My main issue with this scoring system is the "Ease to acquire" thing. Surely ALL the synergies would be 1 out of 10, isn't that the entire point of this series?

there's one synergy that only requires two items and makes it possible to beat all bosses without taking any damage

I've been waiting for this since it was first announced as a thought. Glad it was brought to life. My favorite part of this all is the fact that the tables turn this time around unlike seed of the week and all that. This time Rage has the plan, the items in his mind, while the audience has to guess, instead of the other way around, at least in the case where every audience member is clueless including who would be the seed submitter.
I can tell, this is going to be a really, really, really, slow series.

It think this series could use some editing or alternatively give yourself the map and compass at the very start of the run so you don't have to do every floor properly.
I personally would love if this would become a 10-15 minute per episode kind of series. I love watching the Isaac videos but not everyday I have time to sit through a 40 minute episode, and having a shorter series would be awesome.

I've always thought that there should be an item that gives you an infinite range. Not a really big range, an infinite range. For example if you get continuem then the tears will never disappear, same with tiny planet and boomerang tears. I just think it would be cool. Would also be useful to always hit the back wall in regular play as well.
That would be cool, but getting Rubber Cement or Continuum with it would literally break the game, so it's not happening.

Basically, Poly, Crick's Head, and the Nails will do a ton of damage and Huge knockback. But it doesn't end there. Bounce once, job done from Rubber Cement. However, Spoon Bender will make the tears home back at the enemy, repetitiously hitting the enemy. And, for reinforcements, Tear Detonator will Split the Tears for even more Punching Madness.

i'd love to see the perfect ludo-synergy, with parasite, crickets body, toxic tears (forgot the name), and some other fun things. But anyway, this is a great series already. Keep up the good work man!
Rage, the zombie discussion around @13:00 is real. In poorer countries (such as many African ones) the smarter people can create a paralysis poison if you will, putting the target in a death-like state. After digging them back up, the "Witch" as they're commonly called gives them a drug that causes the brain to work at minimal power, causing a state that zombies tend to have in video games. The witch continues the drug's use until the 'zombie' doesn't say anything but listens to the witch and nobody else, thus making the zombie their slave, for things such as a foot-massage.
Loved this. It had a nice pace to it and it was nice to see it in parts as it was developing. Liked seeing it as a whole run both clearing a room full of baddies and 1v1 against bosses. It even had a similar atmosphere as a Seed of the Week and I found it highly enjoyable. Some synergies I can think of that I'd like to see: A contact-only run where you rely on the items that trigger when taking damage (I can think of several different ways to make this happen but I like the ideas you come with. Serpent's Kiss or Habit+Car Battery+ Yum Heart or even pyromaniac+Curse of Tower are good ways to start). Also would like to see something unique with bombs.
*Sheer* *Power:*
In terms of power, it's definitely a solid 8 or 9 out of 10. Literally not having to use any attacks since it's completely automatic greatly reduces the chance of taking damage, and the player only has to rely on their movement skills and don't have to focus on moving and attacking.
*Aesthetics:*
A literal storm of purple knives? 10/10, beauty in chaos.
*Likelihood:*
The actual probability of getting the synergy you showed naturally is pretty much impossible, other than getting really lucky on the Chest. Now if we were talking about the synergy in it's most basic form, then it might be possible with extremely low chance, like 0.0001%. 2/10
*Gut* *Feeling:*
This is an absolutely impressive synergy, with pleasing aesthetics and unbelievable damage output. 9.5/10 for me on gut feeling.
*Overall:*
31.5/40, 78.75%
ludo + magnetic tears + parasite + cricket's body + (optional polythemus) black hole synergy, trust me it's absolutely amazing

My synergy is not completely original but...
Character:Anybody but the lost or blue baby. Keeper is not recommended. Magdalene works best. (WHAAAA!?!?!? MAGGIE!??!?!)
Items: Curse of the tower, Ipecac, Prize bombs, and sad bombs.
Optional items: Razorblade (or any other item that damages the player,) bomb modification items (bomberman bombs and scatter bombs especially,) parasite, or cricket's body.
Recommended trinket: Bobs bladder (more bomb effects the better amirite,) rainbow worm (why not,) or goat hoof (if your gonna be maggie this will help maintain what little sanity you have left.)
Overall recommendations: If you do a slow progression towards the final synergy make curse of the tower the final item.
As for this synergy...
Power: 9/10
This seed is very powerful but there are two flaws keeping it from ultimate destructions: 1. Usually you need more than 1 knife to kill bosses. 2. Unless you get slightly close to enemies you may need to rely on a bit of luck that the knife goes towards the general direction of the enemy. Its not too bad but in some situations, such as the boss rush, it is noticable.
Visuals: 6/10
Without continuum or tiny planet this would only be a 1/10 but seeing the swarm surround the character and having knifes come and go out of nowhere puts it where it is.
Likelihood: 1/10
Only if the planets align on tge 386th minute of leap day this synergy will occur naturally.
Overall opinion: 8/10
It is definitely one of the, if not the most unique of synergies considering it takes advantage of a glitch. Incubus's arms must be even more sore than its wings from throwing all those knives.
The total score is 24/40

Why not pyromaniac? Then he could use the razor blade and heal afterwards by the bombs
Joey Booher Pyromaniac and host hat ruin the synergy. The barrage of ipecac bombs makes you take damage thus causing the curse of the tower to occur and thanks to prize bombs you will get a huge supply of red hearts. The synergy is all about chaos not control.

Soy Milk + Tiny Planet + Ipecac + Mutant Spider + Rubber Cement + Pyromaniac = You never die, ever.
I actually happened to get somewhat close to it in a real run. Not overpowered to the same extend, but still. Key items were
- Regular Brimstone
- Mom's Knife
- Continuum
- Spoon Bender
- Loki's Horns
In addition I got a LOT of Luck Up's
So what happened was:
Come into the room, shoot, waves of knives go in 4 directions and then keep going, looping through the screen. Knifes from each direction randomly unite to pierce an enemy, and then spread out again in a really smooth and satisfying way.
I think soy milk, keeper, quad shot, inner eye, fruit cake and really high luck = rainbow tear laser! this needs to happen

Hi Rage. I wanted to answer what you asked about the tape worm trinket being in the lab room. It doubles your range no matter what it is at. So you could take every range up and that worm and continueum and it would probably pass through the room like 3 or 4 times.
i think this could be an AMAZING series. i hope it dosen't end early.

Those knives are like those bat-things in Gears of War. They swarm and shred prey to bits like flying piranhas with meat grinder teeth.

I really liked the way you progressively get the synergy but I would prefer if we see a bigger improvement in between floors (like get mum's knife earlier but not tech x)
Rage, I have a suggestion for the series. Maybe you could try having peoplesend in really short synergy lists that you pick up on the first floor and on each floor you pick up a few items to try to improve the synergy.
My face literally hurts from how big my grin was while watching Mega Satan get annihilated by that synergy.

To be fair, I think every person who has a driver's license gets road rage somewhat whilst driving. I didn't whilst getting my license, but afterwards when you're all alone in your car and witness the stupidity and shear lack of caring from every other driver - it gets to you. Here's a very simple synergy: kamikaze and pyromaniac, it's probably over powered but I never saw it, also add bomb power ups like boomer boy or poop bomb if they work with kamikaze
Ludo, dunce cap, 20/20, inner eye, quad shot, Polyphemus, fire mind, toxic fluid. Orbiting mini-meteors around one massive toxic meteor!
IF ANYONE gets this in a normal run tell rage then he should give them a shout out so much for pulling this off
It's Alive, it so alive that it would even work on a normal day, not a stormy night
I had one amazing run. It was the best run ever. Double vision, with epic fetus, with mom's knife, with spoon bender. Two rockets that shoots like 8 enemy seeking knives, it was the best thing ever. And I forgot to get the seed. IIRC it does the same thing with brimstone, which is cool. I mean, maybe not as cool as this, but it happened naturally.
Mom's Box + Blind Rage. Has a chance to appear on a run. Every time you get hit, you get 4 seconds of inviciblity

While the knifes are everywhere and they do one-shot everything (Even minor bosses), the death is not instant. Also, the weirdness with homing and attractor make it slightly less reliable. This scale is based on a 5 being a winning sinergy and a 10 being the most powerful thing I've ever seen.
Looks: 6/10.
A swarm of knifes that fills the room has beauty in it, but nothing compared with the cascade of colors and shapes that we know this game is capable of.
Viability: 2/10.
This sinergy is specific nor only in The items, but the order as well. The only thing harder to come by would be a synergy that needed two items of the same type (You need to add the duplicator pupila thing and the money to buy it to the list of stuff to randomly get)
Overall: 8/10.
High scores for the trial episode. Altough not as estetically appealing as other synergies, the idea of a swarm of homing knifes is way too beautifuly brutal to not like.
So here's something I found recently, Dr. Fetus + Ipecac + Third Eye.
You take no explosive damage, and they explode instantly
pyromaniac+dr fetus+quad shot+20 20+soy milk+third eye+split shot=a new episode
The thing that may improve this is accuracy brings power for the red glow effect. That would just look amazing

7 years later and I got this in an actual run.
Soy milk, rubber cement, parasite, libra, godhead, ipecac, host hat (or pyromaniac), gods flesh (for earlier floors). First floor soymilk gods flesh, second rubber cement, third ipecac host hat, forth godhead, fifth parasite, depths 2, libra. If it isn't incredible enough, get a second soy milk before libra to overwhelm shot speed. Playing on Lilith is optional as I have yet to test it with multiple incubi

This is a synergy i like to call The lightningstorm of darkness. you will require: ludovico, monstros lung, inner eye, mutant spider, dark matter, the parasite, holy light, and various damage, and shot speed up's of your choice.

You should do a synergy where you get every single item that orbits around you and play as Lilith i.e. Red fly, blue fly, big fan, etc.
The long worm, whatever it's called, I believe it doubles your range.
I enjoyed the way you built suspension by only picking up a few items here and there. I'd rather see a "full episode" like this than just picking up all the items to show the synergy immediately. Because once you have the synergy, it would be boring to just clear out all the floors with nothing new happening. Well done!
Also, as a suggestion, I would love to see some bomb synergy where you fill the rooms with bombs. Perhaps Dr. Fetus and Pyromaniac, double, triple and quad shot, Bombs in your bombs, Sad bombs and a lot of attack speed. Maybe even Soy Milk?
Brimstone, monstro's lung, continuum, common cold, spoon bender, anything else you think will make it into more of a laser party.

add anything you want, i found out that spoon bender makes the bombs and explosions purple.
That tape worm trinket doubles your range. So it is quite good for most synergies.
How about Nails+Tiny Planet+Homing+Double Shot+Triple Shot+Quad Shot+Soy Milk+Libra? The nail squadron will rule the world.
