- What do i think about this song? Honestly pretty mid. It doesnt have much charm like the other boss songs do and its just overall quite boring. Short Order is better if im being honest, Obligato being another ebb and flow remix but for the entirety of the song was not very exciting to me

And-I can't explain it-but the way the piano just climbs at the very beginning before the record scratches?? (0:11-0:27) I don't know why I love things like that so much!!💕😭
That moment just felt like such a buildup when they show Marina healing Ahato's wrist-and the moment I first heard that part, I knew I was gonna LOVE this song!!😭
This is my FAVORITE song of the whole DLC!! But I get why some may not care for it. Though, contextually, makes sense for it being like it is.
A Spectrum is a range of color, right? Right before the battle, Marina mentions that sometimes mixing a bunch of colors can make something beautiful..
As for Obligato, that's a part of a music that's usually very distinct in its effect, and it's instrumental part, typically distinctive in effect, which is necessary for the song to become complete and should not be omitted for ANY reason.
They can have multiple meanings, but I see the Obligato part of the song being Ebb & Flow, which has been a staple of sorts for Off the Hook's stories since Octo Expansion.
It's Marina's first song, the first one the duo performed, was used as the level complete jingle for OE, was used in the final battle with Tartar, and it transfers over to Side Order.
It's a REALLY important song for OtH, for Marina especially.
It feels like this was the story's way of saying that it needs to be a part of their big battle song no matter what.
You take the Obligato that is Ebb & Flow. And mix it with Ahato, and all the other parts of the music, and you get a more powerful version of the original song (musically and in terms of meaning).
Something that I noticed about uploads of this song is that nobody ever does the buildup of the song when your doing the rythem bit "waking up".... Heck you can't even redo the full cutscene as an option when refighting the "victory lap" phase of the boss to even see that again....
Most uploads use the raw game file for the song.
That beat is constructed in-game. As such cant esily be ripped
Technically fly octo fly was the level complete jingle in octo. I see that song as having a distinct “fly octo” and “ebb and flow” part
imo anything after 2:27 is actually one of the best things I’ve heard in this game 😂 idc about the rest

I was really disappointed when this was just ebb and flow but not as good, i was hoping they'd expand on the beginning melody more... WHATEVER! It's ok this grows on me every day
