m way too competitive 😭
However there are achievements with ridiculous requirement but otherwise if you finish one game slowly you will enjoy it, nothing beats a good ol' singleplayer game such as Half-Life and other story-driven games.
No, you don't. You just miss the feelings those games gave you. And they gave you those feelings ONLY because you were younger back then. Don't be fooled. Video-games ruin lives.
I'm glad I discovered this video. I was fired from my job that I was at for about 8 years & as a coping mechanism, I would play Call of Duty all day long & would try hard to convince myself that one day I would make it in pro gaming and/or gain loads of followers. I failed to realize that I had a gaming addiction. I started to neglect my health, relationships, finances in order to spend tons of hours gaming, and even went as far as spending the last of my savings on skins and/or DLC content. Now I'm slowly paying the consequences of my actions as I gone cold turkey & woke up to the harsh reality of experiencing getting my cars repossessed, and realizing that I would have to sell my electronics & get a regular day job, most likely two, just to get back on track from this addiction.
That sounds so stupid.. but yeah, like the other guy said, write a book. Turn your mistakes into a lesson for others that might do such stupid things, either based on ignorance or a product of traumatic/painful experiences.
@@MichaelS.Gazzaniga video game addiction is as real & bad as any other addiction could be especially when you start to find the most joy in the memorable moments and/or interactions with other players.
It will not be same in real life.Of course you will get better result if you put dedication. For gaming too some players play game for over 10000 hours and they are not even good players, exp players at best.
@@maylaymaylay8970 eh. Whether people are able to apply the dedication they have towards games, towards real life responsibilities depends on the game they practice playing. And how they correlate the game mechanics to real life. I'm talking about all games. So even board games. As long as they use their brain, by practicing management skills, mathematics, building, creativity, or hand to eye coordination. with awareness of what skills, they're using to be proficient in various tasks, then it can be seen as beneficial to an extent. The "extent" to improving the recognized skill depends on the person's ability to examine themselves and evaluate whether, they are truly gaining something. Or losing precious time. Personal responsibility is the key, to the lock that is stability and happiness. But is personal responsibility, taught or trained by any form of game? I don't think so. Its taught and trained by success, by failure, that has real consequences to the individual's future. It's the brain-dead grind that is consuming time and stagnating the developing brain.
Ive got aspergers, people would call me a game addict too, but im happier then i ever was in life right now (24). Im having so much fun, but am not losing the roots of reality. @@isaac-p6126 yeah, but from some time many many people, even young people started talking that "games will only ruin you", without analyzing gaming from the many perspectives.
@@jerkyy04 Right, i dont think you can blame a Media for your Sloth and Unsuccess. Games can make addictive, but only for people who are already very unstable or emotional damaged.
This is why I pretty much only play story games now, if I play video games at all. Competitive-multiplayer games suck you into the game way too hard with the constant rewards and progressions, and you really have to pay attention to how much time you put into them. Story games have a fixed end, which signals when you’re done with the game. Of course you still need to manage your time properly with story games, but it is much easier to do.
That’s why they’re a magnet for ADHD people. Consistent reward scheduling is the bane of ADHD people’s existence, and multiplayer games have perfected it.
Games are so dangerous... they create a false sense of achievement... which satisfies our desire to improve our lives. So instead of doing things that will improve our lives, we sit and play games and our lives just keep getting worse. It wasn't "violence in games" that we all heard about growing up that was dangerous.... it was just that fake feeling of achieving something that was really what destroyed lives.
Its mostly about the enjoyment from gaming that make people wanna play more than to have irl things done. The path to achieving something in a game is much more entertaining
I've spent countless of hours on gaming in my life, and I don't regret it. I'm convinced that I developed many useful skills that I can apply to real life/professional problem solving. Every new game I picked up is a new system I had to learn and eventually master if I enjoyed the competition. Thanks to all those games in my lifetime, I have little trouble picking up on new skills whether they are real-life skills or the next game ;). The trick is not to get stuck grinding just one game.
You know it’s not that black and white, right? Some people just lack self-control compared than others. It’s that simple. Not everyone struggles with separating beating a game from real life achievements. Calling games “dangerous” is such a hyperbolic statement, especially compared to other things one can become addicted to like gambling, drugs, or porn that can lead to worse consequences that are more difficult to recover from.
Thank you so much for making this video. I am kind of addicted to my computer and even though I am aware of it,I just dont stop playing or randomly browsing for the whole day. I want to pursue IT and programming and have a job in that field, I already have some knowledge about some languages but I might start learning from some courses soon. Small donation, but I want to support you in some way😀
This is actually realistic, you should def expand on this as I think it would be helpful to spread awareness. A suggestion would be making one regarding ranked gamemodes in competitive games as those can turn even the nicest of people into literal children with inflated egos.
I can realate so much to this story. Around 3 years ago I was this Wojak, playing Rainbow Six everyday, the whole weekend, every time I wasn’t working, I was overweight, not moving on in life. Then I sold my Xbox, I quited gaming, I started going to a boxing gym and I enrolled in the university. Today I’m a different person, I lost around 15KG, my self esteem and confidence are in the sky and I’m in the best shape of my life. Edit: Didn’t hope this would get upvotes and attention, thanks. People say gaming and exercise aren’t mutually exclusive and they’re right, but studying a career is time consuming, I also work Monday to Friday to pay my bills, my school and so on, I do play GTA in m ipad sometimes, games that are not so engaging and compromising, but R6 and the like take many hours a week that right now I don’t have, besides I prefer to spend my few spare time studying french, writing, reading or doing something more productive.
let me guess. you also became a millionaire after investing in stocks, you wake up at 5 am everyday, you have a library in your own house and you also have a best selling book titled "how I became a milionaire in a few months".

I remember going through this with Dota2 when I was a teenager. The most heart-wrenching part for me was understanding I had an addiction but feeling so powerless in overcoming it.
I had a former friend of my mine who was my roommate back in college who had quite an addiction to video games. It interfered with his sleep, occasionally he would be getting to work late because of the fact that he would be staying up too late playing video games. On top of that, it interfered with his relationships, I would see him bring a girl over, but she would be watching him play video games most of the time. He never really left the apartment unless he was going to work. He met this one girl in particular that he was really into, but as i described the same cycle occurred. One night I overheard them talking over the phone and from what I could gather, she was addressing his video game addiction and he flipped out over the phone saying "I'm sorry I've got a fucking hobby, I'm sorry I've got a fucking hobby!" and the call ended. Shortly after that I noticed that she wasn't coming over anymore and one day we both happened to catch each other in the living room and he told me that something had happened between girl and him. I listened as any good friend would have and he ended up telling me that he hoped that she would come back and that he had no idea what he did wrong. He placed all of his attention and energy into video games, that the most important things in his life were not receiving that. I definitely fell into the addiction cycle myself too though, but not like i described with my former friend. I had a college buddy of mine back then who lived across the street from me. We would get together smoke weed and play games together. Alone I would also smoke weed and play video games. Luckily I phased out of massive multiplayer games and into solo games, I believe it started with games like dark souls and Elden ring. Now I prefer playing solo and at my own pace, for lifestyle reasons. I'm married and relationships take work. Also I work two jobs, so playing at my own pace is everything now. On occasion I will still play a massive multiplayer game, but rarely. I also cut back on the weed shortly after I began dating my wife.
I guess every man relates to this story in some degree. Back when I was a teenager, I used to play Rainbow Six Siege a lot. I was good at it - even though not the best of my party - and played for 2-3 years seriously. Then I started dating my wife. At the beginning of our relationship, we used to fight because I wanted to play and she wanted attention. Over the months, I naturally started focusing more and more on her and left the game behind. After some time, all of my "friends" also quit playing and sold their PS4. Fast forward 3 years. We are now married and have a 1 year old toddler. I work a lot to provide for our family while going to medicine school. I'm a really busy man, and even if I wanted, I would not have time to play video games. I still found them nice, though. I'm glad I dropped this addiction and took the right path, because none of this would've been possible if I chose playing instead of... living.

As someone who used to be somewhat addicted to video games and has not touched a controller for the past 3 years, I can relate to this. But one way to go out of this vicious circle is to view life as a video game : Invest in yourself rather than in a fictional character. God bless.
I failed a class because of gaming, I can do it again no problem but i just had a rude awaking for what i actually want from life.

Exactly
Also they just put up psn plus by %40

@@CIinbox Keep coping

You know it’s not that black and white, right? Some people just lack self-control compared than others. It’s that simple.
Very similar story here
your wife controls you
I guess every man relates to this story in some degree.
I'm glad I dropped this addiction and took the right path, because none of this would've been possible if I chose playing instead of... living.

As a life long gamer who has a had a balanced life and ocasionally quit gaming I noticed how many games are comming out now. The industry has become so lucrative everyone is trying to get at it, also programming has become allot more accesable as I'm doing it myself now too.
I know this feeling of finally having accomplished something in life a lot with gaming. Although I generally tend to feel like a total failure which is more aplified in real life.
This hits very close to home and has made me think a bit, thanks
Switch chess for the videogame and suddenly it's not an addiction any more - it's "passion", and people respect you for it.
real
Now you’ve started to make me think about the purpose of cubing.
I have been playing Starcraft 2 since 2010. Love the game, but now in my late 20s I wish the time had been put into a game like chess. Being a master ranked chess player actually has some social prestige/status attached to it that can be leveraged. At the end of the day they are both hobbies, but some hobbies can be beneficial in other ways very much like golf and sales.
Chess and video games really aren't comparable
Noone plays chess anymore. Just high IQ rich people who join chess clubs.
I have been playing games since childhood and now i am doing a job and still playing video games after i get home.
It is a great stress bustter for me, i also enjoy going to cinema and have a complete normal life.
People need to change their mentality also in terms of addiction.
Addiction can be different like eating fav food all time, going to gym to make 6 packs instead of being physically and mentally fit, watching lot of Netflix, back bitching.
It is meant for fun and enjoyment and thats the way it should be.
These videos never fail to show some of the hidden problems in today's world
Hidden?
It's scary to be competitive on the wrong things. Focus on real life
@@ali-xe7qu yea also lets stop focusing on the internet . f,ck programmers and it guys. they are just computer nerds. its not real job amirite.
If you want to play competitively, go for it. There’s a reason esports exists. If you want to play competitively for fun. By all means go ahead. Just do it with moderation. If you don’t want to. Thats fine too, just make sure to pick yourself up in the end.
Morale of the story: do whatever tf you want.

But in the end everyone needs to do what they want to do (not hurting or harming people of course), just live life!
The end is so so bad ever. That totally seems like partners betrayed him 😢.
I guess they spent there entire money on the intro! XD
Yea, I was like damn bro, nice animation, until I realised it's just a YT countdown thingy and not actually the video :D

This one hits so close to home for me. I loved this so much.
I used to be like this with world of Warcraft many years ago, thank god I got a life and broke the addiction.
There is a big difference between games made of passion and one of exploitation, one allows you to unleash your creativity and one is opium, nothing is as fun as modding a game and letting your creativity go wild, better than the predatory practices abundant in modern gaming today.

I went to stage 3 then rage quit after a losing streak(bad team, unbalanced match up, constantly carrying, no rewards even for losing team mvp). Was gonna download again but I realized the relief and freedom from not having to care bout the game anymore so i never did
I was addicted to video games when i was young, sleeping at 3 am waking up at 8 am.
Now i have the advantage of getting bored very quickly of playing games.
Only rust make me play endlessly, until i get to my objectiv.
Also I had to work hard if I didn't want to get computer punished because i always been bad at school.
it taught me to finish my job as soon as possible before going to play, because once I lost my concentration because of the games, it's impossible to recover it.
Today i'm a developer working at home and i'm happy to be very good at my job, always finishing it super early to go game, people see me as an average developer and i'm good with it. I'm not running after succes or money but happiness (in short doing whatever i like).
Once I adapted the mindset of thinking of my life as a video game I lost any desire to go back to playing video games.
These videos are great. Keep up the good work
As someone who used to be somewhat addicted to video games and has not touched a controller for the past 3 years, I can relate to this.
But one way to go out of this vicious circle is to view life as a video game : Invest in yourself rather than in a fictional character. Just as in a game, vow to improve your health, strength, wealth, culture, cleverness, social skills and so on...
Stop wishing to become the best player, wish to be the most complete man people will rely on!
That’s what Zyzz did
It's something different certain people want to find in games. For example some want the competition - sport is a great getaway. I've always loved exploration in open world games, when I got my first car and motorcycle addiction instantly went away. Been 10 years already. I reduced my playtime from 6/8 hours a day to 0 hours in the summer and rare sessions in the winter.
Man said cleverness
Find God brothers. The rest will take care of it self
@@exhausted_millennial-gc5be I can already see that you've made yourself a victim by the way you talk. Plus you have latched onto this image of an exhausted man and made your entire TH-cam profile about it. Sort it out kid or stay a nobody forever, every man has to overcome difficult things in life but not all men cry about it on TH-cam, so quit the loser mentality and go work for what you want.
this is so good, thats why I don't play multiplayer or competitive games like this, I know myself and I know when I cross the limit and it's not fun anymore, it happened to me in CS 1.6 , Rocket League, Battlefield 1 and it's very hard. I wasn't even getting good!
I used to be addicted to games when I was 16-21. I’m kinda happy I stopped but I remember being afraid so many fun gaming experiences were being lost. There’s a lot that I honestly missed out on and I had to rush to pick up social skills after because I used video games to escape from having to feel lonely when I should have been forcing myself to practice socializing despite being horrible at it. I do play story games much more though and much less multiplayer online shooters because those give me an addiction feeling
I don’t play videogames much anymore but I agree. I prefer story driven as well because it has an end where as most of the online games are just constant grind for a useless skin or item which is bad.
Multiplayer game services are specially designed for appear addiction in people. Especially mobile games.
No friends???
@@officalmidnigh yeah zero friends. I used to sit by myself at school every day since elementary and got bullied like crazy but now I’m better off than 99% of people because I worked on myself. Sometimes I wish I could restart with what I learned but I’m way tougher mentally that most now
@@Submersed24cut the cap lmao

I love playing games with myself or against the computer. Play whenever you want, today, or next year! No pressure. Its so much more fun. You can enjoy and explore the game and the land/world at your own pace without anyone rushing you. It's far better.

What ever else one might say about Wojack, the fact that he was able to download the whole game in just 4 sec is epic (1:11)
ive lost everything too drug addiction once upon time, my p4, my wife, car, instruments, condo. almost a decade later ive slowly started getting a small morcel of what i had back. i have a pc and i can emulate and run just about everything i could want, but every time i fire up a game and connect a controller, i cant bare it, it reminds me of a simpler time, it reminds me off what ive lost, its so painful that i cannot enjoy the things i used too, things will never be the same. i can relate to woah jack.
What's hilarious is that Wojack is on the cover of shooter 3 😂😂
I've gotten out of that addiction cos I realised I just don't have much time anymore, and it's the best thing I've done in a while I started going gym and started playing videogames a lot less
nothing wrong with gaming as a hobby and i dont workout but i still find the perfect moments to balance gaming and social life all together still
0:53 I love the way food reflects their life style
I got addicted to the console version of TERA. I knew my addiction cycle had to break once it started affecting my spirit. One day, the cycle broke when I got sick of the negative energy the game was emitting. I uninstalled the game the day my characters were deleted.
4:34 Is a symptom of low self esteem
If only Wojak had put the same effort he did into video games toward real life he'd be a beast.
In shot 1:29, the Arabic script reads “an open door.”
Alright. HOW IS THIS LOW BUDGET. This is so good honestly. i love this. It has so much work put into it. I can't believe This guy says it's kinda Low budget. I just love this.
Wojak is a true gamer for naming himself "Wojak69"
Thats the perk of sticking with old games lol you don't shell out a ton of money for fad that dies. Either way, new or old game, you gotta catch yourself getting addicted.
This animation is sooo good and relatable. Love ur videos keep it up. Can't wait for a new video.
Bro these videos are actually really well made and clever. The humor is dark and relatable.
Whoever is behind this channel has talent.
I feel like the causes of many problems like these stem from psychological issues/places. You can't get rid of a bad plant if you only cut the stem. You need to take the roots out.
Bro, i grew up playing Shooter 1 on the Soulja Console back in 1866. The memories...
Thats a good story, a lot of people keep playing videogame and leaving their jobs for years. Wojak could handle his situation, so he did pretty well with addiction.
